This one is one of my favorites, not a game you can play and beat in a few hours. A lot of fun game play.

One of the top Star Wars games to date

This game is one of the best purchases I have made since I bought my Playstation 3. It has incredible graphics included in the cinematics and the actual gameplay. One of my favorite parts of the game is the enviroments that you play in, mostly because everything that was put into the game you can interact with in one way or another. Lucas Arts also did a very good job with the different force powers that they created for the characters, which make it a much more interesting hack-and-slash game than has been seen in the past. Although the game is fairly easy when you play it on normal, it becomes extremely difficult on the harder modes. Overall, I rate this game as a necessity for gamers using the next generation systems.

Pros - Good story and voice acting - The visuals are magnificent- I found my self looking outside of Cloud City rather than killing stormtroopers at one point - When you fight a jedi boss the game switches to a wide-angle pulled-back cinematic camera reminiscent of the duel between Dokku, Obiwan and Anakin in Revenge of the Sith. This is one of the best ways I've seen of taking advantage of the HD screen format and resolution. When you Force push your enemy across the room it really does remind you a lot of the movies. - Sound track is good- some new themes and old themes are enhanced. - Even though NPCs appear to have the ability to block your force powers or lightsaber blows, each one of them has a particular weakness you can exploit - so it's not really a problem Cons - Locking on to objects is sometimes clumsy- PsiOps did it much better - A few bugs here and there - As compared to say Jedi Outcast / Academy it doesn't have as rich a Force upgrade mechanism- mainly because the story doesn't really lend itself to it - Camera needs to be manually adjusted frequently - Too short - There are some frustrating jumping puzzles - especially with a problematic camera Considering I've been waiting since Jedi Academy for another Star Wars game, and the fact that the average budget for a video game is over $40 Million, spending $60 on a decent Star Wars game seems like a bargain to me. I have no complaints. Comparison to the Wii version: - Wii version uses canned Star Wars musical score. Reminds you of playing the old Jedi Power Battles game. - Wii controls are quite well thought out and does make Force wielding fun. - But over time the Wii interaction does tend to get fatiguing. - The visuals between the Wii and PS3 are night and day- including the cutscenes which are rendered using the in-game engine. The Wii's visuals just look really dated/primitive compared to the PS3's. E.g. on the first mission on Kassyk, if you look at what's happening in the background on the PS3, there are stormtroopers on a beach-head in the distance slowly advancing, and shooting and then dying. It's gratuitous but it's beautifully done. None of this made it to the Wii. Of course this is understandable since the Wii is a less capable system. - Wii provides additional game levels not provided in the PS3 game. - The Duel Mode on the Wii can only be played with another player, rather than with an AI- too bad. If you own both the PS3 and Wii, I recommend buying the PS3 version and maybe the Wii version when it goes on sale. TFU is visually the most stunning Star Wars title to-date and missing the opportunity to experience it's full visual splendor would be a shame.

    GREAT GAME?

The best feature is the graphics and cinematics. You will feel like you are taking part in an actual Star Wars movie. The play enviroments are lush and you can use the 'force' to interact with many of your surroundings. For instance, on one planet called Felucia you can hurl some of the surrounding plants as projectiles. Also, as you progress through the game and find special 'holocrons' you can update your repertoire of force powers at your disposal. You get to use powers such as force grip, lightening, and force fields to name but a few. The game play isn't that hard on easy to normal levels. I'm currently playing on the hardest level and it's way more challenging. Overall, the game is fun and exciting, especially if you like the Star Wars universe. The only downside is that there are too few levels to play through. After defeating Darth Vader you go straight to tackling the Emperor. I wish Lucas Arts would have had a seperate envirnoment set up for that. You definitely get the feeling of wanting more.

    A cinematic adventure!

Besides the unusual way the game doesn't have a targeting system for controlling objects, this game is pretty outstanding on it's own. Sure it doesn't have duel mode that the Wii version has or an online application, but the real satisfaction comes from the artistic, interactive environments, multiple ways to use the Force to decimate everything from poor jawas to gigantic Felucian creatures, and the unlockable contents like different crystals for your lightsaber, costumes, Force upgrades, and more. If this isn't enough for your 60 bucks, then I suggest just renting the game.

    Best Star Wars Game Ever!

This game is a must have for any PS3 owner. The story is well written and incorporates a good mix of new/old characters. Very fun to play, I mean, who doesn't want to use Force Lightning, Force Choke, Force Push and Force Repulse?!?!? I recommend buying the Ultimate Sith Edition though, it comes with 3 DLC (Downloadable Content) packs and is costs $40. The DLC's alone will run you $10 each on the PS Store. You don't need the strategy guide either, there are plenty of good websites out there that have walkthroughs. For the trophy hunters; this game contains 48 story trophies and 17 from the DLC packs for a total of 65!! The Platinum can be obtained with about 3-4 weeks of work without using cheats and the replay value is very high. BUY THIS GAME!!!

