My bedroom is all glass so it did not cool as I needed... Okay product for the price, works good for small area. Plastic seems kind of cheap. front door broke either in shipping or I did it not know it when I broke it. I would reccomend to a friend for a small room

this item is worthless. it works fine and it's quiet. BUT it doesn't cool my small bedroom even if I put a lot of ice in it. Instead it makes my room more humid. And the remote has the same frequency as my TV's remote. that sucks!

    Better than a desk fan

This is definitely not on par with A/C, but it works better than a desk fan for cooling. Product description says this works for low-humidity places. Colorado has very low humidity and it still doesn't cool very much, maybe a 2-3 degrees within 5 feet of the unit.

I normally dont write reviews. But after reading some bad reviews, I definitely have to defend this. Why? Because it was an excellent purchase for me. The price was amazing and the product does work. I live in a desert and it does help cool a normal size bedroom. I love how it has many functions, a remote, big water reservoir, and its very easy to use. One simple suggestion: Instead of ice, buy those freezable/reusable ice packs. I would definitely suggest this to others before buying a $300-500 ac. This is for about 300-350 sq ft coverage.

Great for cooling down my studio apartment

I use this evaporative cooler to cool my studio apartment. It works well if the space being cooled is smaller and if you put ice in the water tub. Since I live in southern CA near Los Angeles, the weather temperature never gets to hot. So the evaporative cooler is perfect.

My Boyfriend wanted to buy an evaporative cooler for our 750 SF apartment to help cut down on the electric bill. I was a little skeptical; but, he swore that it would really help to cool down the apartment. We spend an average of $168.00 a month on our electric bill and that is on an equalizer plan and it is still HOT. This particular evap cooler is not cooling down the apartment; but, it was too costly to return it the manufacturer; so, we are keeping it and basically using it as a regular fan (an expensive regular fan)...live and learn I guess! If you live in the desert...do not waste your money on this item.

Will not cool. The unit has a a container for water that should feed into a pad to cool air .This does not work. No easy way to remove water in pan.Tried contacting manufacturer, was told to return to store. Called store and was told to return to manufacture. Very disappointed.

This is just a huge fan that you put water and ice in and it is supposed to make it colder but all it does is make it very humid in the room. And I had to pay for my own shipping to return it since I bought it from plumbstruck

Saw alot of bad reviews on this unit.... but i also saw 1 or 2 good ones...so I was sceptical whether to go ahead or not. However, i decided to give it a try.... It creates alot of humidity...which makes the room even hotter! ... and with full ice in it.. it is not really better than a powerful fan. So in the end, with the humidity it creates i was far from pleased. Loved the concept, but it wasn't for me.

Couldn't believe some of the negative reviews, its obvious not a BTU A/C! If that's what they needed... and have the proper facility for it, then that's what they should of purchased. My suggestion is to do your "research well" this way you get what you want! I use an BTU A/C portable in my window at my work studio, it gets very hot in our concrete courtyard (80-90 degrees) sometimes and it works perfectly... I use my SPT Evap for my home use. Love that I can just roll it from room to room just depending on where I need it... I've had it for a year and half now and am Very Happy with my purchase! Jesse ~ San Francisco
