    I bought the LP years ago. Bought the CD for my teenage daughter after we watched the movie again - she loves the movie and the music. Good recording, classic music.

    Bought this CD for my 4 year old son who is just getting into Star Wars. He also loves classical music, so this cd was a double win for him.

    This 2 CD set contains all the music from the first Star Wars movie. This CD complements the swashbuckling feel of the first Star Wars movie perfectly. Lots of exciting action and heroic themes abound in which is one of the best movie soundtracks ever recorded. There are so many highlights in this set. 'Binary Sunset' is a great theme for Luke Skywalker, a sweeping theme for one of the sci-fi's great heroes, and 'Princess Leia's Theme' captures her compassion and courage. "Battle of Yavin' is one of the most exciting battle themes ever recorded. And for fun, you can't beat 'Cantina Band' and 'Cantina Band 2'. We also get to hear the 'Star Wars Main Title' as it was first heard on the silver screen. The only problem is with 'Binary Sunset (alternate)'. It is only listed as one track in the liner notes. There are no glitches or anything like that, but after the alternate 'Binary Sunset' ends there are some alternate versions of the 'Main Title' that are worth hearing. These start up about 2 minutes after 'Binary Sunset'. This CD is essential! This is the score that established John Williams as the greatest composer of our time. May the Force be with you!

    What can you say about the best movie soundtrack of all time? This is John Williams at his best. Well deserved the Oscar for it. Remember seeing the film for the 1st time. Music perfectly fit the scenes & characters. How many times has this soundtrack been released? There is a problem-over released. Blame George of course. You never get tired of hearing it.

    I love John Williams' music! I think this cd was a little overpriced, but I looked for over a month at used stores, new stores, and even itunes and couldn't find it cheaper, so I guess this price was fair.
