Great Headset For The Price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been a fan of Steelseries since the original Siberia headset. Coming from the Siberia v2, I was really eager to give the Arctis 5 a try and I am glad I did. Overall, I am very satisfied with this headset. It seems like it is built with quality and I really enjoy the look and feel of it. Before I start my review, I just want to clarify that I am using this headset for Xbox One and have used it for about 15-20 hours so far. The most important aspect of a gaming headset to me, besides sound of course, is comfort. Coming from the Siberia v2, which was a great headset but somewhat squeezed my head, the Artcis 5 seemed a little loose initially. I adjusted the headband, and it definitely seemed to help. Once I adjusted it to feel like it wasn't going to fall off, the headset became more comfortable the more I used it. They are light and very comfortable around the ears especially after hours of gaming. On my previous headset, my ears would sweat and I would get a headache after hours of gaming. With the Arctis 5, i dont have that issue at all. Your ears stay cool and there is very little pressure from the headset. The mic has a very clear sound according to my friends that I chat with on Xbox. You can also test it out using the Steelseries Engine 3, which I did and was very impressed. So far so good. I have only used this headset on Xbox and I have not played around with the audio settings using the Steelseries Engine 3 yet. That being said, I think sound is excellent. It is definitely an improvement over the Siberia v2's that I was using previously. It is very clear and I've had nothing but positive experiences so far. My only disappointment so far is that the LED lighting does not work on Xbox One. Since the console does not currently support USB headsets and you connect it using the 3.5mm adapter, the LED lights dont work. You need to connect the headset to a PC to make them work. I love the customization, but I just wished it worked on console. Since I have not tried and tested many headsets, I wont tell you this is the best headset out there. I will say that for $100, this is great headset and definitely worth the money. After more use, I will update my review.

Best mic of all time
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The arctis 5 is the best headset I have ever had. It's a one size fits all, I have a big head with a lot of hair and it feels super comfortable with the suspension band keeping it t firm on your head. The ear padding is like breathable mesh and very comfortable for long gaming sessions. I've only tried this for PC and not any console. You can only get the 7.1 surround sound on PC. All my friends I talk to say my voice is much more clear and crisp. Best mic ever I would compare the mic to some high end seinhessers. Last but not least the RGB aspect is very nice although you can't see it cause it's on your head just a nice addition to a great sleek and simple headset. Best headset for the money

Decent and will get the job done
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a good headset for the price point. They're spiffy and feel pretty solid. There are better headphone options for the money when it comes to music and movies, but compared to other over-ear mic/headphone combos they fit the bill. The software is buggy and its equalizer is very limited. When it was installed a lag developed that would come and go, along with a slight latency crackle. I uninstalled the software and rebooted, allowing the headset to be picked up by Windows as a generic headset. I then installed Equalizer APO, a freeware title. I highly recommend it to people who are serious about sound. Granted, without the SteelSeries software you probably won't be able to use DTS, set custom RGB colors, or mic noise reduction settings, but that's a small price to pay, for me. I'd rather have a decent graphic EQ and smooth performance. With the above setup, the sound is decent and the mic is clear. A clear mic is essential to me, as I participate in regular online meetings for work. Many cheaper gaming headsets have pretty lights and lousy mics, and I have to say this mic is impressive. It's often a bit too sensitive, picking up the slightest movement of my lips and tongue. But better too sensitive than not sensitive enough. Ear cups are comfortable, the whole headset is lightweight, it has a luxurious look and feel, and the smooth RGB fading is very pretty and tasteful. I took off a star for the following: - Horrendous software, as described above. - I'm also gonna complain a little about the headband, which, while comfortable, isn't very snug and allows for too much shifting. You will not be able to head-bang or work out with these on. The tiny bit of velco stitched on for adjusting is so small they might as well not be adjustable at all (and my head isn't particularly small either -- I'm a big guy with a big head, yet these still feel sorta loose). I might add some more velcro to the band, to give it some more room for tightening. - Also, while the sound output is ok, it's still not great. I'm something of an audiophile though, so take that with a grain of salt. Most consumers will probably be satisfied. All in all, I feel this is a good buy, but only because of the sad state of the gaming headset market these days. My Samsung S5 phone audio with its cheap little included earbud headset out-performs most $70 gaming headsets on the market right now. The SteelSeries Arctis offers a decent bang for your buck in comparison.

