Excellent remake of a classic

The remake captures the essence of the original, while offering a lot of quality of life features that brings it into the modern era.

Amazing game

If you played the original version, you might be a bit more picky about this remake. At first the 2.5D graphics really seemed like a clash, but they grew on me. I found the characters and story to be wonderful, the music was okay but not as memorable as other entries. I really liked the objectives/achievements setup much more than the standard "Battle Trophies" of other SO games, the Item Creation mechanics in this game were much less frustrating, and New Game+ allowed me to eventually unlock all of the 99 different endings. I'll treasure this game for many years to come.

Anyone who is curious about the SO series should start here. It’s the best one, hands down.
