I am a devout Trekkie, so of course I would buy something like this. I never did watch TOS because the vintage special effects distracted me too much, so when it was announced TOS was to be remastered, etc, I immediately bought it. For the purists, fret not. One has the option of choosing between the vintage and updated effects.

A must have for any fan of TOS (The Original Series). Much sharper picture compared to my old VHS and DVD collection. It's amazing how the special effects really pop when viewed on a 4K TV. They look almost as good as those of the first Star Wars movie, which came out many years later. My only beef is that the aspect ratio is 4:3 rather than 16:9. I can't figure out why the studio chose not to release the widescreen versions. Whether it's on sale or not, I say this collection is worth adding to your sci-fi library.

Looks amazing. It made my heart happy to finally get the original series on BluRay. My wife rolled her eyes.

Well, I am a Trek e. I saw the Blu Rays on sale for $50 and grabbed them. Yes 5 seconds into the show I remember which episode it is, but still great stuff. Keep your eyes out for the specials.

When I was a little kid this was one of my TV programs I used to watch. This is a classic and I love it! I like that it has the option to watch it enhanced or as originally televised.

ORIGINAL STAR TREK SERIES ON BLUE-RAY IS LIKE SEEING IT FOR THE FIRST TIME. IT BRINGS BACK GREAT FEELINGS FROM WHEN I WAS A KID. LOVE IT!

I've been waiting for this to be on blu-Ray. Old series but I love this show. Got me into sci-fi. Not bad for a 1960's show on blu-ray

The original Series on Blu-Ray...yay! If you're a fan of the original Star Trek tv show, this set is definitely for you!

I've always been a Trek fan, The enhanced special effects are awesome! I had several episodes where the audio just cut out. If you rewound it would come back but then it seemed out of sync with the video. I still enjoyed the rest of the package.

Yes, I'm a fan, so I had to have this. But no wide screen format like what I see on Netflix, and no title descriptions with limited behind the scenes footage. Yes, the people behind the scenes did a lot of work to restore and improved on this original series, so I'll give them credit. But buy it on sale.

compared to the release, the packaging of this is much better. The discs are pretty much the same, but this has slipcovers for each season and each season is packaged separately.

Upon other reviewers and not having the collection, made the buy. I like the extras also besides being a trekkie. Best editions yet in my opinion.
