4 out of 5 Stars Super Mario Party is a package of fun game modes designed for having fun with friends and family. Gaming today is a largely solitary experience. Super Mario Party is reminiscent of what made gaming so popular decades ago, experiencing games together. There is nothing like sitting down on the couch and learning the game, laughing together, and sometimes yelling at the competition while in the same room. Super Mario Party paired with the Nintendo Switch taps into those nostalgic experiences from arcades and early game consoles. The game uses the Switch’s hardware in interesting and creative ways. Being able to play with a single Joy-Con means you always have a 2 player set up on hand wherever your bring your Switch. The game features multiple game modes to change up the experience, allowing for competitive and cooperative gameplay. The mini games are fun and easy to learn. There are a few drawbacks to the game. While playing together in the same location is the ideal way to experience this game , in 2018, the lack of online options are certainly noticed. There are bare bones online options to playing individual mini games online with strangers, but nothing beyond that. Not being able to play a full round of Mario Party with friends online is a disappointment. While you can play against computer controlled characters, the lack of online essentially makes the game not worth playing unless you have a room full of people to join you. Nintendo is always behind in the online space, and this game is no exception. Additionally, the lack of Pro Controller support is frustrating. You must have an additional set of Joy-Con if you plan on playing with more than 2 people. Overall, I’d recommend purchasing this game if you regularly have people around to game with. It can be an absolute blast with the right group of people.

This is a very fun game to play with friends and family. The mini games are very addicting and easy to learn. This has completely changed our family game nights and nights over with friends. If you like Mario Kart, you will probably like this game. The only drawback is that it only works with Joy-Cons, not Pro Controllers. So you if you plan on playing with 4 people, you will need to have 4 Joy-Cons. Other than that, no complaints.

Me personally I have had a plethora of poor experiences with the Nintendo character named Yoshi and i have finally made him cry using this game. Play this game to not only upset, torture, and bully Yoshi but also have a blast with your loved ones.

Great game for kids and family to enjoy for several years

A pretty fun Mario Party game, game is overall really fun, however I'd recommend Mario Party Superstars over this one personally, however the game itself is still very solid and fun.

The best game to share time with family and friends

One of the best games i’ve played. I play this with my family, my wife and nieces and nephew and it’s really fun, a great way to bond with them. Buy it!!!

Wish the maps were at unique as Mario 2 for the Nintendo 64, but overall great experience and fun for the whole family.

It is a great game for those that want to get into the franchise.

Good game, can't wait to play with the family together!

goomba and shy guy are playable characters and A tier. 10/10

One of my favorite games has lots of mini game for hours of fun

You make the purchase and they don't tell you anything about the return policy. If in a certain case the game is damaged or you don't like it and you want your money back, they don't solve anything in the store and they tell you that they have a policy of not receiving video game returns, that is, they do not refund your money and they do not accept the video game back. They tell you to call the headquarters so they can solve it, and the strangest thing about it is that if you make the return on the website it tells you that the game is eligible for a return within 20 days. I am experiencing it horrible in my case

The game itself is fun, but i do have a few gripes about super mario party that i do not like. On the back of the game itself states "Party anywhere, anyway!" First of all you can Not play the game with a pro controller! No where in the advertising was this ever mentioned. I personally like playing games with a controller or in handheld mode. I like having the option to do so and not to be forced to play a game in one certain way, i found out about the use of the joycons only after i baught the game and looked at the back of the box. This leads me to my second gripe where you can Not play the game in handheld mode! This i do not like at all considering if i was traveling and wanted to play the game by myself on a plane or a train i can't because i am forced to have a table to use one of the joycons. While i understand why they implemented the use if the joycons the way the did i do not agree with the choice. Many of the movements, button controls, and actions can be used with a pro controller. My husbands hands started cramping due to the fact of how you have to hold the joycons in order to play the game. My last conplaint about the game is how small the boards are when playing party mode. Nintendo should have doubled the board size for a better gaming experience. The pros of super mario party are the mini games are all fun, no two games are exactly alike giving it a more diverse feeling. The inclusions of the hub world is a nice touch giving you the option to feel apart of the game. The character animation and bright art syle make it visualy appealing, alont with that the music is nothing special but has the fell of an old mario party game giving it a nostalgic feeling. Lasting of nintendo could send out an update to be able to play the game with a pro contoller And in handheld mode the game would be a must have for any nintendo lover and would have been rated 5 stars!
