Not as many "hooks" but very good.

Earlier CDs by Garbage contain songs that have more of the proverbial “hooks” and riffs, many of which become earwigs (can you say “Stupid Girl”?). This collection has a more moody feel to it which is fine by me because it clearly points out how the band and songwriting/vocals have progressed and evolved. The title “Strange Little Birds” is quite appropriate and seems to nail the collection of music here, but strange does not mean inferior or bad! Just don’t expect the more bouncy type of songs and be aware you will want to play it through twice to appreciate it. There are riffs and undertones in this album that are sonically different, but worth the listen especially to the longtime fans. My only complaint is the print size utilized on the lyrics sheet should have been larger. Love to follow along on that initial first listen!

Listening to this new album from Garbage is like going back in time, and that's not a knock against it. It would have fit right in with the music that they produced in the 1990s - the style and the sound. Terrific songs and musicianship, as you would expect from Garbage. And of course, Shirley Manson's vocals which are outstanding. If you are a Garbage fan, buy this album. I don't think that you will be disappointed. The song "Empty" is a gem.

Being a longtime Garbage fan, I was excited when I heard they had a new CD coming out. I'll admit that I thought the songs had a bit of a dark tone when I first heard the CD in passing, but when I listened to each song one by one I ended up enjoying it. Definitely recommend to any long time Garbage fan!

Garbage in my opinion haven't put out a bad album (through I'm least fond of beautiful garbage of all their albums) but strange little birds is the most consistently good and creative album they've released since version 2.0, I would go so far as to say this is the most creative album since the first one and you really should listen to this.

I'm a long-time Garbage fan so I was exited when they announced new music and tour. Strange Little Birds brings a slightly mellow sound from them but was still a great listen. A few songs stand out and are the ones they are performing live, so if they are coming near you go see them...it's worth it.

This is another great Garbage album... but you need to be ready to endure It's mood. It is very good.. and it makes you think out about times bot so good in your life.... which can help you see the parts that are good and be appreciated. Solid Album, and glad I have it.

I was a little worried about this album because it had been a while since Garbage had put an album out and there was little fan fare. However, I am a fan of Garbage and gave it a try. I could not be happier. This is just more of what I have always loved from this unique band. I recommend it to all.

This has a couple great tracks, but didn't quite have the same impact their previous album had, in my opinion. A lot of tracks build too slowly, if at all, and there doesn't seem to be as much variety here. Still an awesome band, maybe it will be a grower.

Once again, Garbage puts out a fantastic album.Shirley Manson has an amazing voice and you can hear her presence over some excellent instrumentals. As long as they've been around, and they still rock as hard as they did on their first album. Haven't lost a beat.

I was grew up listening to 90s music and liked all of Garbage's singles but never bought an album. I took a chance and bought this on a whim. The good news, I love it! One of the better albums from start to finish that I bought this year. Highly recommended!

Strange Little Birds is a little moodier than the usual Garbage album. It only has a couple real smack you upside the head songs (which I've come to expect & love from Garbage). Quite a few of the songs were more introspective than previous albums. Not bad, just different. It's like someone you've always had a good but not 'close' friendship, all the sudden opening up their deepest, darkest thoughts to you after 15 years of superficiality. That said, Shirley Manson is still head and tails the best female lead for a rock band. Butch & the boys can still rock it, they are just making me think more than I'm used to.

I was always a fan of the band Garbage. There latest efforts were beginning to sound tired. This CD sounded fresh and it was like they found themselves after their hiatus. I definitely enjoy it.

I've always been a fan of the band and have seen them several times, so I was really looking forward to hearing their new album. It's definitely not their strongest, but it has its moments.

This makes 6 consecutive killer albums for garbage... They're not denting the mainstream charts anymore (criminal!), but they deliver time and again and the diehards, like myself, are happy to devour!

I always check Best Buy's availability and price on music that I want to buy. When they have an item they usually have it at a sale price lower than anyone else the first week it comes out.

Garbage is going back to their rock and roll roots. The songs probably won't get a lot of airplay these days, but it's perfect for any fan of Garbage.

I love all of garbage's albums but this one I'd call the modern spiritual successor to the first album, very creative and diverse. One of their best records.

Garbage never really went away, but it feels like they've come back with something to prove. If you liked their earlier albums, this will be right up your alley.
