This Steelseries Rival 3 Gen 2 Mouse is fantastic! Works great and has been a wonderful addition to my collection of gaming mice. This is the real deal if you're looking for a great lightweight mouse with fantastic features. Coming in at just 77g it delivers a true ultra-lightweight experience. Also loaded with 100% PTFE feet which offer the easiest glide with minimal friction. These two features combined do wonders at reducing drag and muscle fatigue over long gaming sessions. I’ve really enjoyed playing with this mouse. Design and Build: An obvious notable feature of this mouse is its ultra-lightweight design. Weighing in at just 77 grams, it's truly one of the lightest mice I've ever owned. Its lightweight design allows for quick and effortless movements during intense gaming sessions without any sort of fatigue as my sessions go on, even hours at a time. The standard ergonomic design fits comfortably in my hand and maintains natural wrist/hand/thumb/finger alignment and positioning while in use. No clunky, uncomfortable, or awkward feel like some other peripherals I’ve used before. Performance: This mouse is equipped with an awesome TrueMove Air 8.5k DPI optical sensor. This produces exceptional precision, responsiveness, and smoothness. A really neat feature I like in this mouse is the ability to completely customize DPI settings, allowing for adjustments to the X and Y axis values individually and independently of each other. The GG software is great for customizing and saving up to 5 profiles with complete personalization and adjustments to customize the polling rate, acceleration/deceleration to adjust how fast the mouse moves across larger distances, and angle snapping. They allowed several customizable aspects of the mouse in order to suit your specific needs and preferences for each and every gaming scenario. Connectivity: This mouse is wired, which I love and prefer. Wired is flawless and allows for the fastest and most stable connection to keep me going strong for as long as I can survive. Also includes 3-zone customizable RGB lighting that can be managed in the app as well with a wide range of lighting modes and effects. Conclusion: Overall, this Turtle Beach Pure Air Ultra-Light Wireless Ergonomic RGB Gaming Mouse has been a great addition to my peripherals collection. Super lightweight, customizable, high-DPI, high performance mouse. Great mouse at a great price. I would definitely recommend to a friend or get another for myself if I ever need.

    Great Gaming Mouse

The SteelSeries Rival 3 is a great, simple gaming mouse. It is a pretty basic gaming mouse, with a somewhat understated(for a gaming mouse) design. It features an 8500 DPI optical sensor, 6 programmable buttons, RGB lighting, quick 1.35ms response, lightweight design, and a braided cable. The design of the mouse is fairly symmetrical, so it can be used lefty if needed, although you will lose the use of two of the programmable buttons near the thumb. It is listed as "lightweight" at 77g, but I have felt lighter gaming mice. It's by no means heavy, and the feet are buttery smooth, so it still glides around effortlessly. The switches on the buttons are rated at 60 million clicks, so in theory they should last you quite a while. Performance of the mouse was nice and responsive. I tested with a number of games, and it performed well in all. Every input was registered accurately and there weren't any unwanted clicks or movements or anything. Overall it was very comfortable to use and performed great. You can customize the buttons and lighting in the app. It says there are 6 buttons total, but this includes the DPI button on the top. You can change it to something else if you want, but I just kinda don't even include this as a customizable button. That leaves the left/right buttons, center click wheel, and the two extra thumb buttons on the side. So overall not a ton of customization options, but just enough for most people. You can also customize the lights on the bottom of the mouse. Overall, the lights on the bottom are actually kind of understated for a gaming mouse. Personally this is just about as much RGB lighting as I like, not in your face or over the top, but just enough to add a little pop. In conclusion, this is a really great gaming mouse that performs really well and is very comfortable to use. It offers a little bit of customization, but not a ton. Easy recommendation if you are looking for a capable, but basic, gaming mouse.

