Stargate SG-1 is one of the longest running, and one of the best, sci-fi series on TV. SG-1 ranks among the likes of Twilight Zone in terms of quality. The series picks up where the movie left off (an ancient alien device called the 'Stargate' is used for interstellar travel) and expands on the universe created in the movie. Stargate was a good movie, but SG-1 takes the concept and improves on it. All of the actors do a fantastic job as their respective characters, Richard Dean Anderson's portrayal of O'Neill and Christopher Judge's Teal'c are partcularly noteworthy. As in the movie, SG-1 works Egyptian mythology into the story very effectively, and also incorporates Norse and, in later seasons, Arthurian mythology as well. All very well tthought out. Most Sci-Fi TV tends to be cerebral, SG-1 focuses more on action. There is no shortage of action scenes in Stargate SG-1. The action scenes are exciting to watch and feature some of the best visual effects ever seen in weekly TV. The music complements the series nicely. As with the movie, the soundtrack features a mix of symphonic music and Egyptian motifs and even some great choral arrangement. The DVD extras feature in-depth looks at the production of the series, from set construction and costume design to the amazing visual effects. There is even an interview with Christopher Judge where he relates his exeriences at his first Sci-Fi convention appearance. The pilot episode, 'Children of the Gods' is outstanding and serves as both a sequel to the movie and a pilot to the TV series. It takes a few episode for SG-1 to hit its stride, but it hits its stride about midway into the first season and is really one of the most consistently outstanding series on TV. If you are a fan of Sci-Fi, then check out Stargate SG-1, one of the best franchises in TV history! And this collection gives you the whole series in one set.

Bought this for my hubby who is a huge sci-fi fan and he is very happy with it ! I guess you have to be a fan of this series to really watch it like he does, he is zoned out , but what I wanted to write about was the effort the people at Best Buy put into getting this for me ! It was out of print and the manufacturer was not sending anymore but they tracked it down through many channels and found 6 sitting in the national warehouse and found a way to send it to my home. Many employees had a hand in this , Thanks to them all My Hubby had a nice Father's Day !

This is a great collection with 4 bonus discs. I like the booklet giving a summary of the episodes, cause sometimes I get confused and if I just want to watch one episode, its nice to be able to quickly find it. I recommend this to anyone who loves Startgate or someone who has never seen it to get hooked. Good job Stargate!!

This is the ultimate Stargate fans' collection. With all 10 action packed seasons, the studio has finally done justice to the fan base. The bonus content in this package carries the viewer on a journey to understand the minds and creativity behind the longest running science fiction series in history. It is a wonderfully produced collection. While the series has ended, at least the movies and Stargate: Atlantis will keep us going!

Stargate SG-1 the entire series. Just amazing to be able to watch any episode at any time, plus the extras are something you just can't get on TV. The box is also rather nice, though a bit difficult to store, since it won't go flat due to the stargate emblem on the front.

It has all 10 seasons in it and 4 extra cool discs with special features that has never before scene features and some that were shown on tv.

Out of all the DVD's I have, this is by far my best. I love this series. The set is incredible from packaging to features. This is a definite must have.

This is a great box set, wonderful show for ten years. Must see, you'll enjoy. Long time fan...

A must see for fans of science fiction. Many very original plots not seen on other Sci-Fi shows.

stargate sg-1 is the most awesome movie their is !!! The fact they have it in the complete series is wonderful! I would sugest this movie to anyone and have told some people its out at bestbuy.

Perfect for the Stargate fans who want it all with lots of extras

I was very excited to receive this set however once we began to play the dvds we found them scratched and in some cases defective and even dirty we returned the set and got an other one and although not as bad as the first set we found that some discs were defective ...if you get this set check all dvds (and there are a lot of them) we returned the second set and gave up ..MGM did a poor job with this big set
