For an overall album, it is okay. Megadeth had better albums than this but it is still good. Best Buy's work was perfect but don't let this review reflect how they did, it is how I am rating the album. I would recommend it to a friend who is a diehardfan, but not anything past that.

Great album. Reminded me of an updated version of the early 90's Megadeth.

When I first heard the title track I thought it was good, but was not really impressed. After giving this a good listen on a decent sound system my initial impression was wrong. The title track has more musical depth and layers to it than any other Megadeth track that I can think of. The core guitar riff is simple and doesn’t smother the song. The base line that David Ellefson lays down is complex and has room to breathe behind the rhythm guitar and small lead fills are thrown in here and there with some really solid drumming. This is a guitar driven hard rock album. I’ve heard some comparisons to Risk and I just don’t hear it. I would say this album a good cross between Countdown to Extinction and The World Needs a Hero. Chris Broderick lays down some very memorable lead work on this one; very melodic with a touch of blues. There’s still the typical shredding but it is much more restrained making the lead work much more catchy. Dave’s vocal range isn’t what it used to be but his vocals fit the material perfectly. When I saw the song title, “Dance in the Rain”, my first thought was, “this is gonna be lame!”. Well, turns out this is now one of my favorite songs that the band has released. Other standout tracks are Kingmaker, Beginning of Sorrow, Don’t Turn Your Back…, and The Blackest Crow. The Thin Lizzy cover of Cold Sweat is also fantastic. I’m not sure it’s worth the extra cash to get the bonus songs; they are the weakest on the album, but still good. The 3D cover is actually really cool though. I’d give this 4 and a half stars; highly recommended.

Like others, when I first heard the title track, I thought it wasn't that great. But when I listened to the other tracks, I was really impressed. The album is a bit softer than usual, but it's not a bad thing. I highly recommend people to listen to all of the tracks, and not judge it because of the title track, Super Collider. I’ve been listening to Megadeth since the early 90’s, and I still see no sign of Megadeth getting weak. In fact, a few tracks remind me of songs from earlier years, such as the Youthanasia and World Needs a Hero. I personally liked Kingmaker, Off the Edge, Dance in the Rain, and Forget to Remember, and Don't Turn Your Back.

Not one of their records are similar. They always innovate, make the unexpected, and do it with such finesse. I am proud to have grown up with Megadeth and be their fan throughout their career. We fans are so fortunate to be able to have yet another masterpiece from Megadeth. It is a great pleasure to listen to this album from beginning to end. I believe old and new fans will all find something that speaks to them and becomes a certain irresistible piece among their personal favorites. Thank you Best Buy for offering this special edition with extra tracks and beautiful 3D cover.

This Best Buy version is really cool. It has a great 3D cover and all the bonus tracks. Now personally I would have moved track 11 down to 13 and bumped 12 & 13 up to be 11 & 12. Then I would have done away with the single live track and maybe added another cover song. Overall the cd is really good despite reviews from people who are only interested in hearing Rust In Peace for the rest of their lives. Was not a fan of David Draiman of Disturbed, but you really can't hear his contributions here so, it doesn't bother me. If his vocals were more prevalent, I would have had to skip those tracks. The cover of Cold Sweat was great and they should have done the song Thunder and Lightning to go with it!! Do yourself a favor and buy this CD and Buy it here from Best Buy to get the Best version!!

Listened to the album once and decided it's an instant classic. Make no mistake this album is not for the casual Megadeth listener or someone who wants to start listening to the band for the first time but it is for the hardcore Droogies. This is the best Megadeth album since Endgame and every track kicks major butt get it now you will not be disappointed!

Not the best Megadeth album, in fact a lot of fans and critics say it is the worst, but if you are a completist like me, gotta have it

Where to begin...
Ok, so Megadeth has been through so many personnel changes in the last 20 years or so, it's hard to keep track of the band members.
Suffice to say that this is the best line-up the band has seen since Rust In Peace . Bassist David Ellefson has returned to the fold, rounding out Dave Mustaine's vision along with guitar shredder Chris Broderick and drummer Shawn Drover. A great band whose last two CDs (Endgame and Thirteen) have been nearly a return to form.
Until this abysmal effort....
What we have here is a lousy, mainstream, mid-tempo bore of a CD. Virtually all filler, no killer. The closest the band comes to interesting here is on the track "The Blackest Crow" , which features some banjo and an almost bluegrassy feel. The rest of the disc is uninspired, juvenile, lyrically bankrupt dreck which is largely devoid of the stuff that once made this band great. Guitar solos are far and few between and Dave's signature sneer just comes across as trite posturing. Super Collider may be fine for entry level Megadeth fans, but if you've been following the band for any period of time, you'll find this as inspiring as "Risk" was.
In other words, save your money.
This is not "thrash" or "speed" metal. This is just plain formulaic rubbish.
