Amazing game. Perfect for any Final fantasy fan for nostalgia or JRPG fans.

Playing the Remake of my first and favorite Final Fantasy made me feel like I was a kid again, feeling excited, awed and so entranced by thisnworld and these characters. When I played the original Final Fantasy 7, I was around 8 or 9 and it was completely different from anything I'd played up till then. Till then it was either colorful platformers or Mortal Kombat and I didn't really think of video games as a storytelling medium. I was an avid reader and finding abgame that told a story as good, or even better, than my favorite books blew my young mind. I've played almost every Final Fantasy game since then and it will always be my favorite series of games. Final Fantasy 7R was everything I hopednitnwould be and more. The expansion of the story of the Midgar portion of the original, additionally fleshing out the city, the struggles of the people there and the deeds of Shinra, especially That Event, that happened to Sector 7(trying to avoid putting spoilers, jic), just made me love FF7/R even more. I appreciate the extra time we get with Avalanche members, seeing Tifa's bar and Aerith's church and her house in beautiful modern day graphics just amazes me. The music had me tearing up with happiness and sweet nostalgia right from the start. I know the change to the story has been divisive among fans, but I love it. I would have loved the game even if it was going to be the exact original story, with modern graphics and mechanics, but having these new possibilities and not knowing exactly what will happen next has me thrilled. I'm on my second playthrough and going for the Platinum now, so I anticipate a good amount of time with partn1 of the remake while I eagerly wait for part 2. I don't think I've been so excited for something since I was a kid.

This release was everything I wanted, dreamed of, and more. I thought I was going to hate the new battle system but they really did this game right. You're not even essentially playing the "Same Story" and the game is almost like in alternate universe of the original with overall the same plot but way more extras and depth into the characters individually. Graphics and scenes are amazing. Revamped epic soundtrack making nostalgia hit like a 2 ton truck. I can't believe I have to wait a few more years for the next part of the story. That's the only thing that sucks!!

This game is great and captures a lot of the good things about the original PLUS adds to it. Characters are better in this one than on the ps1 in my opinion since you can actually see the emotions on their faces this time around and the voice actors do a great job! The main character (Cloud) is a little stiff but he's surrounded by charisma in characters like aerith, so it balances out fine. Combat is great, areas are kind of generic but the soundtrack is incredible. Super great graphics! This collectors edition is very nice but isn't a must have. I'd say just get the standard honestly since the soundtrack cd isn't even a full soundtrack and the art book is just..a small art book with not much to offer. Overall, this game is great if you already know Final Fantasy 7 for ps1 but just good if you're not nostalgic for the original. Without spoiling anything, this game DOES have major plot differences from the original so expect that!

Not just a great game, but great job on Best Buy's part getting it delivered on launch day. I'd had this pre-ordered on Amazon for years and then about a week before it comes out, Amazon sent an e-mail to everyone saying they's crapped the bed and not to expect it on launch day. Yay BestBuy, boo Amazon. Buying all my games at Best Buy from now on.

Risks were taken with the remake and it truly is a remake with a completely radical departure from story and combat of the original. Only critique is the fact they’re milking this by by breaking it up into multiple chunks at 60 a pop and this one goes through only a tiny fraction of the original games story which at the pace they’re going at for this one will be like 10 releases.

This game was very good, however it may be a little different than what you may be expecting gameplay is completely Duffy from the original and the stories are much more flushed out. This made it so that it’s a part one of the original story instead of the whole thing. It’s hard to judge what this all means in the grand scheme of things since the other parts are not out yet..

Nostalgia at it's best. Loved this game back in the 90's, yeah they added more content to extend the game. And forcing the consumer to purchase multiple entries. But can't complain, FF7 has been my favorite from the final fantasy series. And the new content just adds more depth to each character.

i'm a fan of the original and this remake is amazing. you don't have to play other FF games in order to enjoy this one. this is also great for new comers. graphics, story, game play, and side missions are all great to play multiple times over.

What can I say. This game looks incredible. Gameplay is fantastic. When you hear the opening theme and familiar music from the original, you're sure to shed a tear or two. Can't get enough of this game. On my third play through and won't be my last.

I've waited years for this and for me it did not disappoint. It was visually stunning and added new depth to the original story. The new combat system I was worried I would hate and ended up loving (well minus how summons work but thats a whole different post).

Great story. Feels like I'm playing a different version of FF7 (which is a good thing). The plot definitely gave me chills especially the ending. I like how the action combat works. Just feels the characters movements a bit clunky. Dodging is also less rewarding.

This was my first video game ever and it was amazing. Loved everything about it. I'm glad I got this one and I really like the tin. The downloadable content was nice to have, though it didn't help too much in the actual game. Love Big chocobo

Simply put: excellent. As near perfect as you can get with a remake of this true classic. The way Midgar has been expanded, and the way they've carried out this whole first act, has been nothing short of fantastic. I cannot wait for the next two acts!

This game was excellent, I’ve been waiting for this for a very long time being a king time fan of the original! Graphics are amazing and the game runs very fluid! It’s a must buy if you are into RPG’s! Definitely one of the best Final Fantasy’s

Great game! Fans of the original get a new take on the story with voice acting now in the characters, the gameplay is like more recent final fantasy games and the option for classic mode to make the gameplay similar to the original game works

This is one of the best games I have ever played. The music alone is reason enough to play this game not to mention the awesome combat and fantastic characters. Do yourself a favor and get this immediately.

Not sure why this is separate, but for pre-ordering I got some bonus DLC. Fun extras, not essential to the game, but I appreciate getting something for purchasing in advance.

Well, I purchased this for my gamer child and let’s just say it’s keeping the kid eager to do the chores so that there is more time for uninterrupted gaming. I guess that means it’s a good game. Plus the bonus material!

I never preorder games, much less deluxe versions. But I did for this game. This is a great remake that stayed true to the original in a lot of ways while finding its own voice and style.
