    The Great Classic Trilogy

Unlike the recently updated franchise that relies on commercialism and cheap pop culture references to bribe the audience into rushing to the theater, the Original Trilogy expresses love and respect for its source material with its sweeping soundtrack, gorgeous cinematography (see the now-famous shots of Spidey swinging through New York City), and relatable characters, all wrapped up in a heartwarming motion picture trilogy that proves there is good and bad in everyone, and that the choices you make determine the kind of person you will become. The reason this trilogy holds together better than, say, the Iron Man franchise is the investment in the characters and the story. Where most other film franchise consist of a first film that is well-received, a sequel to make money, and possibly a third film to make even more money without any advancement of the story or character development, the Spider-Man Trilogy comprises itself of three stand-alone films that also fit together as one complete story. Every scene in each of the films is relevant and progresses the overall story (with some minor mishaps in Spider-Man 3, though it is clear that that storyline was an executive decision). Each of the characters learn from their experiences and the audience finds itself sympathizing with both the "good" and "bad" characters. Tobey Maguire gives an exceptional performance as Peter Parker, the shy, nerdy kid who always wants to do what is right. The audience feels that the good-natured Peter truly cares about others and wants to make the world a better place, but still struggles with the sacrifices he must make to do so (unlike the Peter Parker from 2012, who treats his loving aunt and girlfriend like dirt every chance he gets, then blames his behavior on teen angst and the hardships of not knowing who his parents are). Through his good and bad choices, the audience watches him grow into a mature man. I could go on and on, but it is best to let the trilogy speak for itself. Just know before watching that these films were made in the early 2000's, and it shows. These films were released before The Dark Knight and The Avengers changed the standard for the superhero film. Don't expect a dark, serious drama with giant explosions every five seconds; instead, prepare for a summer blockbuster that is fun and heartwarming. With that in mind, you will be able to enjoy one of the best film trilogies in the past few decades. P.S. As many times as this trilogy has been re-released, this has to be the best packaging yet! The discs are housed in foldout cardboard sleeves (though some may find this packaging damaging to the disc, as long as the owner is careful when removing and reinserting the disc it should not be a problem). The sleeves for each disc is decorated with the original poster for each film, for which it gets points for pure nostalgia. Also, this Blu-Ray set contains all of the special features from the original DVD sets, a definite plus seeing as they were not included in a previously released Blu-Ray set.

    Great trilogy, even 3rd one

Ok lets be clear about one thing since my opinion is objectively right even if unpopular. Spider-Man 1 is overrated garbage and Spider-Man 3 is underrated and superior to the first one even if it is also a trainwreck. Spider-Man 2 is Spider-Man 2 (yes it's just as great as they say nobody disputes this). But I'm glad this is a specific trilogy with a fine arc for Peter/Harry/Mary Jane that ends on an emotional and very adult note. Even if Peter is kind of a cuck for allowing Mary Jane to walk allover him in high school and only like the popular boys. She is truly quite shallow and only seems to dig him when she finds out he's Spider-Man. Also the whole pretentious tone "with great power..." stuff does weigh these films down. They seem very self righteous for what should be kind of a more light hearted care free character. Despite this tonal flaw the Amazing Spider-Man films only double downed on the pretense (basically proving for any doubters that Sony really doesn't know how to handle this character). Looks like Tom Holland's Spider-Man finally got it right.

The "Classic" Spidey Trilogy in One Package

It's hard to believe that with "The Amazing Spider-Man" and its sequel both having come out within the past two years, that there was another series of movies based on the Spider-Man comics not too long ago, starring Tobey Maguire as Peter Parker and directed by Sam Rami. The first Spider Man film was an enormous hit in 2002 and validated the superhero movie in a way that only the original "Superman" and "Batman" films had. Two generally well-regarded sequels followed in 2004 and 2007. They had been available on Blu-ray before now, but only individually, and with only Spider-Man 3 containing any extras. Now all 3 films are in one collection, and most of the DVD extras from "Spidey 1" and "2" are included here. There is also $10.00 in movie money to go see "The Amazing Spider-Man 2," if you hurry. The only downside is the cardboard box, not the strongest material, but if you're a fan of these movies you can now get them in 1080P hi-def, with many of the DVD extras, for an affordable price. A no-brainer if you don't own them already.

Best version of this trilogy to get!

This is the best version of the Spider-Man trilogy on blu-ray. It included all the special features from the 3 movies including the 2nd disc for the third movie. The only thing I didn't like was the packaging and how the discs are stored in the case. They slide into cardboard pages which can scuff up or scratch the discs and makes them hard to remove. You have to grab the discs in a way that forces you to get fingerprints on them. I suggest getting some CD envelopes or sleeves and keep the discs in those inside the case you you don't have to grab the discs and slide them out every time.

