    Awsome Movie

Shortly after the destruction of Starkiller Base, General Leia Organa leads the evacuation of Resistance forces from D'Qar, when a First Order fleet arrives. Against Leia's orders, Poe Dameron leads a costly counterattack that destroys a First Order dreadnought. The remaining Resistance escapes into hyperspace, but the First Order uses a device to track them, and attacks again. Kylo Ren hesitates to fire on the lead Resistance ship after sensing his mother Leia's presence, but his wingmen destroy the bridge, killing most of the Resistance's leaders. Leia is dragged into space, but survives by using the Force. While Leia recovers, Vice Admiral Holdo assumes command of the Resistance. Running low on fuel, the remaining fleet is pursued by the First Order. Rey, having traveled to Ahch-To with Chewbacca and R2-D2 aboard the Millennium Falcon, attempts to recruit Luke Skywalker to the Resistance. Under self-imposed exile, Luke refuses to help and says that the Jedi should end; but, encouraged by R2-D2, he eventually begins to teach Rey about the Force. Rey and Kylo begin communicating through the Force, puzzling them both. After Kylo tells Rey what happened between him and Luke that caused him to choose the dark side, Luke confesses that he momentarily contemplated killing Kylo upon sensing that Snoke was corrupting him; this prompted Kylo to destroy Luke's new Jedi Order. Convinced that Kylo can be redeemed, Rey leaves Ahch-To. Luke prepares to burn the Jedi library, but hesitates. Luke's late teacher Yoda appears as a spirit, destroys the library by summoning a bolt of lightning, and encourages Luke to learn from his failure. Meanwhile, Poe entrusts Finn, mechanic Rose Tico, and BB-8 with a secret mission to find someone who can deactivate the First Order's tracking device, whom Maz Kanata says they can find in the casino town of Canto Bight. They meet the hacker DJ, and escape the city with the help of some stablehand children and riding animals they set free. Finn, Rose, and DJ infiltrate Snoke's ship, arriving at the same time as Rey, but are captured by Captain Phasma. Meanwhile, Kylo brings Rey to Snoke, who says that he facilitated the connection between her and Kylo as part of a plan to defeat Luke. Holdo plans to evacuate the remaining Resistance members using small transport vessels. Believing her plan to be cowardly and futile, Poe leads a mutiny. Leia recovers and stuns Poe, allowing the evacuation to begin. Holdo remains on the ship to mislead Snoke's fleet as the others flee to an abandoned base on Crait. On the First Order flagship, DJ buys his freedom by revealing the Resistance's plan to General Hux, and the First Order fleet begins firing on the evacuation transports, destroying many of them. Ordered to kill Rey, Kylo instead kills Snoke and defeats his guards alongside Rey. Rey hopes that Kylo has abandoned the dark side, but he instead asks her to rule the galaxy with him. Refusing, she and Kylo battle using the Force to obtain the Skywalker lightsaber, splitting it in two. Holdo sacrifices herself by ramming into Snoke's flagship at lightspeed, crippling it. Meanwhile, Rey escapes while Kylo declares himself Supreme Leader. BB-8 frees Finn and Rose; they defeat Phasma and join the survivors on Crait. When the First Order arrives, Poe, Finn, and Rose attack with old speeders. Rey and Chewbacca draw TIE fighters away in the Falcon, while Rose prevents Finn from sacrificing himself to destroy the enemy siege cannon, which subsequently penetrates the Resistance fortress. Luke appears and confronts the First Order to allow the surviving Resistance to escape. Kylo orders the First Order's forces to fire on Luke, who is unharmed. He then engages Luke in a lightsaber duel; upon striking Luke, Kylo realizes that Luke is not physically present but only appearing through a projection of the Force. Rey helps the remaining Resistance escape on the Falcon. Luke, exhausted, dies peacefully on Ahch-To, becoming one with the Force. Rey and Leia sense his death, and Leia tells her that the Resistance can rise again. At Canto Bight, the stablehands recount the story of Luke Skywalker; afterward, one of them moves a broom with the Force and gazes into space

The Last Jedi steel book is one of the best steel books I own. The art work on covers and inside are gorgeous and the raised title on the cover is a nice touch. As for the movie, itself, it holds up. I watched it for the third time, and I actually appreciate it even more. It's a beautifully shot, artfully made film. Sure, it's not perfect, but no Star Wars movie is. It still has some of the best action sequences of any Star Wars film, and easily the best cinematography. I appreciate that it takes risks and that the main characters have actual arcs with obstacles — both internally and externally — to overcome. I think, over time, Rian Johnson will get a lot more credit for the beautiful film he has made and how it has helped expand the possibilities for the franchise going forward.

