Ink before you think

WOW. I was not expecting to love this game this much. I'm a big shooter fan and didn't expect this game to hold my attention like it has been. Now, don't go into this game thinking it's your standard shooter ala Call of Duty or Halo, no, this game is all about coverage. Your ink coverage that is. Shooting walls, floors, and yes even enemies. The team who covers the most area of the map wins. It took a while to adjust to not solely focusing on shooting other players in multiplayer but once you find your groove you're golden. The single player campaign is also fantastic and a real mix of shooting/puzzle solving. The co-op Salmon Run mode...AWESOME. Love this game. It hasn't left my switch since I picked it up.

I wasn't sure about this game at first, but when I started playing it was hard to put down. It's got the best parts that any other multiplayer shooter has, but the color add so much more to the game

My 9 year old son absolutely loves Splatoon 2. If he was allowed, he would stay on this game for hours and days at a time.

Fun sequel to original Splatoon

This is a good sequel to the original splatoon, a kid-friendly first person shooter. The only thing I miss is the dual screen capability to see the map and the game simultaneously. In this version you need to switch screens to see the map. A nice advantage is the portable mode of the Nintendo Switch to play on the go.

Great game that is easy to learn how to play well, but challenging to master. It is the perfect mix of simplicity and complexity that makes it a great game for all levels of gamers - from casual to pros.

The first Splatoon was a very good first effort by Nintendo, but Splatoon 2 has some great upgrades that make the game extremely fun! Great value as this game should keep you entertained for a long time.

I have played a couple matches, and what I did play left me with a good impression. My 4 year old son has played a ton of matches, and cannot get enough. It's good to find a "shooter" that kids can play.

This game is amazing! My kids love to play this game even when we are not at home. The game does require internet access to play with people online though. But other wise this game is great for the kids.

If you dislike the monotonous goal of netting the most kills and would rather enjoy a fresh spin on the shooter genre, check out Splatoon 2. It's pretty much a complete clone (with some improvements) of the original Splatoon. Also looks phantasmagorical on my new 55" Samsung KU6290 4K UHD HDR Ultra TV... (Disclaimer: I've never owned better than 720p, so I'm just experiencing 1080p for the very first time. Now you're probably thinking: 'This has just discredited the opinion of this guy in my book and therefore his review is useless. Who in their right mind is only just now getting to 1080p in 2017?! GET BACK UNDER YOUR ROCK!' That's fine. I have my TV now. I'm happy to be back under my rock. Carry on.)

If you played the original, you know what to expect. From what I played so far, feels like the same game. But it has a fresh new story and lots of new levels. Worth playing for any switch owner

Like many people, I never purchased a Wii U and thus never played the first Splatoon. I do however remember when it came out and also thinking that it was a kiddie game. While this is not a typical shooter with blood and violence, it's not necessarily a kid game.
While kids could enjoy this game, it is obviously played by a lot of adults. The multiplayer can be challenging, the main game mode (Turf War), is not all about getting Kills (Splats). The main objective is to coat as much of the floor with your color of paint. This is good because even if you aren't very good at getting kills (Splats), you can still contribute greatly to your team,
This game is a great addition to my Switch Collection.

Fast paced multiplayer shooter gameplay on a console with a great aiming solution using the motion controls with the joy cons. No other shooter on console will feel right without this control scheme.

I bought this because I was under the impression that Splatoon 2 had couch co-op and wanted a game that I could play with my son. Checked the back of the game and it says local co-op on it (yes it does say `players: 1`) but still confusing when it says local co-op on it and the internet had also led me to believe it was couch co-op. Was very disappointed when I got home and couldn't figure out how to let him play with me. Looked it up and found that it was indeed local co-op but local meant everyone who has a switch and the game can play together in the same room. To me that sounds more like a lan party (obviously wirelessly but the concept is the same) not a local co-op. The game is fun to play but got it mainly because I thought we could play together. I like splatoon, don't love it, but like it. I love Zelda, Mario, Metroid, Pikmin, and way more Nintendo ips but splatoon 2 is not up there on my list. If I wanted to play a shooter I'd rather play Destiny, but this is better for kids. If this had true couch co-op this game would be amazing. As it doesn't it's just so so.
