Tried the "cheaper" alternative first...

And the feet came off... Flash forward 9 months when I decided to break down and spend the money on this Speck case. Noticeable difference in quality right out of the box. It fits more snugly and hasn't broken yet. Love it. Very happy. Spend the extra, it's worth it. BUT....make sure to use the price match. It saved me $13

Only downside was that I didn't know there was a difference in these and the one for macs with retina so I had to exchange it for the one I ended up keeping.

We made the mistake of buying the 13" case without the retina display first, so we had to return it. This case offers great protection, and it looks very nice as well.