This game emerses you from the very beginning. The graphics are excellent, the story line unfolds very quickly. You get to play as Darth Vaders assassin and take out the jedi, but then you struggle with the force inside you. By the third level if you haven't powered up you'll wish you had done so! The game controls and programming are top notch! Only put down the controller long enough to write this review!

A new AMAZING chapter to the story

I first played the demo thinking "wow this is great." And was looking forward to the release. I powered up my PS3 & started to play. The first level was a bit "restricting" because the only force powers offered were force grip & push. This problem is solved by adding a new force power and upgrades after each level. The button layout is very easy to use and remember as each power is added to the list. The enemies react like real people would. If you can survive the enemy attack u can play around with the survivors which can be hilarious. While trying to figure out what force power you need to use to solve the puzzle u ask yourself "Why do I need to do this if I'm the ultimate Sith (or Jedi) warrior?" &"why do I need to think when I can blast the force into anything?" This makes you ask "Why am i at the same planets doing almost the same thing I did to clear it a few hours ago?". The alternate ending is mostly why the replay value is high. Even though it has it's problems this is the best and most enjoyable Star Wars game I've ever played. For every problem there is 10 good things about it. This game has a solid story and characters (but some people don't have much thought put into them). This game makes a good addition to the Star Wars saga. Like most games it has its ups ad downs but its still an amazing game. May the force be with you player!

If you are a Star Wars fan this game is a must buy, just because it adds to you Star Wars saga. It feels as if a movie in between movies. The graphics are totally amazing with the attaks and melees are a blast. I've played for quite a bit of time the first day just to get the hang of it and found myself playing longer then expected. You really feel as if you are a character in the Star Wars Saga. The only thing I can see a negative on it so far is the blocking you cant walk and block at the same time(maybe you have to aquire the skill, but dont know just yet)I would recommend this to action gamers.

This is a great game and a must buy period hands down!!! you jump right in as darth vader against wookies!!!I played the demo on the playstation network and cannot stop playing. Can't wait for the full version of this game. I got to see a walkthru of this game and this game is amazing. best Star wars game to date so far. this game continues the story line between episode 3 to then Star wars a new hope. the combos used of a jedi is awesome you can pick up jawas and kick them. use your lightsaber to the full capability of the jedi force. I will pick up this game.. the only thing will be I might have to get for ps3 and psp being the ps3 will not have multiplayer mode and a chance to play reinactments of lightsaber duels. example luke vs darth or other lightsaber duels ben kenobi vs darth etc.

This game is a must buy for any Star Wars fan. The game is very fun at first with the Force Powers you wield, Grip, Lightning, Push, Impale, etc. The lightsaber duels are even better, the cinematic sequences toward the end are nice as well. Although, this game does get repetitive and I feel as if you did not enjoy the story line or the Star Wars plot itself, you will become bored of this unless you are a Achievement/Trophy hunter. Overall, A nice game to play on a rainy day as well as entertaining for young fans.

I downloaded the demo on my PS3 and have played the one level quite a few times. The ability to pick up and throw just about every thing you see is great. I played around with the different light saber moves, you have many different forms of attack. If the full version is anything like the demo, this will be one of the best Star Wars games. The graphics and the AI are great so far. I have already recommended the demo to friends (they enjoyed it also). THis is a MUST buy and I'm counting down the days until release.

This game ROCKS, got it in the mail on Friday the 12th. It is awesome, starts off as Vader straight owning some Wookies. Then has you go into some training (which takes a whole 1 mintute) and then you become the apprentice. It sucks cause you start off as Vader and have cool moves like the lightning and the death grip killing thing lol, and then you become the apprentice with just force push and force grab...but you get force lightning a couple levels later. Im only 2 days into the game, but it is AWESOME. Def. the best star wars game to date! Sorry about saying all that, but had to prove I own the game already (since its not out yet). Anyways its a good game, def worth the money!

The Force Unleashed is one of the greatest Star Wars games made next to Knights of the Old Republic. The gameplay is good, and the use of force powers is excellent, you can finally use powers with a nice display of its use due to its nice graphics. Boss battles are fun in ways, once the boss's health reaches near zero your plunged into a quick button hit/mash, which shows the last seconds of the fight in a nice cinematic way. Also with the announcement of Ultimate Sith Edition will add more gameplay, due to its extra three levels which you become a Sith Lord after the bad ending of the main story and hunt down the last of the Jedi in the rebellion.

I love this game! I've beaten it twice, once on easy and once on normal. I'm working on hard right now. This game is rather short, but has great replay value. It never gets boring. Plus, I still can't find all the Holocrons. As a huge fan of Star Wars, I highly recommend this game! I'm looking forward to Force Unleashed II, coming in 2010!

I downloaded a demo on the PS3 and found it to be great. I've played the one level a few times now and I keep finding amazing ways to throw people off edges and destroy tie fighters. The physics in this game are great. Glass breaks where you hit it. Metal doors bend inward as you force push them. All in all, this game will be fun for those veterans to the star wars saga and newbies alike.
