This case degraded pretty quick. The company made it right for the first one, but the second one deteriorated about as quickly and they never sent another.

I bought this case after testing out all the cases at the store. It was a bit thicker than I initially wanted, but if you're going to spend $1000 on the phone and not get insurance, you'll deal with a few mm of thickness. It's not as bulky as the Otterbox cases (which I've never been a fan of), and I like the feel of this case. As others have stated, it IS difficult to press the buttons, which can be really annoying. I think they break in over time, though -- I took out the phone and pressed the buttons in a few times before putting the phone back in, and it worked a bit better. My main issue is that since I took my phone in and out of the case (I sometimes like to use the phone without the case), the case is starting to crack in one of the corners. I suspect that it will crack entirely relatively soon, which is kind of disappointing since I've only had my phone for about 3 weeks now. I still might buy it again b/c I like it so much (and it's not available on Speck's website), and there aren't many options for cases that I like out there yet.

I do like speck products, but this case was not button friendly. You had to have super strength to press the buttons.

The button for silence is bad design. Concerned it might break and stop working. It did within 2 weeks.

No good. The silicone collects dust and lint. Its not for the tidy minded person.

Held up terribly and was sent a new and just broke again not approved

Corner tore off on drop less than 3’. Not very good for the price.

I will never leave the otter box again this case is pure thrash

Thank God for apple care. The case color began peeling off as well.

The side buttons are covered but are so still I couldn’t operate them.

I am very pleased with this Speck product. Having tried many others (took several back to stores), I found this to be very protective, grip is very good with a pleasant tactile feel and it feels substantial enough to withstand a handling mishap. Initially, as several reviews mention, I also had trouble with the volume controls. Imagine my surprise when I learned from viewing settings for another issue that there is a button (Sounds and Haptics) that controls these buttons. Who knew. I turned on the Change with Buttons and have had no further problem with the buttons on the cover!

Beautiful design in the sense that it’s nice and sleek. That’s where the nice part ends though. The buttons are incredibly difficult and annoying to use especially volume as others have noted. I’m bummed because I loved the red and black colors and I love speck cases but this one is going back. I will be returning.

Overall nice case, but the button is very stiff hard to press. Also tempered screen protector people beware, this case is not tempered glass friendly. For the cost of the case, the stiff button shouldn't even be an issue. Seems like they rushed the case out without even testing it the actual phone.

The wheel for toggling silent/vibrate works wonders, but it's IMPOSSIBLE to press the side buttons. I have to use two hands! Agreed with previous reviewer who called it a design flaw. I recommend avoiding this case for now, until they figure out the improvement. On the positive, it is sleek and protective. I already dropped my X from a decent height and it was fine.

Good case, every port and button are protected but the silicone buttons on the case are extremely stiff to push and you cant feel the button click

Agree with other reviewers that the side button is nearly impossible to push. Also the cover over the charging port makes it a pain to access the port. Finally, when charging in my car, the vibration seems to cause the charger to uncouple and recouped over and over, producing a “power connect”beep about every five seconds. Would not buy again. Will try some of the hacks posted here to make this case more usable. I am okay with the feel but not the usability.