Great headset
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This headset is very comfortable and the sound is awesome. I like the fact that it can be used on PC, XBOX, and PS4. The controls are very simple and easy to access. The mic has a light on the end and when the mute button is depressed it goes off. Very easy to tell if your on mute or not. There is also a dial switch so you can adjust the chat and game volume. The software is very user friendly. The ear pieces have rgb lighting and you can customize it via the software. I gave the one I was using to my son and he loves it. I then went and purchased another one for myself. Overall I'm very satisfied with this headset.

Comfort and Quality
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been a fan of SteelSeries headsets ever since the original Siberias, but since their recent offerings were a little underwhelming I was excited to see that they were looking to revamp their line with the Arctis series. The earcups are made of easily the best feeling material I've ever had the pleasure of using on a PC gaming headset. They're essentially made of a very soft and plush foam covered by what they call their "airweave" fabric, which feels like the type of material you'd have on an athletic shirt/jersey. It stays very cool, so if in your experiences you tend to get overheated around your ears, these guys should help keep those ear temps down. Wearing glasses with them on also did not impact the comfort of this headset for me, which is a major bonus. Even though they're made of the foam/fabric material, they still did a decent job at isolating outside sound/noises. The ski mask head strap also helps with the comfort and can be adjusted to your liking. Note that you can purchase leather or velour replacement earcups from SteelSeries' website if you prefer those earcup materials over the ones that come with these or just want better sound isolation via the leather earcups (the ski mask head strap is also replaceable/customizable, as SteelSeries offers a nice selection of colors and designs on their website as well) My favorite feature with this headset is definitely the chat/game audio mixer, which allows you to adjust how loud one channel is in relation to the other at the same time. The USB interface allows the headset to show up as two distinct audio outputs (one labeled Game and the other Chat), so all you would have to do is make sure all your game audio is outputting to the Game channel and all your VOIP/in-game voice chat outputs to the Chat channel (some games may already do this by default). Rather than constantly manually adjusting game volume vs. chat volume from the sources, I just use the included dial to make the adjustments. Brilliant! Sound quality is pretty decent - I had to adjust the EQ settings within the SteelSeries Engine software because the defaults were pretty flat in my opinion, but things sounded pretty great afterwards (I'm currently using the "Performance" EQ at this time). The software allows the headset to also simulate DTS 7.1 surround, though I haven't had to turn that feature on since a lot of my games have simulated surround built into them already. Build quality is great overall as well. The entire headset is made of a very sturdy plastic material, and the earcups are on a nice, smooth swivel. It's a pretty lightweight headset, so I've been able to have long gaming sessions without having that weird extra head weight feeling. I'd definitely recommend this headset if you're looking for something that's a little lighter feeling and more comfortable without sacrificing sound quality. The game/chat mixer might improve your quality of life when it comes to gaming, and you'll wish SteelSeries had come up with that earcup material much, much sooner (seriously, I found it THAT comfortable).

Best gaming headset I have tried
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have used both a Kraken Pro and Cloud II, and I thought I really liked them till I bought my new Arctis 5. First impression was that these don't look like the stereotypical gaming headsets. And then I put them on, adjusted the headband and fell in love with the materials they used. Super comfortable. The sound made me realize what I had been missing with the other headsets - clear and sharp highs, mid and low, so you truly hear everything. My final test was with the mic - I have to say that may be the best thing about the Arctis 5. It is truly miles ahead on clarity and noise cancellation. My only complaint is the length of the cord with the chat mix dial. Overall, I LOVE this headset.

