It worked as a gift. So from that standpoint, I’m very satisfied with it’s quality.

JJ knows how to re-work a formula. He took The Wrath of Khan and made it his own, respected the Star Trek zeitgeist and successfully preserved the original movie's emotional resilience without making it all about the tech. Similarly, Star Wars VII is a pretty thinly veiled re-make of Star Wars IV, and you just gotta believe that JJ wanted to (maybe needed to) put his own stamp on a tale that has been pretty much ingrained in us all since 1977, except this time with 38 years of technological improvements on the original and better dialogue (never a Lucas strength). Clever, even witty, fast moving and much tighter from a storytelling standpoint than any of the prequels, JJ knew how to cut to the bone and give us the goods we expected. And us nerds will pick up extra story line info with repeated viewings. Not a masterpiece by any means, but a masterfully crafted homage to the movie that really did change everything almost 40 years ago. Gawd, I'm old.

I read reviews from consumers, I noticed many said it was a copy of the first movie that came out 30 years ago. I will agree there are similarities to the original story, but it didn't bother me at all. I loved this movie and was captivated by the actors, the quality of production and the special CGI effects that were not possible in the first 3 movies. If you are a Star Wars fan, you will love it to. Open you mind, forget looking for details and just enjoy the story and action... That's how I get absorbed into the story.

MOVIE: If you loved the original Star Wars, you'll love this movie. It is very much the same frame work as A New Hope, but introduces new characters and allows the old one to hand off the universe. PRODUCT: The Steelbook looks amazing, be sure to collect the other star wars movies in the Steelbook which are also available at Best Buy. There are some great heartfelt special features that run almost the same amount of time as the movie and give you a personal look at the cast and crew and the making of The Force Awakens.

With the massive amount of publicity surrounding this movie, given we all thought the Star Wars saga had concluded a decade ago, The Force Awakens absolutely had to deliver, or it would have been a massive failure and the criticism for reviving a completed franchise would have been endless. Well, The Force Awakens did deliver. It is highly entertaining, well written, and just as the first movie in 1977, it introduced the world to several completely unkown actors that put on exceptional performances. Well worth your time.

After the prequels nightmare, us old-school fans were just hoping to not be disappointed again. Thankfully, TFA is a movie that properly fits with the original trilogy. I have the same problems with the movie as many have already voiced, such as Finn's "pop" or "trendy" attitude after being raised as a Stormtrooper his whole life, and the underuse of Phasma. However, the good so far outweighs the bad that it would be hard for a Star Wars fan not to enjoy this film. Personnaly, I came away a fan of Kylo Ren as a villain.

Having been a major fan of this epic saga I was a little nervous when I heard that Lucas sold out to Disney. I feared that the new ones would possibly be worse than the I, II & III prequels to the original IV, V & VI which in my honest opinion where the best. After seeing this movie I can honestly say that the story line paired with the cinematography was absolutely amazing and way beyond my expectations. I am eagerly awaiting the next movie to be released and highly recommend The Force Awakens if you're a true fan.

To watch movies of any sort on 4k is amazing. This star wars movie is fun to watch.

This movie is a great sequel in the Star Wars story line. It's filled with the expected suspense and fun. I don't want to add spoilers here so it's impossible to talk about the disappointing plot points. I will say that Rey, Poe Dameron and Finn line up to be the new heroes of the Alliance. (Rey is a girl who makes a living salvaging materials. She's young, strong, and extremely competent when it comes to aircraft maintenance/ flying. Oh and she obviously is strong with the Force. Poe is a rebel pilot and hero who gets captured and tortured by the Empire. Finn is a black man who was brought up and trained since babyhood to be a storm trooper. Early in the movie his training breaks and he helps Poe Dameron escape.) Like everyone else, I'm guessing that Finn will turn out to be descended from someone we know in the Star Wars universe. I can't wait to see what else happens with him.

If you are like me, you already bought this item just for the chance to see what they included in the bonus content. If you are reading this, all I can tell you is the bonus content is well worth the extra money. My favorite part was a decent overview of the first cast reading - the old guard and the new all together. A picture of this had been released, but in the bonus content you get to see and hear a few key moments like the opening and closing of the read through. Great stuff for anyone familiar with the saga.

Star Wars T.F.A. is all what you expect it to be. This movie sets up the next film in the Star Wars saga. It has all the DNA of the original trilogy and fresh new blood to the story we love. We see what happens after the Return of the Jedi and the plate is set for the next two movies. Won't ruin the movie for those who have not seen it. Must see to catch up on the story. Just enjoy the entertainment value of the film. Not a perfect film but does the job. Sit down and watch all the movies to get ready for episode 8.

This is the first of the new movies of the classic Star Wars saga. Episode VII. I have literally grown up with these movies , I was 4 when the first one premiered at theaters and it's so exciting to watch these movies span across generations so that younger generations can share these stories with their parents and grandparents . This film while not a powerful movie is a good precursor for what is to come . I'm excited , I'm a fan . I feel you can't go wrong with Good entertainment that the whole family can share !!

I saw this film twice in the theater and five times (so far) on this beautiful Steelbook Blu-ray. The video and audio quality are jaw dropping! The special features disc is packed with goods and an awesome two hour, four chapter documentary. And it even comes with a DVD I'll never use :) and a convenient Digital HD code. If you were waiting for the Blu-ray 3D like I was, I think it's worth double dipping and getting this for now. It's my new favorite out of my entire collection! Here's to Rogue One and Epidode VIII!

You get DVD / Blu-ray / 3D Blu-ray and Digital Download which I redeemed on Disney. The 3D looks amazing, case looks great and has a felt feel to it. I love where Disney is going with the franchise. Would definitely recommend. Initially I wanted to wait until all the movies came out just in case they release the unedited versions and will buy that too but this movie was amazing I couldn't pass it up

The movie was great. I really liked the incorporation of lasers. I like lasers. Sometimes they even use laser swords! There were many different colors of lasers, which was very cool. If there is another movie like this one, I would like to see it. Lasers are what make this movie great and I really hope there is another laser movie like this one.

It’s the Starwars saga. How can it not be greater in 4K.

After suffering through a snoozefest of a movie (Phantom Menace) and two less-bad-than-the previous installment sequels, the Force and all the magic surrounding it is back. Instead of trying to explain coma-inducing political maneuvers and showcasing bratty characters with little or no charisma, the emphasis is back on what it should be: action, bravery, and fantasy. Abrahams gets why the first three Star Wars movies are such an integral part of millions of kids' and adults' lives, and he fills each scene with it.

I am not going to really talk about the film here except to say It was great. The movie did exactly what it needed to do in order to relaunch the franchise, reintroduce characters, and set everything back up for a better future than ever before. That out of the way, the steel book bluray is a great addition to your collection, if you bought the first six films also in their steel book form. I am a huge fan of these steel books, and bought the first six films as steel books...so it only made sense to get the 7th.

Who hasn't seen the movie by this point? The blue-ray is definitely worth the price. In this package you get the blue-ray with excellent picture and a solid audio mix, extras, a DVD, and a digital copy which can be watched on all digital devices in HD. If you were to buy the DVD separately, you would spend at least $15. The HD digital copy is $15. With this you get all of those and the superior blue-ray transfer. If you like the film and want to watch it over and over, this is the clear and obvious way to go.
