Bought This On A Whim, As I Am New To Tracking Activity And Diet. I Charged It When I Got Home (Took 1.5 Hours To Charge From 0%) And I Have Had It On And Connected To My Phone For 3.5 Days, All I Can Say Is Wow! The Battery Is Still At 59%! I Think It Will Last At Least Another Two Days. I Don't Mess With It Much, I Check My Steps 5 Times Per Day Or So, And I Read My Notifications. I Was Also Very Impressed That The Device Displays Entire Text Messages With The Sender's Name (You Can Scroll To Read The Whole Message), Who's Calling When The Phone Rings, And It Also Displays Subject Lines And Senders In Emails. It's Water Proof, And I've Been Wearing It In The Shower Without A Hitch. The Vibrating Alarm Is A Subtle And Quiet Way To Wake Up, And It Displays Custom Text. Also, If You Are Using Itunes, You Can Pause And Skip To The Next Song, Which Is Helpful When Out For A Run. TLDR; Great Value, Battery Life, Water Proof, Extensive Features For Something The Size Of A Wristband. Love It.

Great Activity Tracker + smart watch for the price

After tons of research on activity trackers and smart watches, I gave the Striiv Touch a shot and I must say, its great so far! It was easy to set up after downloading the app. The app has tons of info about getting the watch to work. Once it was charged enough I put it on. Its extremely comfortable and I forget its on my wrist until a notification goes off and vibrates. The Striiv Touch syncs all my alerts. My Bible APP, Yahoo sports alerts, Calendar, Reminders, Phone calls, Texts, Facebook, and Pinterest. The OLED touch screen is easy to read and you can flip the screen to make it easier to read on whichever wrist you are wearing it on. I love this thing so far. Its not to high tech like other smart watches which will distract me from real life. And so far the step counter is quite accurate. You wont find such an accurate step counter on other smart watches. I'm enjoying this new toy a lot so far and I think its a winner!

I returned a Sriiv band (2 of them) because of the battery life but I decided to stick with Sriiv because of the ease of use. This tracker is more than what I thought it would be! It is a great tracker and the vibrate feature when you get a call or text is awesome. I love how easy it is to set up and a charge lasts for 3 days easy.

    Great replacement for Fitbit Force

I was looking for a replacement for my Fitbit Force for months and tried the Jawbone 24, Fitbit One, and Gitbit a Flex all to no avail. Really liked the time and activity display on the Fitbit a Force and struggled to find a comparable. Enter the Striiv Touch Smart Watch. Very similar display to a Fitbit Force (love). Works with MyFitnessPal (love) but while intuitive setup support was difficult to find. Very little about this device on the web save the Striiv site and then you have to deeper to locate the setup, etc... Don't let this deter you! Very good device ...just little press thus far. I am a caudal walker who is trying to get a bit more fit using this as indication and it works! Recommend it!

Succeeds at what it sets out to do

I wanted a pedometer that could be worn as a watch - my fitbit zip devices worked fine but too easily ended up in the washing machine. But many of the fitness bands in this price range don't include a watch/display. The Striiv Touch connects to iOS or Android devices (check for OS compatibility) and gives date and time, as well as basic notifications - caller ID, SMS, and calendar notifications. The pedometer and sleep timers work fine, it's water resistant so working out or showering aren't a risk, and it provides notifications without overwhelming. Note the integration to phone or tablet is pretty basic. It's NOT a smart watch that will take photos, edit information, control the music settings, etc. For me it's a bonus. I can see who's calling or read a brief text without obviously reaching for my phone, and that's enough. There's no killer app yet that (for me) justifies the expense of a full smart watch. Note, plan on about 4-5 days on a charge. It comes with a special cradle/dock for charging - less convenient than a standard USB port, but better for water resistance - and charges in about 90-120 minutes. That requires a little forethought if you want to capture all of your steps or sleep time.

One of best gifts I ever got

I love the smart phone capability as well as activity, step and sleep monitoring. The app is easy to use and keeps you up to date with your data. You can share and compete with friends, link to Face Book, your calendar, set alarms, receive messages,etc.. Easy to charge and holds for about two to three days. I just charge when I see it getting low or when it warns me I only have a day left of charge. The steps / distance sometimes shows less steps than taken if your arm is not moving as you walk, otherwise it is perfect.

