Lucas may have owned the rights and had the control but there is no excuse for changing a classic movie regardless of whether or not it was done to supposedly enhance it. If you are going to make changes, at least release both the original and the enhanced version together as other movies have been.

One of my discs was skipping and freezing. It managed to cotinue but annoying

I watched the original Star Wars in the movie theaters a long time ago and purchased the original VHS tapes. I really didn't like the added scenes on the DVD. I am going to try to purchase the DVD, if there are any that show the movies as they were originally. Very disappointed.

I hadn't seen these movies since I watched them in the theater when they first came out. Very disappointed by the changes from what I remembered them to be.

Theatrical release BluRay is never going to happen, so this was a reluctant purchase.

Couple of glitches (digital noise) on "Episode 4" made this an irritating purchase for me. That and the DVDs...if I wanted DVDs I would have bought the set in that obsolete format. Still, I enjoyed watching the movies in BR with my 12 year old daughter, who has recently acquired a taste for pop culture.

I realized I just don't care for Star Wars at all anymore. I guess I liked it as a kid, but not now. Waste of money.

This has been by far one of the best movie ever. Everyone needs to watch it

Well, can we blame George since he sold to Disney. Being a Star Wars collector for over 33 years we veterans know how many times he released the first 3 films on video tape & laser disc. He held off for a while releasing to DVD then when he did you had to watch out. Over and over again released. It took to 2011 to get the films on blu ray. The nine disc set then the 2 blu ray sets of the 2 sets of films. Now, here we are. Release AGAIN on blu ray but the difference DVD's included because we veterans do NOT have the films enough on DVD. No special extras on this set. If you are a collector, like me, you will purchase this set. Otherwise, you can get better blu ray & DVD sets of the films than this one. Rating for films NOT the package.

This is a must have for any star wars fan I bought both this set and the first set with episodes1, 2, and 3 plus all 6 of the steelbooks with this its really cool that not only do you get all 3 of the original films completely remastered on Blu-ray but you also get them on dvd as well for the price its definitely worth it for 3 Blu-ray discs and 3 dvd discs I would highly recommend this to any star wars or movie fan to add this to your collection.