    A #MustHave In Your Collection

In the process of changing over (as most of us have done) from DVD to BluRay, one of the pieces in the Star Wars Saga is now complete in my library. I grew up watching all of these stories that showed us the journey of characters like Luke, Han (who I always wanted to be as a kid), Yoda, and now the new comers telling the story: Ray, Fin, Poe and others. I think I've watched it about 4-5 times now and each time I take away something different...and that's the #magic that is Star Wars! Can't wait for Decembers' new installment of the Saga as it continues yet once again! Perfect addition to my collection here at home, and as the summary said, for anyone thinking about it...well, it's a #MustHave. Thanks guys. Tom~ (Little Rock)

I'm just going to avoid a movie review because that can be gotten anywhere. The real reason why anyone is here is because this is a steelbook release. You get a steel case of the movie with its beautiful cover art. Front side being the protagonist and the back side with a reflecting antagonist version. The printing uses a glossy layer which helps prevent any noticeable scratches of the paint. The inside also has a neat shot of the speeders from the battle of Crait. Over that is the disc holders with space above each other so they don't touch. The content includes a blu-ray version of the movie, a 4k blu-ray version, a HD digital copy, and a blu-ray bonus disc. I think anyone with an interest in this steelbook with be satisfied with it!

Being the last statement of Star Wars saga (besides the one coming up soon) I had never been disappointed, it is a great movie with great actors, packed with action and awesome fx (as always). I do really love this movie despite it being probably the most disliked Star Wars movie to date which I don't understand because most of the bad comments about this movie I read, are with no fundament or explanation why they didn't like it, anyway, I'm a SW fan and if you are too, I will recommend it. Waiting for the next chapter.

I loved it? Then why only the four-star? Well, as a Star Wars Fan, I've loved every episode out, even number 1 with Jar-Jar Binks. As always, and to be expected, the special effects are great, though not unexpected. Characters are rather flat and predictable. Mark Hamill continues as Luke Skywalker, but his acting seems artificial and contrived. So, while I love Star Wars, I can't give it a true 5-star rating because acting is inconsistent, plot is predictable, and nothing in the special effects department is groundbreaking. (If I was to be totally honest, if you're not a Star Wars fan, this movie is more realistically a 3-star feature.)

Good movie but they are starting to drift away from what Star Wars started out as, Some of these new movies deserve their spot in the star wars saga but I am afraid that the PC culture we are currently in is taking its toll and will get worse as time goes on. Sad really. Star Wars was a great movie when it came out when I was just 8 and stoked the imagination of my brother, sister and I. The story was great, the actors were not polished to perfection and carbon copies of each other and the atmosphere was gritty with the good old fashion good verses evil. For some reason I am not feeling that in the newer movies and why I only gave 4 stars.

    The Skywalker Saga Continues

The second film that restarted the Star Wars franchise. J.J. Abrams again produces magic. Rey begins her training under the watchful eye of Luke Skywalker, but has a strange connection with Kylo Ren of the First Order. All of the classic Star Wars characters are present ( except for Han Solo), as well as the characters we met in the Force Awakens. We even find out how much Luke has grown in the Force. But there are some new characters that help to expand the Star Wars universe. There are the exciting moments we've come to expect in previous Star Wars films, but we find there are elements we didn't know about. A must See!

As I mentioned in a different review, this edition isn’t worth purchasing for aesthetics alone. But if you’re aloof about your movie collection OR already have the other steel books, it’s a nice touch. The movie got a lot of mixed reviews, primarily (it seemed) from grown men fawning over their childhood aspirations to become Jedi. It’s a good continuation of the Saga for a new generation that encompasses the new technologies available in filmmaking. Nothing is ever going to compare to the first time we saw the scrolling text across a backdrop of stars with orchestral music in the background but this makes a decent attempt.

