I am intrigued that they used the album version of "No Vaseline" in here, with the introlude, and the entire thing is unedited too, unlike the version from "Death Row Compilation" (I think that's what its called) which edited the anti-Semitic slurs. It is also not like the version from the "Rap G Style" compilation which is the explicit version but omitted the introlude. I am surprised that the song is included, since it was a diss track but since it part of the flick they had to add it.
The version of "G Thang" is the one from "The Chronic" too, similar to the one from all Death Row compilations, so it is not the clean or video version.
They also used the original single version of "Boyz N The Hood" and not the Eazy-E remix version, so it starts with the "Cruisin' down the street in my six-fo" line.
This also contains a modified version of "F Tha Police" without the "Right about now, N.W.A court is in full effect" intro, so it boggles the mind that they used the album version of "No Vaseline."
I already own all these songs, even the classic jams that N.W.A sampled, but I guess I got this for the fact that their all compiled in one retail CD. I know I coulda just burned a disc or made a playlist on my phone but I just had to purchase the disc.

I was in college when this music came out. So it definitely brought back memories. The music like the group is hard core and only for adults. The NWA songs don't seem dated by today's standards which probably has to do with Dr.Dre's producing. So there is also some songs from other artists that definitely takes you back 20 years. Overall a good mix of music.

NWA was a part of my growing up. I didn't grow up in a bad area, but the music still reached me because its message was so strong. NWA knew how to deliver that message and still keep it entertaining. Glad that came out with this soundtrack with the classics and not just the Dr Dre album that he put out after he was inspired by the movie.

One can't help but wonder why this soundtrack for the film Straight Outta Compton wasn't released when the film was in theaters. Nonetheless this collection which highlights songs from N.W.A. along with solo tracks by their members & influences is a great collection to own. Recommended in the highest regard.

Couldn't wait for this movie to hit the big screen! And I was first in line when it hit the DVD market as well. Excellent story and great acting by some new, young talented actors (as well from seasoned actors Paul Giamatti as Jerry Heller and Aldis Hodge as MC Ren). Check it out. You won't be disappointed.

This CD is worth every penny! !!
Takes you back, if you were around at that time. If you weren't born then, you wish you were.
Every song is great!!! If you have extra bass, even better.
Glad I purchased this.
Did so before I saw the movie.

the music you heard in the movie straight outta Compton is available in this great cd. Hard to find tracks like knee deep by parliament makes it a must have. I highly recommend it due to its great tracks from oldschool funk and gangsta rap. Great album overall, especially for those die hard nwa fans.

This soundtrack will take you back to the 80's when rap was starting to take off and take you down to memory lane. Good music that will live on to future generations!! Love the fact that Mc. Ren was added on to this soundtrack as I grew up enjoying his music. Awesome soundtrack!!

I love this Soundtrack. The music is timeless and it brings me back in that time when Hip Hop was getting very street oriented and authenic. I get the chills in the back of my neck when I reminise this soundtrack. Straight Outta Compton is a classic recommended.

Love the 70s, 80s & 90s music. You get a little of it all in this CD. Very nice soundtrack for people that grew up on the hip hop R&B style. #NoVasiline is STILL to this day the Best diss song #EVER. It caused the demise of N.W.A. Ice Cube is a baaaaaaddd man.

You may already have most of these songs somewhere in your collection (if you are old enough ;) ) BUT it is a fun soundtrack to listen to while you are out and about. If you haven't heard any of these songs outside of the movie, it is a great way to get acquainted with them, and hear them at your own pace and not rush through them in clip form.

I saw the movie 5 times in theaters & knew all the words to the songs thanks to my daddy. Getting the soundtrack & playing them in the car makes me feel like they are new records & are appreciated all over again.

I watched this film over and over. Love seeing people from low class areas struggle and how they made it through the hard times. Find out some things about these individuals that I never knew.

And, what it should be. This release shows the brilliance of NWA and the groundbreaking pioneers they were in the Hip Hop Industry. thoughtful rap over a good beat makes this enjoyable for most listeners. It also makes you appreciate the time in history that brought rap mainstream.

I was reminded of my high school years when rap music had meaningful and purposeful messages delivered in the lyrics along with super dope beats. Great music from a great era!

This album brought back memories of my teen years and the introduction to one of the first ever "hard core/gangster" rap groups into mainstream music. If you've seen the Straight Outta Compton movie, this soundtrack is a nice way to relive it through the music.

It reminds me of my high school day and when rap actually talked about and meant something. Not like today's junk. It has no heart and anyone can make a album.
