Speck cases are the best. Soft touch plastic that is a little grippy so you don’t feel like it’s going to slip out of your hand. Snug to get on but great fit.

The Macbook looks real nice with this cover however, it starts to slowly crack from the edges. The cracks are minor so far however, they appeared after just 2 months of use.

I recently purchased the Speck Smartshell Case for my MacBook Air 13" M2, and I was initially really impressed. The clear design showcased my laptop’s aesthetics perfectly while offering a sleek and protective layer. The fit was snug, and I appreciated how lightweight it was — it made carrying the laptop around super easy without adding bulk. For the first six months, it did an excellent job protecting my device from scratches and minor bumps. However, I was disappointed to find that after about six to seven months of use, the top case began to crack. It’s frustrating because I really loved how it looked and felt at first, but unfortunately, the durability didn’t hold up over time. If you're considering the Speck Smartshell Case for your MacBook Air 13" M2, I’d suggest thinking about how often you plan to remove it. The case offers great initial protection and looks fantastic, but in my experience, it's not built for repeated removal or long-term durability. If you intend to keep it on most of the time, it can still serve you well as a stylish and functional layer of protection — just be aware that it may not last as long as expected.

This case is perfect for the Mac Book the kid loves the color and the price at the time was great.
