Not a bad game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The graphics are incredible as well as the sound. The hit detection is spot on and the light saber combat is fun. What's not so good are the offline modes. The story is short (5 hours) and there are about 12 missions to play solo or coop (split screen) and an arcade mode. The bad thing about arcade mode is that there are virtually no vehicles. Tattooing has a landspeeder and a few others have similar ones, but no air combat. And no flight combat modes at all offline. Think Call of Duty with Star Wars. Also the maps are much smaller than the first game. No walker assault mode either. Not a bad game, but was expecting more options for offline modes...as I don't really play online.

fun game despite the controversy
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Despite the problems that have been talked about at nauseam (which I'm not going to recap here), the game itself is quite fun and, like Battlefront 2015, one of my favorite games to play. The campaign has original content and although short and choppy, is enjoyable. The progression system leaves much to be desired and after a while there is not much left to attain, but you can still have a good time with multiplayer matches. Hopefully they take the negative feedback seriously and address the issues raised, otherwise I'm concerned about the game's longevity.

very fun game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Aside from the loot crate mess, this game is fun and will provide a lot of fun game play for and star wars fan. Campaign is a fun new story, and multiplayer is very fun, quite enjoyable to play as all your favorite characters across all the films.

Great game marred by frustrating progression
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really enjoy playing this game. I think they took everything that was great about the predecessor at enhanced it in someway. The only problem is it the progression is frustratingly slow and completely random. Instead of being tied to performance or the specific types of characters do you use, your characters only improve when you get the right card from their loot crates. Luke rates aren’t easy to burn thanks to very stingy payouts after game matches. There is a lot of commentary on this issue online, so I won’t go into it in detail here. Suffice to say as a Star Wars fan, I’m still very pleased with the inclusion of a very interesting solo campaign story mode and the feeling of presence in the Star Wars universe. If they can fix the progression through future updates, I would easily want this to five stars.

Not bad at all without microtransactions
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I absolutely loved the original Star Wars Battlefront II during the PS2 era of gaming and I really liked the PS4 2015 reboot A LOT but I never bought this game due to microtransactions and the controversy behind it. But after The Last Jedi came out I finally gave in being that I only payed 31.99 with GCU. It was probably the wrong thing to do honestly because the "pay to win" aspect of their lootbox system was only disabled temporarily, but surprisingly, I'm actually enjoying the game. I've owned it for about 5 days and I can honestly say I have not taken it out of my PlayStation 4 Pro. Amazing game. Would get a 5 Star rating if it had more than 5 Online Multiplayer modes but with the free DLC one can only hope they'll throw in more modes. It's what Star Wars is about anyway. Hope. 4 out of 5.

pretty good
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Gameplay a bit better from first. Finally get a campaign or story mode lacking from the first. Multiplayer still a little aggravating with taking multiple hits to take a person out whereas one or two hits and your done.

Battlefront II Finally a Game I Can Play
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Last time with Battlefront it was all co-op with no story mode. Now with Battlefront II we finally get a story and so far it's pretty good. You play as Iden Versio, a member of the elite Inferno Squad serving THE EMPIRE! Yes, you play as a bad guy! Stealth is important in the game when you are playing as Iden and other characters along with your ability to aim. I also enjoy the parts of the game where you fly various ships ranging from TIE fighters to the Millennium Falcon. The flying is fairly forgiving unless you strike another ship or piece of debris head on. I'm not totally crazy about the way you upgrade your character as there are abilities you lose as you add other talents. I much prefer Battlefront II to the original.

For Star Wars Fans
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you are a Star Wars fan you will enjoy the game. Graphics are great and game play is good. It is much different than Battlefront I which is good and bad. The addition of the campaign mode is also a plus.

Fun game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Battlefront II is a much improved update over the first Battlefront game. The graphics are great and my kids really enjoy the improved story lines and the more variety of characters in this latest version.

A much better and more polished game this time.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you’re a big Star Wars fan like myself. And you always dreamed of having Darth Maul take out some Stormtroopers on Endor from Return of the Jedi. Then Star Wars Battlefront 2 is a game you’ll thoroughly enjoy. It takes what made the previous Star Wars Battlefront from 2015 fun. And amps up everything that game had to offer. From having all eras and a much needed campaign. To making the gameplay have more depth for the competitive players. But still having that pick up and play feel that most families and kids will enjoy. So if you’re waiting on the new Star Wars The Last Jedi film to hit theaters. Then this game will keep you busy until then. And the add on DLC content will be free, so that’s another benefit.

