It's definitely a cheap way to keep the gopro stable but it does require some practice. Once you get the proper weights on to match your gopro (i.e. if it has an lcd backpack or battery pack or clean configuration) then you put the index finger and thumb on the rubber ring and you stabilize it as you walk. Unlike other stabilizers, this one can also lock into position so it can be used as a stick. Of course if you have the money go for a gimbal but this was a cheap alternative. The footages looks great especially if you record in 60 fps and you slow it down, it creates a very smooth view when you pan around an object.

Easier than a real steadicam but still requires a lot of practice. Once you get the hang of it you can get some nice smooth shots
