I had a Logitech mechanical keyboard with brown switches on it. It was a model # 610. I enjoyed it while I had it but the key caps began to break and popoff every time I typed. I tried to find replacements but there were only one company with one rating that had them and they wanted $40.00. Ouch! Thus, my search for another keyboard. I had Steelcase keyboards on my MSI laptops. I always really love them and felt that they served me really well. I looked through the reviews and decided on this model. Although I spend a lot of time on a keyboard both day and night using it for activities such as programming, writing, composing music, digital art work and gaming; I felt this keyboard would service me well for my needs. I was not disappointed. The feel is very much like a mechanical keyboard but with a much quieter stroke which I really needed since I am sometimes up early or late typing while others are still sleeping. The response on both the down and up stroke are really good, The shape of the keys are done well and I don't find my fingers searching as often as I had to on the Logitech keyboard. My typing accuracy has gone up as a result. It has a definable RGB lighting system on it but believe or not, I didn't buy it for that. In fact, I would be happy if it simply had a light on or off with variable levels of intensity to make it dim or bright. I haven't had it that long yet but I know my SteelSeries keyboards on my MSI laptops never ever broke and continued to perform well for many years. I strongly recommend this keyboard if your simply wanting a quality keyboard with a nice response to it. The wrist pad that comes with it is nice as well and was an unexpected feature with it. The price is very good as well for this level of quality. I am retired and on fixed income so dollars do make a difference for me. Best Buy had this keyboard in stock and delivered it two days early. Amazon was out of stock with a two week or more delivery date on it.

If your looking for a smooth quiet keyboard for an office setting or work at home this is a great budget keyboard. I primarily use this in an office setting and my coworkers don't mind it like my other keyboards I use. The rgb isn't too bright and can dimmed if needed. The restpad Is a little stiff but still provides some comfort so If you have sensitive wrists or wrist pain I would not recommend using the provided rest pad. Use your own or go get one. The key strikes are smooth no lagging of any kind. No negatives that I can point at due to the limited capabilities it has. I don't use the software to adjust any settings just needed a better but quiet keyboard then what the office provides.

The best rubber dome keyboard on the market.

I've been through the whole mechanical keyboard phase and realize that i just prefer the feel of rubber domes. Now i'm still pretty picky with my rubber dome boards. One of my two biggest things is keycap wiggle and stabilizer rattle. This board has the LEAST amount of wiggle in the keycaps and they are super smooth when typing. Some other rubber domes boards you can feel the friction between plastics sliding against each other on each keystroke, but not this Steelseries board. The plastics they are using actuate very smooth. And the keys do not wiggle much at all. You will understand what im talking about once you type on this board. The stabilizers did have a little rattle out of the box, for the price its forgiven and easily fixed! All you need to do if take the spacebar off and shove a little saranwrap into where the metal stabilizer presses into. This will fill any tolerance there was that allowed the metal to wiggle causing that rattle sound. After this "mod" all the stabilizers feel just as thocky and silent as those higher end boards. Also love the wrist rest and volume knob. Love the whole keyboard in general... so happy with this purchase. Been using it for a few months now and no complaints have come up. If you prefer rubber domes get one of these and try it out for yourself!

So if you’re like me and were wanting to change from a noisy keyboard to a silent one, then this is the right one for you! I’m going to college soon and I mainly game at night so I didn’t want my roommate to have to suffer by hearing my keyboard click-clacking all night. I’ve only had it for a few days but this is genuinely the best keyboard I’ve had, the keys are smooth and when typing you can’t hear a thing. I also really love how bright the RGB is and the ease of controls when and if you want to change the keyboard colors, all you need to do is download the app that should pop up once you plug in your keyboard correctly. It’s literally just a plug and play. Simple as that. So if you’re in need of a new keyboard this is the one for you and if not, well you’ll definitely regret not having this one.

I love this keyboard! I bought a SteelSeries Apex Pro Full Sized Wired OmniPoint keyboard back in 2020. It did great! For one quarter the price, I like this keyboard much more. The keys aren't as raised off the base; shorter buttons which makes tipping with long girly nails much more enjoyable and comfortable. Clicking is smoother and the colors are stunning pastel rainbows. It doesn't have the full custom color capability as the Apex Pro, but that doesn't bother me. I use both keyboards every day, the Apex Pro is outside in my office but I prefer this Apex 3 keyboard inside more.

