Hayao Miyazaki really was a master animator and his work lives on.

For some time I had wanted to watch this movie and BB had a SteelBook for a decent price. Not sure why this movie is heralded as such a "masterpiece", though. I will say it is an interesting and often times bizarre look at childhood and imagination from a non-Western perspective. Is has nice visuals for the most part. Though nothing ground-breaking-even for the time it was produced. Walt Disney Studios was producing animation with clever multi-plan techniques and brilliant cell paintings way back in the 1950s. Worth viewing for entertainment: yes. Worth championing this as a classic achievement: NO.

My family have enjoyed all the Studio Ghibli films. They always have a good plot and story. This one is no exception.
