Research this before buying to make sure you are aware of the pros and cons. First, this works best in a dry environment. From what I read this does not do well in already humid locations. Make sure to buy a unit that is appropriate for the amount of square feet. Exceeding that renders it useless. Realize this is NOT an air conditioner. This does not need to be vented outside. It isn't super quiet. It isn't super noisy. It seems to be ok on electrical usage. The manufacturer was not helpful providing that info. You will not notice any real benefits of this in extreme temperatures. However when it's warm but not unbearably hot, this is when this unit shines. When you are on the border of needing ac you might be able to get away with using this instead. Less ac wear and tear, cheaper to operate. While we did research these units and knew their limitations, we still expected more from the way it was being described.

You can not go into any store on Oahu except second stores that sell Swamp coolers. I had to order my SPT Evaporative Air Cooler from the mainland which took a few days faster than what I thought , like 2 days before scheduled pick up at Aiea, HI. Best Buy store. Where I live is very hot & humid but my SPT still worked very good in keeping my personal space cool and it did that very well l'm so happy with this awesome product that I will buy more of same kine in future!

Works well in a small room or area and the fan option is a plus. Only withdraw is you have to keep replacing water with cold water or ice on a really hot summer day. Overall good product.

I liked the performance of cooler so far. It is easy to use and giving result as described. I would recommend this product for medium size room.

Like other reviewers have mentioned, this is not an air conditioner. It is an evaporative cooler and works in dry climates. It needs to be nearby to feel the effects, and it blows cool - not cold - air. I use it when I am home alone and doing something in one room and do not want to cool the entire house with central air, and it works just fine for that. It works best with open windows nearby, otherwise it will make the room feel damp.

You get what you pay for with this product. Quick fix to a hot day, but temporarily. Must use BLOCKS of ice and freezing water to get full potential. Ventilation is recommended to avoid a muggy, mildew smell. But overall worth it's cost.

Gave 5 stars but really only 4 1/2. At full fan it get's a bit noisy but cannot deny how quickly and efficiently unit works. So far. the hottest day has yet to defeat its cooling capacity.

Like others have stated, this is not an air conditioner, it's an evaporative cooler. You need to live in a dry climate in order for this to be effective. It blows cool (not cold like an AC) air and as long as you're within I'd say 4 or 5 feet of it, it will cool you off. It works better with open windows, otherwise you'll just get a muggy room. I use it when I am home alone and don't want to cool the whole house when I'm in one spot. As long as your expectations about what this can and cannot do are clear, it's a good product.

I was excited when I purchased this item specially with the heat wave we're having in California. I wasn't as impressed when I started to use this item. It has plenty of great features however for me it didn't seem to cool enough my single apartment. I added ice to bin and it helped but not a 5 star for me.

i would say is okay it needs a lot of ice to work.

The cooler has a nice look, but doesn't make a huge difference in a warm/hot room. Even adding ice and cold water won't make a noticeable difference.

This is a great cooler for Colorado. The cooler works great in our dry climate, it's quiet as well. We bought two, and are considering replacing the larger portable Ac unit we have with these two.

Not an air conditioner but works great when loaded with ice. Definetely cools my bedroom.

It’s not enough cool for my little room, if you want to cold I must to seat in font of the fan only, I used 2 days only and return.

I spent time to research a unit like this. thinking price, ease and reviews. Had to call company directly about leaking of water..manual is no help. Put ice cold water, cold water and nothing better than a good fan. Used it for several days and finally had to return it (wish I hate returning anything). PLEASE SAVE YOUR $ ...Wish I could have given ZERO stars
