If youre a fan of the old school mario or the new style side scrolling mario and a tad bit bored of the same stages well this game is perfect for you. There are many creative players out there creating stages thatll challenge your every move. I highly recommend this game. You can even play this with friends whether on the couch or online.

The game has great tools for making levels and works well in both portable and docked mode. The real star of the show is the online course world. So many amazing levels can be found online, with everything from traditional levels, courses based off other franchises, speedruns, and puzzle solving levels. This is among the must haves for any switch owner

The first game was already pretty good, and Nintendo went and out did themselves with this sequel. They've added much more stuff to the level builder with slopes too! There's a story mode also that gets players adjusted to what the level builder has to offer. If you like making levels and have an imagination then get this game! Its lots of fun!

Super Mario Maker is a super fun game with near infinite play value! There’s always a new level to go through and play with friends!

Really good sequel to the first one more items lots of fun

I was hoping for some solid classic Mario platforming fun. What I got was a unique, playful take on Mario platforming that is a joy to experience! Highly recommended. And I haven’t even tried using the creation tools yet! I mostly wanted it for consumption rather than creation, but I like that the feature is there.

The campaign is solid, but won’t take you long to complete. Of course, the main draw is level creation. My levels aren’t as creative as some of the other online courses but it’s still fun. I like the co op and versus modes, but the lag and disconnects are really annoying.

I played super mario maker 1 in Wii U and Nintendo 3DS before. This new super mario maker 2 advances the game with more options to create your own mario course level and allow multi-players mode. I like to play with co-op players mode and try online courses created with other worldwide players. This game is super good and creative.

I'm oldschool. I'm not too fond of the co-op 3D Mario games with its frustrating level designs that are obviously not built around co-op. Which is sad because I want co-op Nintendo games. So I decided to go primal and get Super Mario Maker 2. Getting old means lack of creativity in the noggin', so it's nice that you can play other players' levels. Unfortunately that requires to buy a Nintendo Online Subscription, thankfully those are cheap, but still... I've already knew what to expect in terms of player created level designs. Diabolical players creating close-to-impossible levels, and then there's those where you step on a moving platform and the game does all the work for you. While there is a Filter that should weed out the tryhards and the lazy, but from my experience, it doesn't work and that really irks me. So it takes awhile to find a level that is just "normal". The retro gameplay feels a bit the same to me, BUT the inputs are changed and that really irks me as well. For example, the face buttons are just Run and/or Jump. Then you get to Super Mario World controls, the Spin Jump is now on the top buttons. WHY!?

Great 2-D Mario game that also allows you to create your own levels to share with family, friends, and the rest of the world. If you enjoy Mario and you enjoy challenging others (or ever think "I could have designed that level better") this game is for you.

My 14 year old son is a huge Mario Brothers fan and has wanted this game since it was announced. We finally got it and we couldn’t be more pleased. He has spent hours on it making his own courses and playing through them trying them out. Very entertaining game with many hours of replay value.
