As usual, Tom Hanks gives a good performance. The movie gives a behind the scenes look at the aftermath of the incident.

I'm actually jealous of Tom Hanks !!! From the movie "BIG" to his latest accomplishment, "Sully", he relentlessly weaves his acting magic. But I digress. The movie was NOT what I expected. As the fllm progressed, Hero Sully was treated like anything BUT a hero by the long arm of the Federal establishment and it did not take long before I was on the side of this gentle, upright (all) life-saving pilot who had to fight/think his was out of abominable situation/inquiries that few if any people could have tolerated/survived. One tiny thing confused me at first. Early in the film, flashbacks by Sully of the events were played out with horrific imagined endings. After several of these I began to realize that the ACTUAL REAL Story was coming up. Oveall, a captivating movie !!!

"SULLY" is the true story of Pilot Sullenberger (aka SULLY) whose plane was struck by geese after departing LaGuardia airport in New York, and decided that he had to land in the Hudson River. And shows the aftermath and "his trial" regarding his decision. It is intense, great directing by Clint Eastwood and excellent acting by all, especially by TOM HANKS, who looks like Sully. What makes the movie is the DOLBY ATMOS sound! If you are interested in flying, or in terrific acting and storytelling, or just want a very entertaining and great movie, then fly into BEST BUY, and land there to purchase this for a BEST BUY price. Best Buy always has the BEST BUYS! After buying, GLIDE back home and take a seat near your TV, pop in the disc, and watch a HIGH FLYING movie!

This movie is enjoyable because it is based on the real life event. It includes a lot of the behind the scenes information that Sully had to go through that I was not aware. The 4K version adds a much better picture.

you want to enjoy a real drama movie this is the key one a true story a real story , perfect image HRD is awesome and dolby atmos sound uffff

I was very hesitant in buying this given that I already knew the story and the ending. But, as an Air Force trained mishap investigator and a retired pilot I was immediately sucked into the plot. Screenplay was excellent and the details surrounding the NTSB investigation were nicely compiled into a not so well known suspenseful conclusion. I found myself yelling at the NTSB investigator, "What about the human factors, butt head!" Even if you know the ending, you'll love how Clint Eastwood crafted this tale into a story you'll enjoy experiencing again. And, don't forget to spend some time watching the bonus features. Sully's take on his real life and how it is portrayed in the movie is well worth it.

Tom Hanks does great movies, I'm not sure how close they stayed to reality on this one but it made believe in Sully's decision to land in the river was the correct one. To me that's a good movie.

A great addition to our 4KHDR collection, this film recounts the story behind the “Miracle on the Hudson” and the heroic actions of the Captain and crew. Highly recommend this movie!

Terrific story. We'll acted. The inquisition he has endure after he saved the lives of his passengers and crew is both upsetting while making this an above average film. Good 4k video.

I saw this movie when it first came out. i really enjoyed it. I though Tom Hanks gave a great performance. I remember when it actually happen and saw it all unfold on TV. I have to say that Sully Sullenberger did an awesome job landing the plane in the Hudson and saving everybody on that flight. The best part of the movie, in my opinion, was when they had the hearing at the end and other people tried to prove him wrong by not going for the nearby airport. Watch it and see for yourself.

Great movie. Great video and audio quality. If you have a atmos system it sounds amazing.

Aviation enthusiasts will appreciate the realistic portrayal of cockpit procedures and terminology. Someone finally consulted an aviation professional to get it right.

It is possibly the best of my 25+ 4k blu-rays in terms of image quality. And I only buy the most highly rated since I have an extensive regular blu-ray collection.

This movie depicts many aspects and considerations required of the flight crew during the short time they were able to stay airborne. It also shows how the NTSB attempts to blame the pilots when a plane goes down in any place other than the intended destination even when all lives on board are saved. The reality in this movie also exposes the NTSB's shortcomings in proving the flight crew could have made it to any available airport to land. Finally an aviation story a pilot agrees with and understands without unrealistic drama to sell the product. Reality at it's best in this documentary style film. A must see!

A very powerful story brought to life with an amazing performance by Tom Hanks. I saw this in IMAX, and aside from the aspect ratio, this UHD almost exactly replicates the clarity, colors, and depth of photography seen on the large format screens. Quality film, fantastic disc!

An interesting portrayal of Miracle on the Hudson. Tom Hanks doesn't disappoint.

I am so glad this movie was made so that we could know the real story behind the "Miracle on the Hudson." It was a shame that Captain Sully and his Co-Pilate had to endure questions and scrutiny by those who wanted to place blame on them even after ALL passengers were saved! The truth needed to be told so that people would know how some powerful companies want their employees to be scapegoats if there is a risk that they might be sued even when they have extraordinary people like Sully and his Co-Pilate! Even though they both said they were just doing their job they went up and beyond the call of duty!

About three minutes after US Airways Flight 1549 took off from New York's LaGuardia Airport multiple bird strikes by Canadian geese caused both jet engines to fail. Sully turned to co-pilot Jeffrey Skiles (the excellent Aaron Eckhart) to consider options. Could they return to LaGuardia or the nearby Teterboro airport in New Jersey without crashing? With 208 seconds to decide, Sully said, "We're going in the Hudson." The Captain picked a spot near midtown where choppers, police, fireman and ferryboat rescue units could move in quickly. They did, in 24 minutes. Thi is a great movie

This is a great movie. However, as usual Hollywood does take some liberties with the truth as far as the review of the crash. But the acting by Tom Hanks as Sully is, as usual, superb. He really shows the mental trauma Sully and his copilot (Aaron Elkhart) went through. The amount of tension you feel about the flight is real even though the outcome is known. Kudos to the ferries and others who responded to the crash and picked up passengers and crew.
