The game is intense and as a survivor from a crashed spaceship, you have to build a base to survive on a world that is pure water. Graphics and gameplay are amazing. There's is so much to do and you can follow the story if you want to.

keeps giving error when saving more than 15 minutes of play. only thing missing is the ability to fly. This would help in finding the proper areas to find things to scan.

Subnautica was recommended to me by a friend and it did not disappoint. If you are looking for a survival game that requires exploration and problem solving that just so happens to take place underwater, this is the game for you. There really isn’t a storyline but you get to complete this game however you. Also, if you aren’t so interested in the survival side of the game you can play on exploration mode which is just as fun. This is a game that you continue to play for years after you have completed it. It’s so cool.

If you’re into any type of survival games I would definitely recommend this game to you. There’s a lot to explore and build and it adds a lot of depth to the game. As someone who used to play this game when it was just in Beta it’s pretty cool to see how far it’s come. If you’re not afraid to dive into the vast ocean world of Subnauctica I would check this game out. If you’re looking for gameplay Pewdiepie has played this game as well as Markplier, good amount of people streaming it as well.

Its a bit slow going at first getting the hang of it. But once you figure things out and actually start building a base you will be hooked. Also the sea encounters are scaled very well and its endless deep areas it feels. Perfect for those who like sea life and thrill. My first run in with a Reaper Leviathan was pretty freaky and i thought i would not get away but i did haha. Def worth buying and priced very well!

In October 2018 I got two additional little people added to my family when my son's relationship with his girlfriend got serious. Her little girl was a cinch since I have a granddaughter the same age. Her son, 10, was a different matter. We bonded over Best Buy! He wanted the PS4 game Subnautica. I looked into it making sure it was appropriate for a 10 year old and asked him if he wanted me to get it for him. He said "no it's too expensive". I of course went to Best Buy. I had checked the app and it said there was one in the store. I got someone to help me find the one game and while it took him a few minutes, he found it. I then asked him about the game and I learned all there was to know about Subnautica. I told his mom just to leave it by his game console and not to mention I had bought it. When I came over I got the biggest smile and hug and an invitation to watch him play. I did and this game is amazing. It's like a virtual trip into the ocean. The graphics are so amazingly real. And so I watch this guy who now calls me grandma play Subnautica often and I have been told a Subnautica 2 is out or coming out. He will have it when it's available. Parents, this is a great game for kids. There's no violence, no blood, no bad language and it can be used to teach kids about what is in the ocean. I strongly recommend this game.

I recently beat this game and absolutely loved the journey, aside from one glaring issue: performance. The game regularly has drastic frame rate drops, especially when certain enemies come on screen, making it hard to defend yourself against them. Additionally, the game engine has other issues with pop in and a serious problem where entire 'chunks' (square sections) of the map fail to load, leaving huge gaping holes in the game world than *the player can fall into*, often leading to a loss of game progress This is on a PS4 Pro. Do yourself a favor and get the PC edition instead.

Subnautica is probably one of my favorite games now, the controls are kind of hard to get used to, but you learn. You should buy the game if you like adventure games.

    Simple but deep Survival Game

Survival games are not everyone's flavor and Subnautica does not ease you into the concept; however, on the surface (no pun intended) Subnautica is simple and easy to understand but fully opening up the world and progressing can get very deep and complex with not much of any kind of information to know how to progress further. Regardless Subnautica meets the criteria for a great survival game. For those casual video, game fans do not expect any action or much excitement or story.

    Great but Glaring Bugs

This game is amazing. And for the most part you'll have fun much more than not. But this bug has some funky bugs in it. After looking online in forums it seems these bugs aren't really being addressed. And because they're currently developing the sequel, something tells me they won't be. The bugs I've experienced so far are: Beacons I've placed on the ground are stuck below the ground There's a weird column of fire burning in the water. No idea why Bad pop in where sometimes the sections of the map don't pop in at all. This will sometimes lead you to being stuck in or under the map and you just have to let yourself die to get out. Every time you breach the surface of the water, the game seems to freeze as a bunch of frames drop before you're good again. And my current issue is that my base and my moon pool seem to be flooded with water. Moonpool full to the roof and base appears as if it's in water but i can still walk around normally. Another issue that is not so much a bug as it is poor UI design is that going through some of the menus. The details of the item selected blocks so many other things that you don't really know what's being blocked until you navigate around a bit. Weird design choice. Great game but get it on sale!

Wow! This is one great game and probably the best kept secret of 2018. Subnautica starts with a crash into an ocean. The game doesn't tell you where to go or what to you, it is up to the player to figure it all out. The lack of guidance might feel overwhelming at first, but it really makes forward progress all that much more meaningful. Highly recommended.

Subnautica is one of my favorite games I've played so far this year. Starting you off on the ocean world 4546b it's up to you to craft tools needed for your survival as you have to go deeper to find the different resources and information you need to get off the planet and to solve the mysteries left by those who we're there before you on 4546b.

I love Subnautica, in its greater moments, it is both fantastic and terrifying. Sometimes it is a little glitchy and is plagued with pop-in issues, but the game is still an awesome experience and I would recommend it despite the errors. It is being update regularly so hopefully the issues will be cleared up soon

Besides a few technical issues i.e. lag and glitches, the game is pretty atmospheric and fun to play. It doesn't take long to lose sense of time when going through caves, fighting off sea creatures and collecting resources for the next big project: getting deeper into the ocean and figuring out why you're there in the first place.

One of the best survival games I played yet but playing it on control is at risk terrible frame rate and terrible pop-up if you can play it on pc but if you can only play it on PS4 or Xbox Then I recommend playing it but at your own risk.

This game has pretty great graphics! It is a survival game. You have to try to find oxygen and supplies throughout your time underwater, all the while trying to avoid creatures lurking in the depths below. A neat idea for a game : )
