Although BB computer experts recommended drive it didn't work with my 1T SSD. Called StarTech who advised enclose not designed for my SSD. Don't trust BB experts. What they recommend is not always correct.

I purchased this to use a external NVME storage option but the case has had issues since day one. The connection via the usb cable keeps dropping. I would not recommend this product. It has a very cheap feel to it.

The socket to interface with my M2 SSD did not work ... this item did not work!

Although it does work for older NGFF drives, it does not work for newer NVME drives (clue is that the NVMEs seem like they are about to fit but never slide in completely). Uses fragile screws which feel like they will get stripped, and can also get easily lost. The competition works for both NGFF and NVME, and has no screws.

We do apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. While we do have newer models that support both SATA and NVMe, the SM21BMU31C3 is an earlier model that only provided support for B-key SATA based M.2 drives, and will not work with NVMe. Brandon, StarTech.com Support
