I'm sort of a pseudo-techno geek and a HUGE Star Wars fan, so the opportunity to OWN an actual operating Star Wars droid was like a dream come true. I started with BB-8, only because he was the first available. Now I also have R2-D2, BB-9E and R2-Q5 the First Order's answer to R2-D2. The First Order R2 unit is very easy to control with the app (I don't have the Power Wrist Band). You have to be careful about doing any kind of function without the middle tread down, because he will fall over with some of the actions that can be activated from the app. My favorite though, is when all 4 droids are interacting autonomously. When I first set up the new 3 (R2-Q5, BB-9E and R2-D2), and made them autonomously interact, BB-9E bumped BB-8. So BB-8 decided to go all the way across the surface they were on and take a running shot at BB-9E. It knocked the BB-9E off the surface. (I don't think they like each other). Not what I was expecting. But still fun. Anyway, the R2-Q5 is a really cool shiny black and the sounds that he makes are different than R2-D2's. And he makes a great collectible too. And Sphero allows you to write your own code to control their robots, including the Star Wars droids. I haven't had time to try that yet.

These things move with excellent precision and speed! I’ve had no issues whatsoever with the app or the droids. There is no delay at all! It’s a bit touchy in the sensitivity area but that is just great response. It can take a bit to get used to but well worth it. The force band takes a bit to get tuned right but it’s pretty cool one you get it right. The band is kinda cool but not a needed addition.

So I bought this for my son and ummm it was great at the beginning. He love to play with it but a few weeks after he got it he seem to be a little creep out at it and claims it's move in its own with out him connecting it to his phone ... I have one similar and it will move on its own with out using the app when it's on the charger but nothing serious or outrageous moving. I see it as letting you know the charging is done and that it's ready to play.

This is a wonderful droid with great potential to help kids learn to code using Apple swift key. The droid is well made, responsive, and a lot of fun.

works well, but have a few issues. Think mine might not be balancing properly because everytime he stops moving, he falls forward on his face. Unsure why, my white R2-D2 unit does not do that. I think when mine sits up straight it is not exactly straight as it tilts forward just a little, so with movements involving just the 2 side legs and when it stops it appears to lose balance and fall flat on his face almost every time. Got a great deal on price though, so couldn't pass it up.

Ordered it for my husband, and he absolutely loves it. Anything Star Wars is awesome to him, but he’s ecstatic that it’s a sphero.

Sphero products are fun. The app is fairly easy to navigate. BUT the battery life on these needs improvement. Per an email from customer service, they don't use "self sustaining" batteries. When the toy sits, the battery still drains. If you don't use them every day, it's best to put them on the charger for an hour before you use it. Honestly, if I had not been able to get this on a massive sale for only $40.00, I would have passed.

Rd-Q5 is equal to the RD-D2. You can use the Force Band for both of these unit. They move like the real robots.

I got it on sale and am glad I did. Overall it's really cool, but after playing with it for 20 mins the kids were bored with it. I chased the dog around with it for a bit and it hasn't been touched since. That being said, it's beautiful, works well and paired to my phone with relative ease.

This is my first experience with a Sphero and it's definitely a lot of fun. I love how the center leg extends and retracts. Very good detail of the little R2 unit. Note: There is a firmware update that will be installed upon connecting to your phone or tablet with the app installed.

I bought this as a birthday gift to myself and I had fun with it for while. The app is well made and the robot itself is beautifully detailed. There really isn't much you can do other than remote control the robot but to be fair that is it's main purpose. Overall a fun and awesome looking toy. Price came down so I am happy with the purchase. I would recommend if you are a Star Wars fan and like gadgets.

Super cool droid, a variation of the R2 unit. Moves very fast and has cool pre programmed actions!

The kids and I love playing with the droids. We have the complete collection and they are better together. It’s still fun solo just plan on getting at least one more if you have more than one person in the house! My wife doesn’t seem all that empressed, and if I didn’t pick it up on the deal of the day I might have been wanting more at full price. Great to watch with the movies as well.

This is a awesome little Sphero - R2-Q5 which is the black version of R2D2. Its great for a Star-wars fan. It has a app for it to control the little guy. Lots of cool features that makes the guy act like he does in the movies. Must buy if your a Star-wars fan.

Bought this sphero robot for my daughter, and she loves it. I actually bought it on sale and I also play with it. Controlling it with phone through app is very easy and entertaining. Now she wants the r2d2 sphero I might just get it for myself.

This is no mere toy it's a little robot. If you like R2-D2 you'll love his evil counterpart. With the app on your phone or tablet it will interact with you and the other Sphero droids and the remote control will let you run it around your house.

I had no idea what the capabilities were for this toy. But i ordered it and had it sent to my grandson for a special occasion. My daughter set it up, and connected it through wifi to her phone. My 2 yr old grandson chases it, plays with it, talks to it, picks it up and will not leave it alone. They watch movies together. apparently this toy will react to Star Wars movies sitting there next to the boy. What a real treat. And I though i was just buying him the modern version of Robbie the Robot! sorry kids, only "old folks" like me will understand that one. But, suffice it to say, this little R2 unit is a Huge hit and i could not be more pleased.

Was on super sale and works great with your phone app. Fun built in commands and features. I let it roam around solon and play with my dogs all day. Star wars collectible limited production series grab it while yoi can.
