While I enjoyed the first four movies, I thought this was by the best of the first five movies. It had me buying the rest of the movies to watch them.

Looks like the only problem was shipping via USPS, it was filled promptly but spent over 2 weeks at the central facility in Kentucky (?) before being sent on. Arrived in good shape.

...to be a true Trek fan, you just have to have it in your collection! Yes, the script is bad, the acting is bad, the production values are bad, it's just a bad experience. But, there is still something fun about watching a bad movie!

Looked for it everywhere. Only found it online. Great price.

I bought it to fill out my collection only. May never even watch it.

Ok film not the best Trek film. Story was OK at best.

Story about a man who doesn't want to the job, gets in trouble and sets out to the right thing and against the odds does get it done and not have a war get started.

This was really hard to find! It was great to walk into Best Buy and find it and get to take it home! We had all of the other movies for a while before locating this one!

The plot was not very engaging as the whole story is really just a journey to nowhere. i was bored of the movie midway through it.

love star trek i have all but one of them just great to watch

One of my favorites in the older Star Trek motion pictures.

If you like Star Trek, then you will love this movie.

In the William Shatner roast on Comedy Central, one comedian referred to this movie, Shatner's Star Trek directorial debut, as "Star Trek V: Death of the Franchise". Obviously, that's an exaggeration. Although the movie was a disappointment after three consecutive outstanding Star Trek movies (II, III, and IV), it's still worth seeing, and has aged pretty well.

This film prompts so many questions from the viewer, and, in this case, that's not a good thing. Why did this clown who calls himself Spock's brother come out of left field? Why does nothing work on the new Enterprise? Why do Vulcans suddenly have the ability to project mass hullucinations for all to see? Why is the great David Warner in such a wasted role here? Why was Shatner's notorious ego given free reign here as writer and director? Why, why, why?

I can't believe Captain Kirk himself directed this garbage.