    Don't Buy this Product

I used to own a Jawbone. While there were times I had to reset it, it was very easy to use and mostly reliable for my activity. I travel for work and I left it in a hotel room. It was not to be found so I decided to buy a Striiv Touch. This is an absolute mistake. Right off the bat it's much more confusing to set up than the jawbone. While it's charging it has to be put in this special holder. Downloading the app was a simple process. It paired with my phone after an hour of trying but shortly after, it would no longer work with my phone and the message on my app said something like "oops, this has crashed and we have sent a message to the developer..." So I unpaired it and now my phone won't recognize the existence of my Striiv. My blue tooth is on and working but apparently the Striiv doesn't like my android bluetooth. The jawbone wraps around your wrist. It is comfortable to wear. The Striiv you have to cut the band and it's very difficult to snap on your wrist. The band is a little like a $5.00 piece of plastic. Oh yes, it really is a $5.00 piece of plastic because getting it to snap on your wrist is a game of annoyance. Then the thought occurred to me...I've thrown the packaging away and I've cut the band...what are the chances Best Buy will take back this piece of junk back? I have no idea of it's reliability or any of the great features it claims to have. I'm not even sure how to wake it up. When it's on my arm, there's nothing on the interface. Once or twice a moon pops up with some hours and minutes. It must think I'm sleeping. The only directions in the box really tell you nothing. So, I've spent my night googling how to make this thing work. I still have no idea. I buy lots of technology. I sell medical device technology for a living. If I sold this to a customer, I'd have to walk more than half of them through how to use it and I'd spend more time and money than the product was worth. I'd suggest the Jawbone or the FitBit (which some of my customers own and love) and I'd steer clear of something so complicated that for 100 bucks you'll just be frustrated. Maybe this works better with an IPhone. But it sucks with my Android Smartphone. This is the first review I have ever written in 1000's of dollars worth of different technology I've ever bought from Best Buy and other retailers. If you like a challenge, this is the device for you. If you like something simple and easy to use, there are much better products. In fact, if there was nothing else on the market, I still wouldn't buy this product.

Good fitness band at great price

I looked at the various bands on the market and no one touches the Striiv touch on price, size and features. The Samsung Gear is huge, the Microsoft Band is $200, the Fitbit Charge was $50 more and larger and less comfortable and the Vivosmart was $70 more and not as easy to read the screen. The only real issue is that the touch screen is not that sensitive, sometimes taking several pokes to wake up. It is comfortable to wear 24/7, you can shower in it, and it seems fairly accurate. Will definitely keep over the competition. Sleep function seems to measure only duration, not movement, so I hope they fix that if possible. Also, smartphone notices worked fine out of the box.

    Not a happy camper

I have a Striiv Touch mod ZXO TOCHGM0001. The following is a conversation with Striiv tech support on ticket # 32471 I'd like to fully explain how the Touch tracks your steps. The Touch uses internal hardware to detect movement, and that movement is then determined to be a step (or not a step# based on a unique step tracking algorithm associated with the current software on your device. The latest software contains an edit to the step tracking algorithm meant to prevent "false steps" being recorded when repetitive motion is detected #e.g. while typing on a keyboard or riding in a car#. This edit does an excellent job of preventing false steps from tracking, but it does increase the need for continuous motion in order for steps to track accurately. I hope this gives you a better idea of how your device tracks your steps Pushing shopping cart, a stroller, or anything that restricts the movement of the arm is not counted then, correct? Anything which stabilizes the arm you are wearing the Touch on will prevent some steps from tracking. The Touch essentially takes any registered movement and uses the step tracking algorithm to translate that movement into registered steps, and any movement that does not pass scrutiny will not count as a step. So that I understand this correctly, any activity, other than actually walking, that has steps involved may or may not be counted as steps based on the software interpretation. Is that correct? You may have difficulty tracking steps taken that are not continuous #more than 10 continuous steps#. Also, keep in mind that the Touch is worn on your wrist which requires both whole body movement and arm movement to be taken into account when measuring steps taken. All this being said, we are continuing to test our step tracking algorithm The calorie counter is based on the steps taken therefore almost any exercise other than walking is not measured by this device is not counted as calories burned. Smart watch functions are erratic at best, with Android 5.0 #Lollipop# on my Samsung S5 Active SM-G870A. The app will not even load on my Samsung Tablet SM-T530NU with Android 5.0.2 #Lollipop). The best distance from my phone is about 20ft and very erratic if in the next room. The Sleep Tracking times from the time wearer turns on the sleep mode until it is turned off. Battery life on my unit is about 72hr with only the step monitor and about 24hr with the smart watch function on. Performance is nothing close to what I understood it should be, by reading what was on the packaging and display in store. This is not a fault of Best Buy, but of the vendor Strivv

