Customers are saying

Customers are pleased with the Rival 300's comfort, RGB lighting, and size, citing its excellent responsiveness and accuracy. Many appreciate the mouse's weight and the ease of use of its software, along with its reasonable price. However, some users noted that the cable could be improved, and a few expressed minor concerns about the buttons and scroll wheel. Overall, the positive feedback on the Rival 300's performance and features outweighs the relatively few negative comments.

One of the best gaming mice around

I got this mouse because my original Rival died, and the Rival 300 is the equivalent. The "3d Print your own plate" feature is useless to most, but it doesn't cause any issues so it's fine to stay. Controlling the colors is nice, but also only aesthetic in nature. The reason this mouse is great is because the materials are decent, 2 thumb mouse buttons on the side (which is all you should really), customizable dpi which has capabilities to go far beyond my abilities, smooth surface, and a good-feeling grip. The only reason it loses a star is 1. because it's a replacement for its identical predecessor which went bad earlier than it should have (mouse wheel issues) and 2. no driver-only installation, hope you like Steelseries' Engine 3 software. This time I bought the Best Buy product protection just in case so now I have a great mouse with no worries if it goes bad too soon.

Good gaming mouse for the price

Installation was easy, and since I already had the steel series keyboard, the software was already installed on my pc. I also like that you can have different profiles for the mouse sensitivity stored on your pc, I don't like my mouse so sensitive that I just have to move it a mm to move it across my screen. My son, on the other hand prefers it very sensitive. For the price, this is a good mouse.

Rival 300 is a solid "entry level" gaming mouse

I purchased the Rival 300 after my trusty Microsoft Trackball Explorer finally gave up the ghost. I was hesitant to return to a traditional mouse, but the 300 has a quality grip and feels quite comfortable in my admittedly large hands. Being able to swap between low and high dpi is very effective and made possible by a quick button below the scroll wheel. The positioning of the other buttons is natural and the included Engine software makes customizing them a snap. I wasn't aware until after I installed the mouse, but you can also customize the color of the LED for those that like to game in low light. I 100% recommend the rival for anyone looking for a mouse that can handle productivity and gaming.

Great mouse only problem I had was that my steels eris keyboard on my laptop uses a different steels eris engine than the mouse so it wouldn't pick up the mouse and I have to run 2 apps to control both my mouse and keyboard which is stupid the steel 3 engine needs to add compatability for old devices besides that the mouse works great and is easy ti set up once you download the steel engine

I had this mouse for a few days. The colors, the ergonomics, the feel, the sensor is AMAZING. I love it more than any other mouse I've ever used. I didn't keep it for one reason and one reason alone. The grips will undoubtedly start to fade, They used some sort of hard rubber but in my opinion they should have used a hard plastic to prevent ware. If they changed that, I would stick with it.

First gaming mouse, using for software development

My Logitech Marathon mouse suffered the dreaded double-click issue, so I picked this gaming mouse up. I was concerned that I would not like the wire, but it doesn't get in the way at all. Furthermore, the tactile feel of the click and the DPI customizability are well worth it. The software that comes with the mouse is easy to use (to configure DPI settings and LED colors for the logo and scroll wheel). The one thing I wished it had was the "infinite" scrolling (where you can just flick the scroll wheel and it spins freely), but again, the mouse is so good in every other way, that I think it's a fair trade-off. I have medium to large hands, and it fits my hand comfortably. The mouse is fairly light, which I like, so it's easy to pick up and move around as needed. Absolutely no regrets with this purchase.

This mouse is slightly longer than most and fits my hand quite nicely such that the thumb buttons work without holding my thumb back like do on a smaller gaming mouse. The only drawback to the mouse that I have found is that it has the traditional rubber cord, rather than the nicer braided cords that another gaming mouse might have. Hence, this cord has worn out on me right at the mouse from bending. I recommend spending the extra $5 for the "service plan" -- I did, and do ever time now on these. When it quits working, I just trade it in for another.