Great set of headphones - mid, high, & low
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Did a lot of research before pulling the trigger on these headphones. They sound great, look real nice, and sit comfortable over the ear. Didn't put out the extra money for the wireless version since it was a feature I wouldn't use in the foreseeable future. With a lot of headphones being bass heavy these days, it's refreshing to have a headphone that has balance. The highs aren't too high, and the lows aren't too deep - just a really balanced and solid headphone. Haven't tested the mic, but the design and accessibility of the it are really cool. The mic stashes away inside the left earpiece with a switch to turn on or off.

Superb Value
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is one of the only purchases Ive ever made without heavily checking reviews and information online. It was somewhat of an impulse buy thanks to my history with Steel Series. I used to have some high end siberias a number of years ago in my counter strike esports days that were several hundred dollars. These new Arctis are fantastic. Highs, lows, surround sound it is all there. Extremely comfortable too. Does not put a strain on my head with the strap and no hard spots on the ear muffs. Only downside is I wish the top strap was a little more adjustable, wouldnt have cost them anything to add a little extra velcro. But as is, it still fits great, could be perfect. Overall still 10/10, great performance.

Great headphones!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have bought many headsets in my life especially for gaming because I have tried out other people’s sets and hear better quality but this one caught my eye in a heartbeat! I love the overall quality and comfortable fit it has. Fits snug. I love the accessories and wires and all that it has to fit to xbox controllers, ps4 controllers, and the usb setting to go to PC! Just an amazing convenience to have instead of having different kinds of headsets for different platforms! It even works perfectly on my iPhone(obviously with the adapter).

Substantial Gaming Headphones
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Read many reviews before I purchased these headphones and its safe to say that these headphones really are very very good. Light in weight, comfortable during long periods and excellent microphone quality. Gives you the option of using USB or 3.5mm audio jack. The RGB lighting is definitely a plus.

I was pleased
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I was initially thinking of sticking with logitech as I had used them for years but figured I'd expand my range of products that I use and looked into Steelseries. I think the Arctis 5 is worth it more than the Arctis 3. The only difference is the chat/game volume dial and maybe a bump in sounds quality as far as I can tell but it's worth it just for that. It's made adjusting the chat to game volume ratio and sinch compared to useing the computer. The retractable microphone is sweet to. I never pull it out and people can here me fine. Plus they easily double had regular headphones when traveling. The Arctis 7 is basically if you want wireless Plus everything else. If so than its worth it but to me it wasn't for me.

Excellent headphones
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love these - my first real pair of decent gaming headphones. The retracable mic boom is brilliant, and the chat mix feature is neat. The cord (with chat mixer) is plenty long and they seem to be robust while not weighing down your head. My only complaint is the little adapter to connect to a 3.5mm port is that it is easy to lose and I don't see where you can just get a replacement. I liked these so much I bought two pair so I wouldn't have to move one around between my office and home.

Excellent 7.1 headset
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a very comfortable 7.1 surround headset. For the 7.1 it has to go through the computer. The software controls the surround effect. It works well and everything is controlled through the software, no audio card needed. I used these with movies, music and games and they work well with each. Sound quality is relative to each person so what sounds good to me may not to others. So I'll just say I like the sound quality. For 100 bucks I feel these headphones are worth the price.

Sleek look, great audio, adjustable mic
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sleek looking headset with the multi-color fully adjustable ring lighting. The app allows for full customization and syncing capabilities with games. The audio is superb, loud and clear with an adjusting volume knob and mute button. Microphone extends and retracts in length, and bendable. Also, pretty good background noise reduction interference. The head rest is a universal stretch band which is very comfortable. However, one problem, the ear muffs are not exactly comfortable. If you have large ears expect some discomfort. I don't personally but I do feel some tension since the ear pads are non-dense foam. It has a breathable cover so no sweating involved, but at the sake of poor cushion material. Nevertheless, the $100 price might be slightly over, but, still worth it. I'm an avid SteelSeries user so I'd buy the set again, since very minimal discomfort doesn't out weight the superior quality for the price of headsets and this sound quality.
