    This is a perfectly wonderful movie about what happens when the world discovers that a mythological creature is real, from the mythological creature's viewpoint. (We behave exactly as badly as you'd probably expect). One caveat: although this is listed as a kids' movie, it begins with the bloody murder of the young kappa's father, includes the painful death of a noble dog, and contains a moment when the character contemplates suicide. All of this is completely appropriate in context for the story's themes but might not be what you expect from a kid's cartoon.
