This is full of fun stuff that I had never seen. It cost a bit much which is why it only got 4 stars.

This is a good choice for anyone interested in Star Trek memorabilia.

This Blu Ray set of 3 discs is designed for the Star Trek fan that wants a COMPLETE collection. The episodes themselves are the same as in the complete original series as they both have the original telecast as well as the "enhanced effects" telecast. There are 6 bonus documentaries all about 30 minutes each loaded with deleted scenes, alternate takes, alternate angles and behind the scenes footage not found on any other Trek set. Mostly writers, directors and actors from the episodes are featured along with others. Bottom line: If you are a casual fan, you probably won't want to spend the money for the extras. If you are a die-hard Trekkie, then this is a must-have for your collection.

I initially bought this to add to my Star Trek Library/Collection... With all the Special Features I have and I've viewed, I didn't expect to really get much more... and I already owned the full STOS Series. What I found was much more than I imagined... Not only were there new clips, never seen before anywhere, but there were other Documentaries. Also, they have 12 selected Episodes that when viewed by themselves are enjoyable as being the creme de la creme, so to speak... and they discuss those episodes in the accompanying Documentaries. I would recommend this to all Star Trek Fans, as well as anyone else interested in the Genre.

This set of three bluray discs has 12 episodes that are considered to be some of the best episodes of the original series. The episodes include the original effects or the remastered effects for each episode. A couple of episodes have audio commentary too. If you don't feel like buying the complete series then this might be right for you. There are also some documentaries and other bonus features too.

The Roddenberry Vault is a terrific set and one of the year's best releases. Filled with terrific new material, bringing over a dozen of the original series' best episodes, and attractively packaged, the only two real downsides are that it's not bigger than it is (if that's even possible) and that there's no way to access many of the amazing newly unearthed scenes and alternate takes on a point-and-click by-episode basis.

An Extra Plus For Soundtrack Fans Is The 7.1 DTS-HD Master Audio...Restored From The Original Mono Recordings. I Also Enjoyed The Isolated Tracks,Which Along With The Added Footage Made This A Must Have In My Star Trek Library.

Growing up I watched Star Trek many times over. Who knew there would be so much new material from the original series that was so influential in many facets of life today. Every fan of Star Trek should get this Blu-Ray set and relive the series for the first time from different angles and alternate takes. Fascinating!

Great extras, not sure its worth $45.99 if you have the shows. I had a rewards certificate and a gift certificate, so I only paid $15.99 (yes I know those are basically cash as well, but let me have my delusion please.) I very much enjoyed the extras, especially those from the City on the Edge of Forever. I did enjoy it, and am glad I have it.

This was the best gift I could find for a die-hard Star Trek fan. I almost kept it. I read reviews and it seemed the only complaint was they expected a complete collection...I did not have this expectation since most fans already have full episode collections. I was looking for something different - this was perfect!

I thought all the original Trek footage had been shown, sold, and repackaged endlessly. Not the case! This is a goldmine of outtakes, alternate takes, and cut scenes, all compiled and shared in an interesting way! Truly a wonderful addition to your collection if you're a Trek fan, which, obviously, I am!

I've been a fan from the beginning. I have the original complete on DVD (as aired). I also have the complete TOS on blu-ray, so the episodes weren't anything new - but the deleted scenes and interviews made this something special. After 50 years - I learned more and I thought I knew it all already.

Some interesting material, that sheds light behind the scenes, but the majority of the set is presented episodes that are already owned by those buying complete seasons. More behind the scenes and outtakes might have made he considerable price more worthwhile. May be better buying used...

Nice little set. The episodes are of limited value, if you already own a blu ray set, but the extra features are great. That's what you are really buying the set for, actually. Very expensive for that, but if your using up Best Buy Bucks, its worth the investment.

Deleted scenes from iconic Star Trek episodes. A treasure trove of footage and dialogue I never knew existed. Discovered in a storage facility 50 years after it aired, this is the holy grail for Trek fans. Non fans could probably care less- but I loved every bit of it.

Love this i've waited a long time for the set with the deleted spoof reals I hadn't seen these cents Leonard Nimoy stopped Jean Roddenberry from using them at Star Trek conventions they're not all there but the ones that are her worth it

This blu ray is great for any Star Trek fan out there that loves behind the scenes material like myself or anyone looking to get into the original Star Trek series as it featured 12 of the best episodes from the TOS as well as how the episodes were made.

The episodes on this set are some of the best in the series. Quality is top notch and slightly better than on the season sets. Nice to see the rare behind the scenes footage. Great purchase for Trek fans!

I already owned everything they've released on BR - but this was worth picking up for the extras alone! Anything that provides and insight to this franchise gets my interest. Some nice material and classic episodes!

Definitely recommend for Star Trek fans. Some great new behind the scenes looks at the iconic original series along with some of the best episodes featuring alternate takes and new commentaries.