I used to enjoy a mouse that had a few extra buttons on it. But lately I noticed I do not really use all of those extra buttons. At first, I was skeptical to get a mouse with only 2 side buttons. But I have gotten used to using this mouse now. I have changed the DPI change button to be another button to use. I have never really changed my DPI other than I used to use a sniper button that when held, would go to that DPI and back when released. This mouse does not have that, and I did not see any settings that allowed that. But most games now allow you to customize your mouse sensitivity, which you can change for different sites, aiming down sites etc. A few reasons on why 4 stars from me. My first main gripe for me is that the DPI settings, you can only select in multiples for 100. I have always used 550. When I would type that in, it would default down to 500. Not that it's a huge deal for me. But just a little disappointing that I had to adjust to using 600 instead. Another thing was that it did not have a profile button and seems you can't select to make another button to do this either. This was one way I got around not using the DPI change button. I would just change to my desktop profile when I was not gaming to have a slightly faster DPI setting. Then to gaming profile when playing games. Those 2 things are the only things right now I can think of that I would like to have. As for wired. I use a mouse bungee and so wired vs wireless for me, I have preferred wired. I find them to be lighter and with the bungee I do not get drag lag from the wire. When I use a wireless mouse, I find myself keeping it plugged in all the time anyways. I have not run into any tracking issues with this mouse yet. I have a large fenatic speed mouse pad that I use and this mouse works great. I do wish they had a way to configure the mouse to your mouse pad. But it seems to work great for me, so I was not too worried about that. I have a lot of mice for my computer ranging from different brands. At this moment, I am using this mouse as my primary mouse. If you are looking for a great cheaper mouse and not needing a lot of extra buttons, then I recommend this mouse. I do also recommend looking at using a mouse bungee. I like to use those Velcro tie wraps, and use one on the mouse bungee to keep the cord from falling off.

The Rival 3 comes in wireless or wired and black or white. This review is for the wired mouse. The Rival 3 Gen 2 mouse comes with GG software allowing you to change and store up to 5 different settings. You can change the X axis independently of the Y axis. This also allows you to change the polling rate of the position and click rate to the system. You also can change the acceleration and deceleration to change how the mouse moves with bigger movements or small movements. Changing the custom lighting to your liking. The mouse has True 1-to-1 tracking with the TrueMove Core optical sensor (up to 8.5K DPI) there is a 3 zone RGB customizable lighting. The 6-foot paracord allows for easier cord placement and a tangle free mesh. The feet are 100 percent PTFE for easy gliding; these feet are also replaceable keeping you gliding quickly to the 60 millionth click the mouse is built to last for. Keeping you set in the gaming world there are 6 programable buttons. Rival 3 Gen 2 has a click latency of 1.35 milliseconds. That’s a near instant response. I recommend you give this mouse a try for your gaming needs.

As a PC gamer, my mouse is my interface to the world. Having it be comfortable to hold and move around is essential, not just for gaming, but also to prevent RSI. For a long time, I've had the type of gaming mice that come with extra weights, since the weight added to the stability. The Steelseries Rival 3 Gen 2 is considerably lighter than my current mouse, 77 grams vs 121 grams. It is considerably faster to whip around my mousepad, and I can definitely feel it in my elbow and wrist. The giant PTFE pads help it glide smoothly. There aren't too many bells and whistles on this mouse. The standard left and right buttons, wheel, a button to change DPI settings to adjust sensitivity, and the defacto standard two thumb buttons are all present. The wheel does not have built-in side scroll, which is a little disappointing for this excel warrior (fragging spreadsheets pays the bills). I tend to leave my DPI settings alone once I decide on a comfortable level, and the second fastest preset one is pretty good for my tastes, though I did play around with the acceleration and deceleration settings in the Steelseries GG app so that it moved in a more satisfying way to my brain. What would a gaming mouse be without RGB lighting? Steelseries has put a 3-stage lighting scheme covering the bottom of the mouse that is completely customizable. I have mine set up to match the colors on my animated wallpaper. All in all, this was an upgrade from the basic mouse that came with my computer, and a nice change of pace from my usual gaming mouse. I appreciate both the light weight and the lighting, and the smooth movement. The click isn't very loud either, which is great for gaming at night.

