I have been a Star Trek fan for a long time, when I was a kid growing up in the '70s, I watched the original series. Now, in the Digital era we live in, these look so good on the 4K player and TV. If you are a fan of this series and the original crew of the Starship Enterprise, I highly recommend this set. The Steelbooks are fabulous and lovely with the artwork throughout. The discs are great as well and each are labeled. The set contains a separate card inside the box for the listing of the series episode titles. The outer cardboard box is a bit flimsy, so, I don't think I am going to keep that. The artwork is okay on it and the Star Trek black logo has raised lettering. If you get a pristine box, and can keep it that way on the shelf, by all means keep it. My set was the only one available when purchased and it had a few dings in the cardboard, so it's not a keeper. The steelbooks are what I was after, personally, and they are flawless. Each disc has the menus and easy selections for each episode if you want the enhanced, (which is what I prefer), or the original effects when the series debuted from 1966-1969. This series has never looked so good and sound is an incredible Atmos 7.1 audio!

Hands down one of my favorite series ever. I bought this to finally give Star Trek a try in hopes that if I like it I'd have a sweet steelbook box set. If I didn't like it,steelbooks always go up in value once they stop making them so i could sell it and make some money. But this is staying with me!

This is an upgrade from my original DVD series which for the time way back when was pretty decent but, in three gigantic Tricorder replicas that were also expensive. Now for a good price and more shelf friendly packaging, we finally get to see these classic episodes in Blu Ray glory. The transfer is fantastic and the aspect is true. I have only watched with the updated special effects (I don't mind a little tinkering as long as it's below Lucas level) they look great, are tasteful and I don't think they distract at all, while helping my overall enjoyment. The steel books are a nice touch and although a bit garish for some tastes, they are fun to look at. This is a must buy for fans of the original series as everything is extremely well done.

The original Godfather of modern science fiction. This set is a Star Trek fans ultimate dream , alltough I am not a huge steel case DVD/Blu-Ray/4K Ultra fan and I usually just get the regular plastic cases on my videos not all films are available in my area so it will have to do. Never the less this set not only has the original aired visual effects but modern CGI one's as well and you can choose either option and this option was not given to us from George Lucas for his Star Wars franchise films and thankfully they took pointers from the Alien franchise creators with this set and gave the true fans the option because regardless of personal options the original film is a piece of movie history and it as well as the modern one should be presurved as well and this is what the true fans want. The original series was aired in panscan so the 4:3 film ratio is presented instead of trying to 16:9 widescreen enhancing the picture so we get a pure restoration of the original way it was created. The only negative thing I have with the product is the enteral storage of the steel cases of the disks and I am more fond of singular disk case storage and not piggyback style that these cases provide. Either way you get a fair value for the product you get.

A fantastic re-release in time to commemorate the journey into actual space of William Shatner! A fitting coda to his career among the stars. The series is the same lovingly restored edition from previous HD sets with the added bonus of the individual steelbooks for each season. This sparse release is notable for its lack of the ephemera and lavish packaging of previous collections. The card stock outer shell is a serviceable home for the metallic cases and is set off by eye-popping graphics. The graphic design of the packaging is bold and reminiscent of the era in which the beloved series originally aired. The stunning visuals, bonus features, and ability to choose between watching episodes with remastered effects or the original broadcast elements make for a wonderful experience aboard the Enterprise. This 55th anniversary edition may not be enough for owners of previous releases to upgrade, especially since this set includes an unfortunate and awkward disc-stacking tray system. However, this set is ideal for new collectors of the series and diehards seeking an upgrade from previous formats. Live long, and prosper.

I wouldnt call myself a steelbook collector...but I do like to buy one every now and again. This is my second favorite steelbook set I own (just after the Harry Potter Steelbook collection). The artwork on each case is beautifully colorful. Aside from the physical presentation; the virwing experience is also great. Picture quality is excellent and the sound has been updated to sound more modern. Really cant find a complaint. If you love the original series then this is a great addition to the collection.

I have always been a fan of the original Tv series and I bought them the first time on DVD when they had that great differentiating color palette of the hard plastic shells each season came in. Then I bought it again in a bluray set that included the animated tv show of Star Trek, which I loved. I just had to get this set again, because the steelbooks are worth getting in their own right. They really took the time to make the artwork pop and included the shows favorite characters on the covers. Bravo

Saw this during the holidays and had to have it. Just got around to watching it. Three steel books, one for each season. The refurbishment of this series was well done, the new effects are quite well done and don't interfere with the nostalgia of this series. The new soundtrack is dynamic, with the Enterprise flying over your head. Menu's, layout, all first rate. A must for Trekkies. Or anyone else really.

Looks great in Blu-ray. Also the “enhanced” or original look version choice is great. The enhanced versions are SOOO much better. The extras were great 1 dvd was educated to all str trek series’s tribble episodes. Seeing the original pilot then the episode it was incorporated into makes that episode make more sense.

Three steelbook collection of the the three seasons of the Original Series that started the Star Trek Legend. Incredible looking with the same special features of the original blu rays. A must for Trekies who collect steelbook.

My reward for waiting to upgrade Star Trek: TOS to HD is this steelbook set. 3 seasons in a gorgeous, compact package. I'll love it until 2 years from now when a 4K version comes out.

One of all time favorites sitcoms , hopefully someday we as a race will become like this better and unbiased, respectful of each others differences.

I love the way the order of episodes was changed to accomadate stardates . Not to mention the steelbook factor for all three season. A must get for all Star Trek fans.

This is the Star Trek collection to have. The HD remastering and surround sound far exceed the original broadcast.

If you’re looking at this, you know what the series is. The packaging is solid and the transfer to blu ray is amazing! Highly recommend this!

Love the box set with steel book packaging. Have not yet seen the episodes in blue ray, but I am sure they will not disappoint.

OMG the picture and sound! The presentation of this is unlike I remember as a child. I you are a fan this is a must!

The spectacular Kirk-Spock-McCoy trinity series first improved with updated effects, now made even better with a nice steelbook release…one star docked since, unlike the inner cases being steel, the outer case is made of cardboard

The series is great, the steelbooks have plenty of images from throughout the series on the front and back.
