Great show! Watched Season 1 online and this DVD was on sale at Best Buy. Good quality and entertaining extras.

If you grew up watching TNG, VOY, DS9, and then show is for you. The riders dropped plenty of Easter eggs and jokes for millennial and GenX Star Trek fans.

This really is Star Trek! Yes it is animated. Yes it is comedy for adults. But it is all done within the history and context created by The Original Series, Next Generation, Deep Space 9, and Voyager. This is a Starfleet ship and crew. And when crisis happens it is resolved according to Star Trek traditions and beliefs. Along the way, Starfleet regulations get bent only slightly more than Kirk would have done. Also, each episode contains multiple Easter eggs. Some are identified explicitly, in bonus content, like Odo’s bucket, and the episode crafted around the voice of a character actor who actually appeared in multiple rolls across multiple series. Some just happen, like the Kizinti ensign appearing in three episodes. Plus it is not all comedy. There is a serious subplot running through this year involving a renegade Klingon Bird of Prey commander. One episode that particularly delighted me involved “lower decks” ensigns on Starfleet, Klingon, and Vulcan ships. The Klingons and Vulcans behaved exactly as you would expect. That episode’s resolution required Star Trek’s portrayals of Vulcan logic and Klingon honor. (Be sure to watch the credits for that one: Borg “lower decks” are fascinating.) This series was made by Star Trek fans for Star Trek fans. There is even a cliff hanger at the end.

Only the truly nerdy need apply. Great season with hilarious characters and plot development.

I didn’t think Star Trek could work as a comedy but it does and is now one if my favorite shows!

Star Trek Lower Decks is a new animated show set in the Star Trek universe that is exclusively on Paramount Plus. As a new fan to Star Trek I find there's a lot to enjoy about the show, the gags and animation are wonderful. For long time fans of the series I'm sure it's even better once you recognize all the references sprinkled in!

Randomly found this in the back of a BB store, and picked it up because I didn't need to fight with the megacorp that usually sells these, then wait for it to be delivered. Worth the price, and the time savings to get it at BB.

If you liks Star Trek and animation, this is the DVD for you! We love the fact that we can watch one episode ( which never happens) or we can binge watch it. It's something you can watch over and over again and not get tired of it!

Lower Decks has become a great "casual" tv show to watch, season 2 was a great addition! Disappointed they didn't continue with a steelbook release after season 1 though.

I rather enjoyed it. If you enjoyed the first season, this is also a good season. I would recommend this series to deep star trek fans, otherwise some of the references will not be gotten.

Unexpected enjoy season 1 and season 2 didn’t disappoint, all the fun and Easter eggs are here. Pay attention or you’ll miss something. Great fun.

I love the way they blend in all the previous shows and movies. Every episode triggers a flashback to the franchise.

Any Star Trek on blu-ray is (for me) a no-brainer. Lower Decks is a fun, irreverent take on STTNG whose time has come.