First thing first I'm not a wired mouse type of person but with this mouse I'm very impressed with it even though it's an optical mouse the RGB is all one the bottom of it and actually decent because it does actually show up around the sides from front to back. You will need to download SteelSeries GG from their website which will give you more options /settings for the RGB lighting as well as other things for the mouse. Once you have the mouse plugged into a USB port for a few minutes you'll get a popup on your monitor informing you of the new firmware for it which need to be done. The mouse itself is very light weight compared to some that I have used no brand names mentions lol. The software I mentioned even has a list of games that actually have presets for them and the RGB lighting some of which I have played and some that I still play which really caught my eye when I seen two of them. For this mouse to impress me like it has I might even put my trackball type mouse off to the side . I can honestly say this right now I personally have not found any con's with it other than me not being a optical mouse type person and that just me the pros ease of setup the RGB being bright which can be turned down in the software along with the speed and colors also the fact it's lite weight

The optical mouse was easy to connect. The center button changes mouse speed / Dots Per Second (dpi) to suit the scenario needed when playing various games. There is a very smooth and precise control while using the mousepad. What I really like are the buttons are customizable to your preferences. Bright and vibrant RGB lights that are on the bottom side of the mouse that can be changed through the app. The clicks are on the quiet side compared to other gaming mouse that I have used in the past. When holding the mouse, it is very comfortable for the finger tip and claw grips that are needed when playing and maneuvering. Pros: Quick connection Center buttons Customizable to preferences Comfortable grip Lights up Cons: I cannot think of anything at this time. If I do in the future, would update the review. I would definitely recommend this mouse to one of my friends that is into gaming and values my opinion, as they know I test a lot of technology. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to review this product, greatly appreciate it.

While SteelSeries is not one of my 'go-to' choices for gaming tech, I decided to test out this Rival Gen 2 Wired Gaming Mouse and see if it would exceed my limited expectations. Notable features: This Rival gaming mouse is super lightweight and ultra responsive. It glides smoothly across your mouse pad or gaming mat, while still maintaining precise control. The mesh paracord cable is really flexible, and the scrolling wheel is nice and quiet. You will want to install the SteelSeries GG software on your computer to fully personalize your Rival 3. This gaming mouse is for right-handed people and has 6 programmable buttons, as well as, customizable 3-zone RGB lights on the underside of the mouse. Final Thoughts: Yes, this SteelSeries Rival 3 Gen 2 Wired Gaming Mouse exceeded my expectations. I was pleasantly surprised. It performs well, and fits in my hand comfortably. Inexpensive, yet by no means "cheap." In my opinion, it's a decent mouse for just about anyone, and is more 'entry level' compared to higher-end gaming mice.

Doing a review on a computer mouse is always difficult. There usually isn't much to say. The average couse buyer just wants buttons that click and a pointer that moves. Gaming mice are different. You need to start looking at scroll rate, accuracy and response time to those clicks. Nothing like missing the shot by microseconds! This SteelSeries - Rival 3 Gen 2 Wired Optical Gaming Mouse seems to check all of those boxes for the hardcore gamer while not sacrificing anything for the normal everyday tasks. Most importantly, the mouse fits comfortably in the hand. Both my right and left hands for you southpaws. The glide across the desk was seemless and worked perfectly on my dark desk surface. There are plenty of buttons to assign and click away, giving you that advantage in the Fortnite type games. Nothing worse than trying to recall which shortcut does what. All-in-all, you really can't go wrong with this mouse. It's a mouse but also fits well in the gaming niche from a company that has been doing this for a while.

    Needs More Texture!

I have larger hands than most individuals. I wear XXL-sized gloves. So I do realize some products may not be suitable for me than the average person. The SteelSeries Rival 3 Gen 2 wired Gaming Mouse is more than fine. It just didn't fit my needs and liking but that doesn't mean it won't fit yours. I usually use larger or bigger style mice. I just find it more appealing to me. While gaming, my sessions can get intense leaving sweating hands. So having a mouse that is sized correctly and grippy is a pet peeve of mine. Just having some extra grippy texture on the side around the thumb area just adds that extra layer of comfort for me. I've been a fan of an "infinite-scroll wheel" so going away from that is tough for me. I didn't care for the scroll wheel on the Rival 3. The texture on the wheel was great but the functionality I didn't care for. I also didn't care to much for the two side buttons. They just felt off to me. I've used multiple mice with the extra buttons. For some reason these didn't feel right for me. I get the low profile and being minimal. Overall, for function this mouse will be fine for most people. It will achieve the desired outcome for most. For me, it just didn't hit the mark. The mouse lacks any kind of grip or texture for sweaty hands. It is very plain Jane. It felt very tiny in my hands. The two buttons on the side felt off. This mouse will work better for me in an "everyday task" kind of situation! Just not for gaming with me for long periods of time.
