For that purpose it has been great. It can only cut a diameter of up to around 9 inches, but I think a range of 4-7 inches is ideal. The saw is durable, easy to use, and compact. I have only used it for short periods at a time, so am not sure how long the battery would last, but it has caused me no problems so far. I have also not had occasion to purchase any other Sun Joe tools that could use the same battery, but it is nice to have the option. The one minor downside - and this may be typical of chainsaws - is that it seeps bar oil pretty significantly if the reservoir is not emptied between uses. So you need to drain the reservoir and/or be careful of the surface the saw is stored on.

Great for cutting small trees and limbs. Very good power for a battery operated saw. I love it because it is lightweight and easy to use. Would definitely recommend this chainsaw!

I used to clip my branches with manual trimming scissors and it took so long. With this chainsaw it makes it so easy. Battery doesn't take long to charge. Also, make sure you extend your warranty on the manufactures website. You have to pay for the warranty but its pretty cheap. 3 year warranty

I bought 2, one fir me and the other for my dad for his birthday. I was looking for a saw to do yard work with but didn't want a big one. It's easy to use, lightweight, and it's battery operated, awesome purchase. My wife was like a little kid with a new toy using it.

It was great the first day cutting a few small branches . recharged the battery and keep oil in it but the second day I could not get through a 2 inch tree branch with out the blade binding up and coming to a stop. took it back and bought a dewalt 20 volt no problems with that one. Not sure what went wrong. Best buy took it back no hassle.
