I watched the entire Star Trek series with my daughter over several days last month. I had forgotten how entertaining and thought-provoking the movies were, especially for their time. She loves astronomy so she was fascinated with the stories and adventures. It was fun watching the progression of events and comparing it to our current knowledge of the universe. The development of the characters throughout the series keeps them real it's interesting relating the actors to their acting careers today. I would highly recommend this purchase and would suggest that it be watched with friends and family.

I've been a fan for years , and as the VHS tapes slowly got worse over the years , I thought about replacing them , glad I did!! The sound and picture quality are second to none ! Now I want to find the rest in DVD format , to replace all the old VHS tapes !!!

Finally, I own this wonderful collection of movies on DVD's. So long to my old VHS tapes. Great quality and price!! Couldn't be happier!!

Definitely worth the purchase for any trek fan. Im glad I decided to purchase the collection, instead of each movie seperately. The added bonus features an commentary are worth a few extra dollars. Great for the collection.

Got this as a mother's day gift for my mom who is a die hard star trek fan. We had all of them on VHS so i figured it was time for an upgrade and was it worth it! special content and loads of extended features!

Having all Star Trek movies in one with the bonus DVD is awesome. It was also great that is was not expensive.

Completes my collection of the original series and is the perfect lead in to TNG.

I have this series all on VHS but we now have only one VHS player. So I was happy to see the series on DVD and at a reasonable price. A must for every Star Trek fan.

The collection is a must have for any true Treky. Each movie is a must have item.

The movies are as good as ever, but the special features on all the movie discs suck. The commentaries are garbage as well. The only good extra is the captain's summit disc. Overall though, this dvd set is worth the money.

This collects the first six Star Trek movies, the movies suing the chratcers from the original series. The DVD mastering is excellent. I haven't seen this movies so crisp and clear since I first saw them in theaters. There are some great extras ,featuring the surviving cast and crew, that give some great insights on the history of the movies. My favorite extras were the Starfleet Science briefings. Star Trek II-IV are the best of the movies. This is a three movie story arc that represents the peak of the Original series. Star Trek VI is a fun movie and serves as a bridge between the Original series and Next Generation. All four of these movies are exciting, well-written and feature great music and visual effects. The first Star Trek movie has some great music and stunning visual effect, but it moves far too slowly. This movie spends too much time on visual effect shots. As for Star Trek V, poorly written and lousy visual effects. All in all, this is a great set! Four great movies in one collection. If you are into sci-fi this is a great addition to your DVD collection. If you are a Star Trek fan, then you know your collection will never be complete without this. Live long and prosper.

The series started out on VHS and went to LASER DISC and now it's on DVD. For those that remember the original TV series, the plots are almost the same with the exception that they are more detailed and there are no commercials. The fact that they are on DVD and not subject to ruination from a reader head (VHS player) the storage problem is solved as the whole series in the box is no thicker than a VHS tape cassette. For the nostalgic TREKIE fan, this is a must have for your collection.

With the new film being released, I wanted to go back and review the films made with the original cast. Nice additions include the interviews and Star Fleet background spots, but above all I enjoyed the Captain's summit with all of Shatner, Nimoy, Stewart and Frakes getting peppered questions relating experiences by host Whoppi Goldberg, who seemed equally thrilled to chair the event. Good stuff, and the summit makes a nice bridge to the Next Generation collection.

Simple, easy to find your favorite Star Trek movie. The movies are remarkable on DVD. Used to have them individually on VHS and the color and detail is noticibly better. The only downside is not haveing the separate liner notes, but that's no biggy.

I love these Star Trek movies featuring the original actors. I only wish they hadn't been in widescreen and would have had a few more special features, like maybe a bloopers real and behind the scenes.

Was looking to pickup the individual DVDs, as I hadn't seen these in years. Found this box set which includes tons of extras, great quality, and the price is fantastic. Recommended.

When I purchase Star Trek: The Original Motion Picture Collection, I bought it for my birthday. All six Star Trek films look better than it was before. High Definition and Best Quality in pictures.
