Stone Temple Pilots are finally back and with their new lead singer after the unfortunate deaths of Scott Weiland and Chester Bennington. So now everybody wondering how well this album going to be and I got to say it’s alright. At first I thought this was just a generic rock album but after listening to STP last few albums since 2001’s Shangri-La Dee Da, I got to say it’s fits in with their sound. Stand outs include Meadow, Thought She'd Be Mine, Never Enough, Finest Hour, and Reds & Blues as sounding the most like them. My only real complaint is that they already had a self titled album, in fact it was their last studio album before this one. Now the two Best Buy bonus tracks Already Gone and Forget Forever are great additions so if you want this album pick up this exclusive version.

You need to listen to this album front to back with out skipping the singles. Jeff fits right into the band no one can replace Scott but Jeff doesn't even try to. I listened to this album on repeat for about two months I can't wait for album number two.

Wow. All I can say is that the Stone Temple Pilots are back. Listening to the full album brought me to tears. I think when Scott died, I was worried I'd never find something like STP again, and the new songs are so very much STP that it completely overwhelmed me. There isn't one song I'd skip. "Just A Little Lie" is the first throwback to the Core/Purple era they've ever done, and it's spot-on. "Roll Me Under" could substitute on No. 4 for "No Way Out." I agree with others that "The Art Of Letting Go" seems like a tribute to Scott, and it feels particularly like a Tiny Music or Shangri-La Dee Da song. "Thought She'd Be Mine" is absolutely stunning and even includes a dreamy, psychadelic closing that we haven't seen since No. 4. It almost has a Doobie Brothers feel and might possibly be my favorite track on the album. "Meadow," "Never Enough," and "Middle of Nowhere" are fantastic, rip-roaring rockers in the best of STP tradition. And "Reds and Blues" is a touching, slightly melancholic, country-tinged closer. The whole thing is breathtaking. We'll never have another Weiland, but Jeff Gutt stepped up to the plate and scored an absolute home run with the DeLeos and Kretz. Sometimes they sound like Scott never left, sometimes they sound like Army of Anyone regrouped, but always they sound like the Stone Temple Pilots, stronger than ever. It's better than the 2010 album, better than Shangri-La, better than Tiny Music. Buy it. You could not regret it.

STP seems to have found a great new Singer for their band. After many years with Scott gone then them trying to work with Chester from Linkin Park (who both sadly died in the last few years), STP has returned with a great album with a new singer. The new music is reminiscent of music from Core and Purple yet with production that gives the songs a fresh and modern sound. The new vocalist sings the songs well in a style like Scott's yet isn't trying to copy him. The album itself is great as a whole with no filler. Even the two BEST BUY bonus tracks are excellent. Really great album by a iconic 90$ band that has been able to come back with an album old and new fans will appreciate!

Primarily acoustic album. I know that there are reviewers out there that have panned this LP, but if you listen to it with an open mind, it's actually quite good. Singing is spot and very close to what Weiland would produce (the way I look at it, the sound of a voice in a band is like any other instrument - you *want* to hear that particular type of sound/style that is associated with the band - it's a signature of the band in a way).

When I first heard STP was going to continue on after Scott had died, the inner uber fan in me of this band was quite upset. The thought of these guys just moving on and not only that but doing so while not changing their name out of respect for Scott irked me. Then, I heard Jeff Gutt’s voice on “Meadow” and was blown away. They had me sold once again! STP was coming back! The greatest news I had heard since Alice In Chains had reformed! I eagerly awaited this album release trying to contain my excitement. I saw Best Buy had bonus tracks so I decided to buy from there. I bought it and popped it in my CD player expecting to hear the classic STP sounds with this brilliant new singer they had...only to be pretty disappointed . This is like diet STP. It can probably do the trick but leaves you less than satisfied. I admit, I wasn’t a huge fan of the last self titled STP effort with Scott either and was only marginally satisfied with the “High Rise” EP with Chester on vocals. I guess I was prepared for a heavier dose of STP harkening back to “Core”, “Purple” or “No.4” and instead got what I feel are a bunch of softer B-sides left over from the previous STP self-titled re-lease. That said: It’s not an awful album and certainly worth buying if not for “Meadow” & “Roll Me Under”. I’m still looking forward to seeing how they hold up live!

For me is a good come back album. As an STP fan we are always going to do the comparison with Scott Weiland. Off course is not Scott and no body is going to sing exactly like him but, we have to accept before his death he was finished with STP. So, I think this new record is a new stage for STP. This singer sound a little bit like Scott plus he added his touch to the record. For me is a good STP album with a new tune.

Stone Temple Pilots return (sans Scott Weiland and Chester Bennington) with the tight rock jams that got them noticed in the first place. The Side A is full of loud rock, while Side B closes it on a considerably more quiet note. If you were a fan of the more recent STP fare (previous S/T album or Bennington EP), you wouldn't be disappointed by what you'll find here.

STP has long been plagued with bad luck. from all of the on again off again presence of their troublesome vocalist Scott Weiland and his demons, to his untimely death, to the brief period of activity with his replacement Chester Bennington, to his untimely death... its good to see them finally in a good place with some good luck. is this album in league with their legendary first 3 albums? no, but its still an impressive rebirth of some great, memorable songs nonetheless.

I was deeply concerned when Scott Weiland died that STP would end. But with their new singer Jeff Gutt, this new album brings them back with a fire and intensity that harkens back to the beginning of their career. One might slight Gutt for sounding just like Weiland. But in this case it is a good thing. While he does sound quite a bit like him, he has enough in his voice to be his own persona. This is a fantastic album. And a great start to a new beginning for the band.

I still feel like they're holding back a bit. Would be nice to hear them let lose and just rock out like the old days. Still, there's not really any duds on this album, just sort of all decent enough. Wish there were a few more standout tracks.

I was skeptical of this release from STP because they were going with a new singer, Jeff Gutt. Mr. Gutt has his own sound and he really did not try to copy the legendary Scott Weiland(r.i.p.). At the end of the day, it's the songs that matter and, in this case, they really sounded good but it's not 1993. People are not into buying cds nowadays, but I am glad I got this cd.

STP is back with a new singer and truly this is a cool disc. The new singer has a Weiland style about him and the music is as you would expect. It seems that the band is moving forward and it sounds good.

Decent effort by STP. It definitely does not measure up to their first two albums from the early 90s, but it is great to have new music from them!