Really good value with a few flaws

The price point on sale was the selling point. After using this on a daily basis I did find out some "flaws". Overall the keyboard mechanics are solid as expected from a mechanical keyboard. The strokes are confident and responsive, even for light presses. There are two flaws that keep me from really loving this keyboard: 1) The indicator light are in a spot that you cannot see them unless your are directly over the keyboard, which at a sitting position you are not. There is no way to see if your Caps Lock is on. You can only see the Num Lock because it sits right at the gap in an angle that provides direct lone of sight. The rest of the lights are probably 1 or 2 CM behind the top row of numpad keys which sit up pretty high. Would have made more sense to put the lights on the top edge of the keyboard instead. 2) The backlight is dim on some keys in a way the screen glare overpowers the light making the number row hard to see. I fixed by raising the keyboard back with some post-it notes so the glare angle allows me to see the number. With the glare there is not enough contrast on the lighted numeral to see. The letters are at a different angle and are not affected as much. I experimented with different color lights to see but even with the brightest setting my screen glare was too much.

I'm not the most serious gamer, but I am very particular about my keyboards. I tend to prioritize volume, but a satisfying amount of travel is also up there. When it says "whisper quiet", it takes it seriously. I haven't heard a keyboard with this amount of travel be this quiet. It rivals my previous keyboard, which was a very flat bluetooth keyboard, so for a full size gaming keyboard, that's saying something. The rest of the features are also pretty nice: wide RGB range, super easy brightness control, easy customization with Steelseries Engine (although to you may have to find workarounds or specific configurations for games on your own, but this isn't a dealbreaker for me), convenient volume roller, and a magnetic detachable wrist rest. For about fifty bucks. Basically, if you're looking to start skewing your setup towards gaming and looking for the highest quality budget option, I couldn't reommend this more.

For the price, this is an excellent keyboard. The keys are very tactile and give you good feedback without being "super clicky." You can control the RGB backlighting of the keys easily with the accompanying software. The media-controls and macro buttons are simple to use without being in-your-face and intrusive. The magnetic wrist-rest is a nice touch -- it stays put when you want it, but it's easy to detach when you want it out of the way.

The perfect keyboard! The colors can be programmed into ten different zones through Steelseries' program (downloaded from their website). Different color profiles can be programmed and saved as well. I was nervous about a mechanical keyboard after coming from a MacBook Pro, but I like this much better. The keys are quiet but still satisfying and easy to find. Absolutely recommend!

Very cool keyboard, most of the time the type of keyboard to get is really based upon personal preference. I think this one is good all around for anyone. It’s still a full sized keyboard but the keys seem a bit closer together which REALLY helps for gaming & not having to stretch your pinky so far to shift & ctrl. Also has Satisfying clicks that are not too loud also. Also when you hook up your keyboard & have the mouse to go along with it, you get access to a really neat app to control the RGB lights however you want also be able to change the RGB flow to correlate with the games you play. The app also includes really cool sound setting & a variation of keyboard binds that are terrific.

    Decent Keyboard For The Price

I'm not a gamer, but I have a preference for using a lighted keyboard on my business computer. I've owned this keyboard for about two weeks now and this is my experience so far. PROS: The keyboard is relatively quiet. In fact, it quieter than the last couple of keyboards I've owned that were much pricier. I have not experienced any keying errors or missed strokes. So whatever keys I press, it records it with 100% accuracy. I paid $40 for this keyboard and I feel like it is a decent deal. However, I have only owned it for two weeks. I'll have to see how long it lasts. CONS: The lighted letters and characters on the keys are a little dim, even at the brightest setting. The SHIFT key characters are displayed at the bottom of each key, not at the top where they normally are. That can be a little confusing. This is my biggest pet peeve. The CAPS LOCK light is hidden behind the numeric keypad. The SCROLL LOCK light and the W light (what's that for?) are hidden behind the numeric keypad as well. Unless you type with the keyboard directly under your nose, you'll have to physically lean forward to see which lights are on. That can be a little annoying. I happen to type with the keyboard about 6" in front of me and I cannot tell if those lights are on or off. That is a design flaw on this keyboard. I have included a photo to show the keyboard from my perspective. The hidden lights are right below the steelseries logo on the right side of the photo. The proper placement of the lights should be ABOVE the logo, not below it. I'll rate this keyboard 4 out of 5 stars.