At first setup and programming was time consuming due to limited instructions given. However at most 10 mins after sync, uptodate, and properly functioning with my iPhone 5s. I love the gadget, it vibrates and displays every MSG/email/ incoming call/ missed call and every notification received. Great smart watch. As far as fitness tracker has a great app where it syncs to.

Great hybrid between fitness tracker and smart watch. You have to be a bit patient while first setting the device up but other than that, it is a great product. Works great for running and receiving txt/calls from your phone. Very cool gadget and priced at its correct value. Looks cool, works well and fits comfortably around your wrist.

    Not what I expected

So I got this striiv touch and my sister got a fitbit, we chose which one we wanted. I picked this and we were comparing steps at the end of each day and she had way more than me. So I took a walk around with both of the products on my one arm and couted my steps, well the fitbit measured way more accurate than the striiv. So what i would suggest is that if you are looking for a Striiv to count your steps spend a little more for a fitbit because the little more money is worth it. I did email someone for Striiv complaining about my product and they tried to tell me that their brand was more accurate, it is not.

It is too bad there are so many bad reviews of this device. I had the Fitbit Force until it was recalled. So I tried this device instead, and it has worked GREAT! They have sent out a couple of software updates, so make sure you have downloaded those. Otherwise I love the notifications on my wrist for when I am in meetings. It has been accurate with my steps as well. It is comfortable, and does not get in the way of typing on my computer. I have worn it 24 hours a day, and even in the shower. No problems yet and it has been a couple of months. The company is promising more updates too and looks for feedback from their users!

I purchased this band because it was sleek and reasonably priced. I actually like the band, however I did have some hiccups along the way. Once I got those squared away, the band functions quite well. I would be cautious to make sure it's accurately counting the steps.

Great fitness band vs. current alternatives

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I had to give this thing 5 stars - compared with the alternatives on the market today, it offers more than any other "band" or "smartwatch" in that it fills both demands. It has all the basic fitness tracking that other bands provide (i.e. Fitbit) as well as phone notifications (ala the Pebble) and handles both functions beautifully. I can't speak for others' experiences, but it's worked great for me so far. Easily paired it with my iphone 5, the app is simple but works well, and it integrates with My Fitness (calorie counting app) to accurately reflect how active you were each day/how many calories you burned. The phone notifications were a little buggy the first couple of days - but after a couple firmware updates from Striiv everything is working beautifully: call, text, calendar, FB notifications. And there are supposed to be new features added later this summer (alarm/music control/flashlight/weather). Also - battery life the first couple days wasn't great, but after the most recent update, it is lasting 4-5 days between charges, which is pretty close to the claim on the box. All in all, I've been very pleased and would definitely recommend this to someone looking for a fitness band in today's market. Also - to the other reviewer who said you need to shake your wrist to access the clock, that's not true: you can just touch the screen for 1-2 seconds and it will turn on. Though the wrist shaking thing is good to know (it works as well) if you only have one hand free.

For the price you can't beat its features...call and text notifications...activity tracker, etc. I hope that the upcoming features of added apps, etc. pan out. Compared to my fitbit I wore on my waist the step count is not as accurate as it is worn on the wrist...though when I wore both all day not a significant discrepancy. I don't forget this like the fitbit as it is worn even at night as a sleep tracker. I love the call and text notifications. I run a small business and this helps keep me on track. I am looking forward to the calendar notifications...not yet active on my iPhone 5s...the company said I should expect these at the end of summer. One piece of advice...when you get a text scroll through them to keep receiving text notifications. If you don't it won't give you any more until you do.
