This is a great deal. Tall tripod, with many position options. Pro quality, very lightweight carbon fiber. The pistol grip adjustments are great, but I would be concerned with a heavy camera. Carrying case is sturdy, with a nice shoulder strap.

The inside plastic part that tightens the upper part broke and now I can't raise it. I just tossed it out.

Very Good & Steady Camera Holding

This tripod worked wonderfully, for holding my camera in place. I was concerned about the sturdiness of the tripod, because of the "ball" head, and not being able to sustain the position I wanted to lay my camera, but it held up just great, even with the additional camera portrait-handle grip attachment that I had connected.

I currently have 4 other tripods, This one was a Birthday gift from my wife, Pros: legs will open flat for low level shots, The center post can be removed and inserted upside down for overhead still life and flower shots, The legs can be adjusted separately from each other for odd setups i.e 2 legs on the ground one on a wall, It works well in the studio as a tripod or light stand. Carbon fiber is a plus, Leg warmers are a nice touch. everything I wanted in a tripod for about half the money I was expecting to spend. Carry case is well made
Cons: a little bulky for day trips in my slingshot back pack

Strongly recommend against this tripod

I strongly recommend against this tripod. It is way overpriced for being such a bad quality item. We bought it because really liked that it was very light weighted to carry. Soon after the pistol grip stopped holding my camera. Especially in vertical position. So bad... I own canon 5d. Even with 50mm lens my camera flops down. We tightened all the screws, but it didn't help. We exchanged this tripod in a couple of weeks for the same model hoping that we just got a bad copy, but our new tripod also doesn't hold the camera, even more: one of the legs doesn't hold. These tripods are pieces of garbage. And I am one unhappy customer as best buy refused to exchange this non-working item when we came back again.

started good but...

Not for a DSLR. I have a 6D and after just 4 or 5 days the pivot would not hold the camera with lens. It would barely hold the camera body. I expected more for the price. I would recommend if you have a smaller camera or video. But not for DSLR.

after (light use) of this tripod for a few months, one of the locks on the three legs failed, hard to keep balanced without taping it each time. Get the extended warrantee .