Great value for the first Spider-man trilogy! I remember watching the last 2 in theaters which was an amazing experience! Now at home I get to enjoy the movies whenever I want. Got these because there are rumors that Sam Raimi's Tobey Maguire Spider-man may appear in No Way Home. If that happens it will be an incredible experience. Raimi did a stellar job making Sony's Spider-man IP a global hit.

    Entertaining Sam Raimi Enthusiasm

Filled with goofy camera movements, broad-stroke characters, and melodrama, Sam Raimi's first two Spider-man movies, along with Brian Singer's X-Men, ushered in the current age of comic-book domination of the box office. After a mostly dormant period in the mid-to-late 90s, often attributed to the two Schumacher Batman movies, comic fans were chomping at the bit for reasonable silver screen adaptations of their heroes. Raimi threw his energy, bright palate, and genuine love for Spider-man at the movie screen and doing so, gave audiences some of the joy of comic books that seemed to be missing from the darker X-Men. It's too bad that the series collapsed under its own weight with the third movie, but those first two are still classics of the superhero genre.

Complete trilogy in a reasonably priced package

This is good way to get the complete Sam Raimi Spider-Man trilogy in a nice reasonably priced package. The only downside that I have with this collection is the packaging itself. Rather than having plastic holders like most DVD and Blu-ray cases, this is one of those collections that has the cardboard sleeves that you insert the discs into (similar to the initial release of the Star Wars collection on Blu-ray). This is just one of those things that I'm personally not a fan of. This is due to the fact that you run a higher risk of scratching the disc by rubbing it up against the cardboard sleeves whenever you remove or replace them. Other than that, it's a great collection.

These classic Marvel Movies are a Thrill Ride

These movies were created before movie studios, were scrambling to create cinematic universes with their properties. This is why the Amazing Spider-Man reboot failed. They were attempting to build up to something that the movies were lackluster. Sam Raimi's Spider-man built characters, explored relationships, and dealt with internal conflicts. Tobey mcguire plays one of the best peter parkers. James Franco is Harry Osborn.

These movies are great. Most people disliked the 3rd movie but that was only because of a few scenes. dancing peter and thats really it. The new spider man movie wasn't that great at all. the story was much clearer and better in these movies. As far as the set itself, i like it. And it was cheap and it came with movie money and 100 best buy points. totally worth it. great artwork and the discs have a lot of extras. But the one thing i cant stand is slip cases. they are so annoying. they are a pain to get out and you end up scratching the discs and getting fingerprints everywhere. honeslty just put them in like old style dvds. and put them back to back. it really wont take up more room than having slip cases.

    Best Spider-Man Series

It's better than the 1960s series. It's better than the 1990s series. It's better than the newer Amazing series (starring Andrew Garfield). If "Civil War" is any indication, it'll remain a little better than the upcoming reboot as well. I'm really starting to miss the Raimi versions - I sometimes wander off wondering what could have been if there was a Spider-Man 4, 5, and 6 instead of two reboots.

I had previously owned the Spider-Man trilogy on DVD and was looking to upgrade to Blu-Ray, but was waiting for a new film to come out, which is usually when they issue sets like this, and this is one of the better priced Blu-Ray collections, made even better by the fact that it was also on sale the week that I purchased it. All of the movies look great in high-def, and it's nice to get all of the extras from the original releases, as well as digital copies that I can watch on other devices. Great package at a great price!

The original Spider-Man trilogy comes to Blu-ray yet again as the previous box set gets slimmed down considerably. The new packaging for the set takes up less shelf space than before, and is priced more reasonably. The audio tracks on the first two movies have also been upgraded from Dolby TrueHD to DTS-HD Master Audio (the third movie keeps its TrueHD track but ditches the uncompressed PCM track the old version had). Other than these improvements, though, the movies are the same as they've always been. If you still haven't gotten these movies but have always wanted to, this would be the version to get.

I always wanted to get the trilogy , but I waited because I like the ultraviolet codes that come with movies to add to my collection. This pack is great with 3 movies and a bonus dvd for spiderman 3. It comes in a cool case and ultraviolet for all 3 movies. And the price was good I got another blu ray also and had rewards points so I was able to get both movies for 45.

The Spiderman franchise is very well known so I won't get into that. This is the first time that I felt safe purchasing Spiderman on blu-ray without fear of re-releasing and Im glad that I waited. The packaging is simple and fits on my shelf and the art work is well done. You get all 3 movies with their extras intact. Ive watched all the films and the quality is impeccable as blu-ray is. highly recommend for those who've never owned the series prior to this.

In my opinion these are the best Spider-Man movies. Everyone seems to dislike Toby McGuire but he is the nerdy but great hero of Spider-Man that Spider-Man is supposed to be. The villains in these movies are also great and the story throughout every movie is great.
