I am a Star Wars fan since a child from vhs to bluray. Although this format is much better.

This was great to show my 6 year old and a nice flashback to the old days.

I like the movies on this set of disk they are verry intertaning.

Really, how can I review Star Wars. It's simply the standard.

This movie, as with all star wars movie, was great.

If Lucas releases these remastered, re-edited 1997 version on Blu-ray then he should have the decency to include the original versions in full Anamorphic 16 x 9, with 5.1 surround sound without any of the edits. Film presevationists, Star Wars enthusiasts, and science fiction fans around the world are outraged that Lucas has refused to release these treasures for his fan base. You remember us, right Mr. Lucas? The ones who lined your pockets with gold who lined up multiple times to watch the originals in the movie theaters in 1977, 1980 and 1983. Our memories of these movies is something that you should value and demonstrate the most basic respect that many other film directors have mustered by releasing alongside of the new director's cut, the original uncut version. This includes Peter Jackson (Lord of the Rings), Ridley Scott (Blade Runner), Francis Ford Coppola (Apocalypse Now!) and Steven Spielberg (Close Encounters of the Third Kind). With Blu Ray format space is no excuse. The technology exists. Please.

This is Star Wars. The original trilogy. I did purchase the prequel before this at Bestbuy but it can't beat the originals. I was there when the 2nd two sequels came out. I collected many of the original action figures and other toys. When I watch these movies I not only see movie but I even see a flashback of my life when they came out. They added some good special fx and some more scenes that was not in the original. I could say they ruined it because of that but it actually compliments the movies. Buy it and like it. I now got the whole saga and given the chance I would purchase and other additions of sequels or prequels. I don't see that happening so I have to accept what I got.

This has NOT been newly remastered for this blue ray from the original prints it’s from the old added cg. re-release master, so the picture is not as good as it could be and this is not the original release it has all the added unnecessary and some times overly cute cg. I’m sure if you wait long enough they will capitalize on a new remastered version then an original version.

Great movies, picture quality is fantastic. Really enjoyable still despite some unnecessary changes. Note that if you like the prequels and want all the extras, the full saga may be more worth your time.

We bought this to share the original Star Wars trilogy with our kids. They love playing Lego Star Wars and we wanted them to see the movies. The packaging is simple yet nice for the 6 movies and the movies look great on our HDTV. I can't comment on audio because I do not currently have the surround hooked up. I wish it was sold as a combo with both Blue Ray & DVD because we have Blue Ray in house but only DVD in our van. Anyway great movies that still look great today.

Well, we all know George. This is the 1st release of the films to blu ray & it will NOT be the last. We know he will release them numerous times on blu ray. This set is the original three films on three discs. All wide screen. The only extras are commentary. So, this is you bones bare set-if you just want the original three films then this is for you. The six disc complete set is better BUT not perfect. Rating for films NOT for package-package would get a 3.

Ok I am confused. The first reviewer claims this is the original theatrical release movies, and not the remastered. The second reviewer claims it is the remastered movies, and not the original theatrical release movies. So... which is it? And how can we tell? But... no matter. Either way, having these (original or remastered) on BR will definitely be the cat's meow! :-)

This is a great buy, especially for the first two movies. Return of the Jedi seems to have started the downward trend that continues with the most recent trilogy. The packaging of the disks seems satisfactory, picture quality is also nice.

Seeing this on Blu-Ray was amazing. You could see details invisible previously. I watched with my 4 year old son watching it for the first time. It seemed like the first time for me too. The quality was that good.

Finally the best movie saga is going to be available in blu ray! i only have one complaint. why arent both eidtions of episodes 4-6 available on the the complete set or the orignal trilogy set???

For those wondering because the packaging fails to specify...this set contains the versions with the added special effects and footage. These are NOT the original unaltered films. Also the picture quality is the same as the DVD so if you have the DVD set don't bother with this.

The newer versions were ok, was cool to see them back in the theatre again & we have to respect that Lucas got to finish what he always wanted to. However they shoul atleast give us the option to choose the classic version we saw as kids, think I saw all three at a drive in lol. I didnt care for the newer versions, the music number at Jabbas Palace was just dumb & Jabba looked like a punk in A New Hope. In my opinion if it aint broke dont fix it, but Lucas got old & had to cramp his own style. Ive had the classic on VHS then dvd, but wont be upgrading to BlueRay till the original comes out if ever...
