A good idea for any fan of the original Star Trek.

For the 50th anniversary of Star Trek, Paramount did... as little as possible.

Sad, didn't bring the BestBuy Exclusive Art. Will go to store again.

Again this review is just on the packaging. All of the original movies were loose and every holder was cracked and broken. Plus, they of course do not have another set to exchange!

This lovely and elaborate box set celebrates the 50th anniversary of Star Trek in style. But if you are a die-hard Trekkie, you probably already have most of the content. New (and at release date) exclusive to this set is the Blu-ray debut of the Animated Series, as well a a two and half hour documentary covering the transition of the tv show to films. If you haven't already picked up the Director's Cut of Star Trek II on Blu-ray when it recently came out, it's here. Everything else (the tv series and the movies) were released on Blu-ray years ago. Same programs, same bonus features, etc. Discs have new artwork on them rather than the drab discs of old. You get new poster artwork for the TOS movies, and an exclusive variant 50th Anniversary pin by Qmx. Best Buy has an additional exclusive mini poster/art card as well. What would have bee nice to rabid fans would have been new masters of the films (only Khan got a spiffy new 4k master). There's no Director's Cut of Star Trek VI here, nor the often requested Director's Cut of The Motion Picture. Do I recommend it? If you don't already own the blus of the TV show and movies, this is a great way to jump in. For the fanatic Trekker collectors, this isn't worth you buying this stuff all over again. Happy 50th, Star Trek!

This was given to me as a Christmas gift. it contains the ful original series, the animated series, and the first 7 original Star Trek films and several bonus discs of video and film footage. This would make a great gift for any Star Trek fan you know. The only thing it should have included but does not is a digital copy of all the stuff. Live long and prosper my fellow trek friends.

As a collector, I bought this for the exclusives, which are nice. Be aware, however, that besides the animated series on blu ray, the art cards, the pin, and a single bonus disk, everything in this set is available separately. A good buy nonetheless.

This is my first purchase of the original cast movies. This collection is a great value and the picture quality is excellent.

It's a nice set, but items were missing and thought it would include the original pilot 'The Cage' in the set.
