This is one of the all time great movies with incredible special effects and a great plot that keeps you on the edge of your seat. Lots of action, suspense and a bit of romance for good measure. Anyone into science fiction movies will love this. I was really glad when it came to BluRay because the scenery in beautiful and that format enhances it. I own four copies so I always have a backup.

Kurt russel represents america and blows up a very expensive space station, he did it with so much conviciton he shoulda won da oscar. My boy James spader in this flick, he still has hair and looks really scared, but he like indiana jones in this movie trine keep the peace. but some crazy alien egyptian aint having it, so guess what, they fight about it.

My wife has been hooked on James Spader ever since she saw him as Alan Shore on Boston Legal, so when she found out about this movie, she HAD to have it to get her (what she calls) Spader Fix. This movie is great, It launched a couple of series' (SG-1 and Atlantis), never watched those, so can't really respond about them.

While this image is simple compared to some other steelbooks, it is striking and kind of iconic considering everything this movie has inspired. I am very glad this came with the Digital Copy as well. A welcome addition to my collection.

Or so James Spader says. I'm not eating any green lizards! But we will watch this movie more than once - in fact I think I've seen it 3 or 4 times already. Spun off into a TV series which was pretty good, but the original movies seem to be the ones to re-watch. Don't miss this if you've never seen it!

The Stargate video was top notch and played perfectly for me. I had been wanting this video for a long time. I turned to Best Buy to make it happen. Thanks a million for the good service I received. Regards, Joseph

I'll admit, I'm a sucker for StarGate. I enjoyed the film greatly in its theatrical run and have bought it on DVD and Blu-Ray (twice, as the first release of it was pretty poorly done). I even greatly enjoyed the TV series, despite their taking it in very different directions. If you enjoyed the film and don't have it on Blu-ray yet, this is the copy to get. Much better picture and (especially) sound.

I have loved this movie for a long time now. And just discovered that Blacklist and Stargate have James Spader in common, so I decided to re-watch the movie. This version (20th anniversary) has the extended version which I appreciate.

I absolutely loved it. I actually remembered it unfavorably from when I was a kid.. but I decide to give it another go. Boy was I in for a surprise. Something about this movie really struck a cord with me. ..i'm not saying it was aliens.

If you liked the television series, you should like this movie that started it all. Kurt Russell is his usual hard-nosed character and James Spader (in his youthful long-hair days) is quite different than his characters in "Boston Legal" or "Blacklist"!

Stargate is one of my favorite Sci-Fi movies. I already had it on DVD, but I have been swapping out some of my movies for Blu-ray. The Blu-ray picture and sound quality are amazing. The added bonus features and extended version really sealed the deal.

Loved this movie when I first watched it in the theaters back in the 90's. If you are a history fanatic, especially Egyptian history, this movie puts a new twist on what you know and takes you away into the other side of the universe.

I love this movie and was so stoked when I saw that it was on BluRay. I remember watching it all the time when I was a kid and I couldn't wait to pop it into my PS4 and do it again. Definitely would recommend watching this movie.

Compelling science fiction action film. Character development reaches a level seldom seen in the two hours of a typical film. This film draws you in with a solid story line. It is not hard to suspend disbelief during this one.

One of my favorite sci-fi films looks fantastic in blu-ray. This is what kicked off the long running Stargate SG-1 (and other spin-offs) television series. If you haven't seen the movie but enjoyed the show, you have to watch it.

I've loved this movie since it first came out in theaters ages ago. I've owned it on VHS and DVD, and now I'm glad it's finally on Blu-ray. The costumes and effects deserve to be in HD and I was not disappointed!

Classic Si-Fi that spawned years of TV shows got worthy remade in this Blue Ray edition. Good attempt always worth the effort..

The film that launched the series! A great sci-fi movie. It's classic 90s. Good actors great "draw you in" movie. Fun to watch and comes in a cool collectible steelbook case.

I have been looking for this movie for some time on dvd or blu ray. I fell in love with the Stargate tv show and wanted the movie for completion sakes. The movie itself is excellent and good for any sci-fi lover.

Stargate is a good sci-fi classic. The blue-ray definition version is definitely a great revisit to the old classic. The desert in the movie looks like I'm there because the picture is so clear. Highly recommended.
