Very pleased with this series. Highly entertaining, with great character development, plot twists and tie-ins to the original Star Trek episodes. Interesting to see how technology is more advanced than in the original shows despite this being a prequel, but hey, 50+ years have elapsed in the real world, so no surprise! :)

The first series from CBS. The writing is very good. The only thing I dislike of it is they made the Klingons bald and blue. They look stupid.

If you don't think CBS All Access is worth it just for Star Trek Discovery then you should buy the series to watch at your convenience. It has all 17 episodes of season one. The first few episodes introduce the main story elements. Then after that it is light speed into the show, as it gets more interesting as the show goes on. A fun show for Trekkies.

After seeing the pilot episode (usually the worst episode of a television series), I tried to devise a way to watch the entire series. I failed, so I waited for the blu-ray release, and bought the entire season despite never seeing any of the other episodes. I wasn’t disappointed, as the story and characters developed nicely, and the effects are top-notch.

The airing of this series on CBS All Access failed to lure me to streaming TV, but I am a Trekkie; and I'm very happy with season 1 on Blu-ray. The production is excellent. Although made for TV, each episode is movie quality. This prequel to the original series, although not entirely Star Trek "canon", is a worthy addition to the collection.

Rebooting Star Trek with a series set in the original universe would appear to be a no-win situation, but the producers of Star Trek Discovery appeared to have succeeded. As the DVD of season one reveals, there are a few mis-steps here and there, but overall, there are a lot more hits and misses. Having shaken down their maiden voyage, it will be interesting to see what they've got in store for season two.

For those of us who love the genre this series helps fill in the gaps for those of us who miss seeing the Star Trek universe the cast and characters don't fail to deliver on good stories pick it up today

I was surprised how much I enjoyed Season One on TV . So much so that I wanted to buy the Blu-ray version so I could binge watch it to the end . The graphics & storyline are amazing . . . but you have to see it to believe it . Love it . Live Long & Prosper .

This is Star Trek with familiar references. I have to say the Klingon appearance is drastically altered in this version. I personally do not like the look of the new Klingons. All other series had similar looking Klingons, even Enterprise. It is Star Trek otherwise it is great.

This show has had some mixed reviews primarily concerned with the changes made to things such as the Klingon’s appearance and a few tech based decisions. However, at its core, it is still Star Trek and as a lifelong fan, I can still heartily recommend this show to anyone.

I enjoyed this show more than most. If you are a true fan of Star Trek, this show may not be for you. it doesn't have that star trek feel to it. Keep in mind that this is only the first season, so for perhaps it will feel more like a Star Trek show the following season. Try and watch the first 2 episodes before you decide to purchase this series.

Star Trek Discovery boldly returns to the great series Star Trek is known for. The character arc for the lead, Sonequa Martin Green is complex as a brilliant first officer fallen from grace. Excellent special effects for television & great Blu Ray extras.

A different viewpoint for the Star Trek franchise . The story is being told thru an alternate character. A refreshing change and great stories . Don't miss it ! This is a must have Blu-ray disk .

This is one of the best Star Trek series ever!! I wish they would show it on regular CBS stations instead of making you subscribe to CBS all access!! That’s why I waited and got it on DVD when it came out. Well worth the wait.

This is a must buy for all Star Trek Fans. Having it on Blu-ray means you don’t have to depend on the streaming services or your internet connection.

We made it through season one and it was excellent. Interesting new characters, lots of twists and turns in the plot, great special effects, the sound is really top notch -- all in all Star Trek just keeps rolling along.

If you miss weekly Star Trek universe show episodes, then this may fill the bill. It is somewhat different from canon (traditional Star Trek universe) but has new content and is entertaining to watch. Hard core Star Trek followers may feel Discovery deviates to far from established Star Trek story lines.

Spectacular set designs, great actors, fantastic & original story arc - it was one of the greatest Star Trek series ever. It is a 10! It is up there with the BORG! You will not be disappointed!