Where's the rest of the game?
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There was quite a bit of buzz behind Star Wars: Battlefront II. Fans hoped that lessons were learned from the release of the first Battlefront for Playstation 4 and X Box One in 2015. While the developers got many things right, there also appears that they got some things wrong. I feel that fans of the Star Wars: Battlefront series will come away from this game thinking that it took two steps forward and also two steps backward. Let me explain. The online multiplayer is really good. Galactic Assault and Starfighter Assault are amazing and worth the price of admission. Online multiplayer also includes Heroes vs. Villains and Blast modes (essentially variations of deathmatch). The offline component is where this game really falls flat. The campaign, while good, is way too short and is restricted to one player. It is also a really predictable story, and one that Star Wars fans have seen before (many times). Arcade mode is really bad. It doesn't seem like they (the developer) spent much time with this mode at all. It seems almost half finished; what little gameplay is there is basically the same mission type over and over again across the same maps. Light side or Dark side doesn't really matter. There's also no way to play with vehicles offline. Horrible decision there, as flying in the Millennium Falcon, an X-Wing, or a Tie Fighter are big lures for Star Wars fans. While I hope that content updates are forthcoming in 2018, I'm not holding my breath. If you're going to spend a great deal of time playing online, this game is a decent purchase. If you're expecting a great online and offline experience, I can't say that I would recommend Battlefront 2. We're still waiting on a true, worthy successor to the original LucasArts Battlefront games.

Love it...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review....when the EA servers are working. The multiplayer is down off and on(its EA servers, not the game), but when it works, it's amazing. I really liked the last Battlefront, but this one fixed a lot of the bugs and the mechanics are waaaaay better. As for the campaign, it's awesome!

It's has its moments of fun
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I own and played a ton of the original Star Wars Battlefront so I was expecting similar fun, first by checking out the campaign. It's star wars so you'll love that part, however, I think EA adding loot crates so much into the game really dampers the experience. You'll enjoy being able to use all of the characters but that's due to being fan of star wars. They didn't go all out to make sure your experience is unforgettable. With that said, maybe Disney will give the game to a publisher that has more passion for the game itself than just making a buck.

great game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Minus the loot box stuff, the overall game is great to play. It is especially satisfying to play one of the lore's character's, like Luke Skywalker. The single player storyline and the online gaming are both excellent. This game is totally worth it for any Star Wars fan.

Amazing Game for a Star Wars Fan
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was at the reveal event for this game at Star Wars Celebration Orlando and was really pleased by what I saw and heard from the developers surrounding the production of the game. Now I know there is a lot of issues involving microtransactions and loot boxes for this game, and those are somewhat valid. But I feel they are blown way out of proportion. The game looks phenomenal even on a standard PS4 on a 1080p TV. The acting is great. Ground battles IMO could use some balancing, but space combat is outstanding. The story is also amazing and the fact that it is from the perspective of a member of the Empire is unique to say the least. Also the fact that it is cannon and fits between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens it sheds some light on some events and answers some questions. If you're just looking for an action game this might not be for you. But if you enjoy Star Wars at all I highly recommend this game!

ANOTHER STAR WAR?!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. How many of these Wars are they going to have?! Oh baby... This one has a single player story mode. I like that! No one will play with me online. Zero friends. What's going on with these loot boxes?! Can you play as Jabba the Hut? I don't think so but that's an idea for Mr. Lucas when he gets going on Battlefront 3. Even better... Can we play as Pizza the Hut in part 3?! That's a freebie for you Mark Hammill. Put him in there. He would and should be at the front of all of these battles. He tastes delicious. Great game. Would play again. Needs more pizza based aliens.

End of the day, multiplayer's still pretty fun
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I know the micro transaction controversy stuff is a thing, but I never really felt opponents had an edge over me. You really win rounds with good positioning/Flanking with your teammates over having the strongest star cards. So all that aside, I feel the actual multiplayer gameplay is pretty fun. Maps look great, nice room to move around/flank. Each class has a use and I found myself switching strategically to fit the situation. Singleplayer is a pretty basic experience, but still enjoyable (If anything, just for the Star Wars drama in the cutscenes). You can learn some more about the abilities and flying by doing the singleplayer too.

it looks good at least
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.that's one thing for sure you could say that the visuals are the best part of this game, the new heroes are cool, it's awesome to play as the prequel characters. the campaign is average nothing special there, less game modes than the original hopefully they'll add more later. a lot of lag during a 40 player game gets better with less people. the arcade can be played co-op but not with a friend online unless you use the share play feature. the progression system is a mess. this game right now is only worth picking up at a third of its price in my opinion. I'd still recommend it if your a star wars fan just know what your getting into.

Fun Game Overall
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I think at this point everyone knows the drama of EA with this game, but the game itself is still very fun. It has good game play and the campaign is fun(not super long though).