With all due respect to the spectacular stuff that will feed the planet’s appetite for a new episode—and to the solemnity of Mark Hamill’s battle-weary Luke—“Star Wars: The Last Jedi” lives in 2 of its women: General Leia, played by Carrie Fisher for the last time (mostly, in the film’s turbulent present, but also in a flash of hologram that reminds us how bright and dear Princess Leia was when we 1st met her decades ago); and Daisy Ridley’s Rey, the former scavenger of unknown parentage who is the story’s driving force—as distinct from Force.

It was a very good movie. Being a fan of Star Wars of more than 20 years ago, it brought back the fun of what the movie was supposed to be and how it drew you in. Great cast and really a life long story to reflect back on. Enter new characters, new attitudes and new roles to play that are not that far off of the original cast's roles. Sprinkle in Luke and Leah, you get a winner. The new cast will be great. So bring on the next few movies and let's start a new generation of Star Wars fans.

Being a fan as a kid in the 70s, the story has always been something that I have loved. Through all the odd dialog, there are always amazing battles, heroes to cheer for and villains to love/hate. Seeing Luke Skywalker, my hero, help build a new story for me and future fans to enjoy was a crowning achievement for this director. They could have continued to follow old tropes and just spoon fed the audience, but Ryan Johnson instead added new layers to a deep universe. One of the best Star War movies.

4K video and sound are excellent on this disc. A devisive movie in the Star Wars series, the director made some bold decisions. If the final chapter in the series added to this, instead of trying to rewrite it we could have considered this a stronger entry.

So many Star Wars fans hate this movie with a burning passion. Here is the reality: this movie was directed by someone that clearly was not a Star Wars fan. They messed with things and ruined some characters that have been developed and loved for decades. With all that said, it has some of the greatest scenes in all of Star Wars history. Some absolutely stunning visuals and effects. Definitely recommend the movie but if you love Star Wars you may be disappointed in the plot.

This is the middle part of the new Star Wars trilogy and it delivers just as well as did Empire Strikes Back years ago. I won't spoil it for the few people left on the planet who haven't seen it, but it has less triumphant moments than somber moments. I believe that will happen in the next movie, I hope. But for all that happens in this movie, its story depth and visual fireworks make this a fantastic continuation in the whole timeline.

Like many people, I didn't see how this movie expanded on The Force Awakens storyline. Perhaps it will make more sense with the final movie in this trilogy. I was always a fan of Han Solo more than Luke Skywalker, so I didn't mind where this movie went with Luke. I actually liked the running-out-of-fuel chase, especially because it was a different drama than we've seen before. Overall, this is a worthy addition to the Star Wars saga.

OK, no Star Wars film is EVER going to blow you away like the first one you saw in a theater as a kid. And no Star Wars film is EVER going to please every super hard-core fan. However, if you have pleasant memories of the original trilogy, this takes that story line further, a generation later. Since it's the middle of its own trilogy, it kind of leaves you hanging a bit (as middle films in trilogies always do) but it's still pretty good.

A lot of people whined and complained about how The Last Jedi ruined their idea of Star Wars. However the franchise & saga needed some wrenches thrown in the mix to kind of switch up expectations and not quite do the expected. Story points, cinematography, and characters got a slight change in order to provide new insight into something people had gotten used to. The end result was a bit of a mixed bag, but I appreciated most of it.

Pros: this steelbook looks very well I love how captain Phasma and Rey look on this steelbook It’s a cool color Cons: Let me just say this was a huge downgrade of a steelbook design they should’ve done something similar like the last movie where it was in a holographic smooth nice to touch box and said collectors edition this steelbook is nice either way but still wish they would’ve done a little bit more

I'm a huge star wars fan, and after my first viewing I was not sold, but after a few more views It has grown on me. The movie has its story problems, but it does move the story along at an entertaining pace. I can't wait to see where JJ takes the finale. From a 4k technical standpoint, this movie looks and sounds fantastic. The special features are okay. Enough behind the scenes stuff to keep me interested. Overall it's worth owning.