We've gone through a lot of mice (is that still the plural for a computer mouse?). Though our household has some fancier ones at higher price points, this one seems to be the most responsive of any one at this price point, or within the price range. No complaints, and it has withstood several months of use so far.

I used an LG M705 for the longest (wireless) with no issues but these past 2 have been lemons so I returned them, sucked it up and bought a SteelSeries mouse that was running on sale around the Christmas holidays. The grip is great and well worth the money.

For me, it was a toss up between this mouse and the Corsair M65. This mouse feels much better in my hand than does the Corsair. The software is great, and the profile switching is easy. Overall worth what I paid for with no issues thus far.

I bought this mouse after my older mouse broke. i didn't know if it was going to live up to something i had gotten used to for so long. but it feels good in the hand, the scroll wheel has never acted up in the year i've had it, and you can change the lighting LED to correspond to health IN a game so if your low health the mouse will glow red. the only draw back i see is your pinkie finger kinda doesnt fit on the mouse and tends to drag on the mouse pad. BUT all around a great mouse.

Bought this keyboard for gaming (obviously) and did my research online. I wanted a true mechanical keyboard but without all the clickity clackity noise that usually comes with it. This is so quiet and responsive. I simply love it.

I play a lot of FPS games, and I bought this exclusively for CS:GO. I LOVE this thing. The response is great, the feel is awesome. The grip dots on the side took a moment to get use to, but that's about it.

I've had the Rival for a few months and I'm a happy customer. Lots of pros in my opinion like a simple program to control the color scheme and the DPI. I also have to say I like my gaming mice simpler and the Rival does a great job. The only complaint I have about this product is when I go to use the scroll wheel I some times hit the DPI adjuster button.

I have large hands and this mouse fits great. It is also very durable as gamers tend to be rather rough on mice. It has awesome features and works really well. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS MOUSE.

    Fantastic Deathadder Alternative

My last mouse was a Razer Deathadder and I never thought I'd want a different mouse in my life, but when it started having left click issues about 3 years after buying it I knew it was time for something new. I wanted to go with Razer again, but knew their products didn't have the best lifespan, as shown by the Deathadder, so I tried going with Logitech, but none of their stuff really fit my hand. Having never bought a Steelseries mouse before, I was somewhat skepticle, but after using the mouse for nearly a month now, I don't regret my decision in the slightest. The mouse conforms perfectly to my hand when gaming and casually browsing the web as well, and there are just enough buttons for my needs. The software is unobtrusive and easy to use, and setting the mouse up with my macros was a breeze. If you're coming from a Razer or Logitech and you're not completely satisfied, then I would highly recommend giving Steelseries a try with this bad boy.

This mouse is great because it is not heavy or cumbersome. Don't get me wrong, I do like a sturdy mouse that does not feel cheap, and this one is just what I needed. Combined with the SteelSeries mouse pad, it glides like butter! I have large hands, so I use a claw type grip. That is most comfortable for me. Once you get the mouse and play around with it, you can decide on what you are most comfortable with. I have not been able to use the super cool features of the software except on Windows. That's OK. I know most people will use it on Windows anyway. All in all, it is a great mouse. If you are a gamer, it is a must have!

I bought this with the intent to play first person shooter games like Overwatch. The mouse fits well in the hand, comfortable rubber like material against the palm, and the response time for the mouse is exceptional. I switched from a wireless mouse to this one and I'm very happy with the decision. I would highly recommend you purchase this product for the exceptional value for your dollars spent.

The main thing I like about this mouse, as well as other Steelseries designs, is that they're not silly or over-the-top, like some other products branded for gamers. This is just a nice mouse, big and comfortable, with two extra buttons on the side that you can hit with your thumb. Excellent for all kinds of FPS games. There's a reason the CSGO pros prefer Steelseries and it shows.
