This series became my new favorite show of 2014. I am excited to be able to watch each episode again. I cannot wait for the new series to start up in summer of 2015. This show has some of the best special effects I have seen on a cable network. If you like horror, vampires, and gore - then this show is for you!

Not your typical Vampire story. Well directed. Doesn't have that cheap feel to it. First episode had us hooked. Just enough creepy to keep us interested. Characters are well defined and endearing. Cross between zombie outbreak and a vengeful vampire on the loose. I'm a hard sell, so it takes spectral to get 5 stars. This was really good.

I haven't had a chance to watch my season copy yet. I've faithfully watched every episode every week on T.V., with my hubby. He luvs it too. It is one of the few series or movies that actually scare me! A great cross between horror and sci-fi! The "Master" is truly horrifying! Watch, and you'll agree....

This is a different take on the subject of vampires, but is very refreshing and with a good plot. The series is based on the trilogy books but add or remove elements to make the story flow. So far is one of my favorites series and from one of my favorites directors - Guillermo del Toro.

This was an excellent vampire TV series on Blu ray. Reminded me of Blade 2 to some extent with the type of vampire breed shown. The head vampire villain was very cool. I highly recommend this show and it keeps you hooked till the end. The Blu Ray video and audio quality was excellent.

This show is great. It's not just endless random gore like The Walking Dead. And it's not just random dark things like American Horror. It's a great character driven story with many levels of depth. I loved the first and second season and would recommend it to any horror fan.

"The Strain" gets off to a good start by raising more questions than answers, letting the viewer feel almost as threatened as the characters. It's a slow but pretty exciting build to the end. Can't say it's all that original, but the visual presentation is attractive even on standard DVDs.

This dvd set was purchased as a gift for my dad for Father's Day. He loves all things horror and was really excited to watch this series. Unbeknownst to me, he saw one episode on tv and loved it but due to his work schedule he was unable to keep up. Now he can watch it on his own time.

A slight twist on the whole vampire thing. I enjoyed this series and have already Started on season 2. The only complaint I have is thr DVD version only has English as an option for spoken language, would have liked to have spanish as well.

I watched The Strain from the very first episode and if you are looking for a great Summer time series this is the one to check out! Great features, bonus content, will make you craving more! I am so stoked for the Strain Season 2 this coming Summer!

I am a. huge fan of The Walking Dead. Maybe that is the reason I find this series equally as compelling and addictive. It is very well written and compelling in it's story. The acting and special effects are top notch.

I thought that i† was riveting , suspenseful and I felt that I HADE TO WATCH THE WHOLE SEASON AT ONE SITTING. GET THE POPCORN grab a handful ,set down and enjoy the movie. you don't know wha† will happen next. hold on there something crawling next to you.

This show is very good! but i hope it gets even better,im a big fan of Guillermo del Toros work, especially his bizarre creatures, & this one lives up to that! the acting needs some improvement, but still a very good show, looking forward to more!

I love this show. It has a great Horror element with a little Sci-fi element to it. It has a great cast and some excellent special effects. If you like vampires with a modern twist I would recommend this one to you. Ivan.

We have always enjoyed the works of Guillermo Del Toro, so we were anxious to watch The Strain when it was released on DVD. The story is interesting, the characters are likable, and the execution is fairly well done. If you can accept that this is a TV series and not a movie, which means the special effects are kind of campy looking, then you will probably enjoy this. But don't expect an A-List film style, as you would see with Pacific Rim or The Orphanage. The video itself looks fine on our 42" Samsung, which is saying something because our couch is pretty close to the television and we see flaws others might not see when viewing from a further distance.

Yet another original and interesting take on vampires. It's vampires are reminiscent of Blade 2, as it came from the creator of that and Pan's Labyrinth. Some really scary scenes, especially for a tv show.

This is one of those new must see TV series. Whether you are a horror, Sci-fi, or comic book fan (series based on a comic book series). I think you should give it at least a watch and decide for yourself.

Got hooked on the 2nd season, purchased both on blu-ray. Hard to find decent shows on cable and this is one of them. If your a fan of the horror genre I think you'll enjoy, "The Strain."

Caught me by surprise I did not expect this series to be so good I can't wait to the second season starts. The show will captivate you and drag you in ,it's a little bit gruesome but I enjoy it

FX network always gives great shows a chance, and The Strain is no exception. Based on a series of comics, this graphic take on vampires makes them cool again! No more Twilight BS!!!
