    The Girl of Steel's debut

Kara Zor-El has arrived and not a moment too soon. It's been ages since a female has fronted her very own superhero series and Supergirl is worth the wait. Smart, funny, action-packed with solid stuntwork and lots of heart, it's the best addition to the Arrowverse since The Flash and one of the best series in the DCTVU. If you loved the recent Wonder Woman movie, give Supergirl a shot.

An adequate DC adaptation for TV

Some of the effects are not that great, but you cannot beat the overall enthusiasm and positive message of this TV show. It's Supergirl, the cousin of Superman (who doesn't show in this season). It's about her finding her place in this messed up world, and trying to make a difference while still being "human". As opposed to the DC movies, it's not dark, and while there are tense moments, it is nowhere near the violence of other shows/movies of its ilk. Worth the watch!

Wrote the review of Supergirl on Legends of Tomorrow. So I'll write the Legends here. Like I said about the other shows, this one is really good too. Like having multiple characters in a series, and able to use all in the shows, Glad to get this one as I was not able to see the final 3 episodes of the season. Did watch the ending the day I got it to see those final 3. Awesome.

It's a show that you have to be patient with not every episode is great but the ones that are makes worth owning the Blu-ray season for. For example the introduction of Martian man Hunter and the flash team up episode from CW's flash are breath holding moments for the show and about six episodes in and you're definitely start feeling the vibe of the show and the direction they're going. It has plenty a special features enough behind the scenes and a blooper reel.

Supergirl - liking watching cartoons with my kids

This is not the gritty world of Arrow, rather a much nice (if still challenging) upscale city for Kara Danvers and her sister by adoption. My wife and I enjoyed the twists and turns of Supergirl's life much like we got a kick from the cartoons our kids watched (so long ago). A good show that always leaves us feeling good at the end. Superhero fans will like it.

I've enjoyed what I've seen of this so far (to be honest, bought the DVD on Black Friday so I could delete S1 from my DVR), and am glad it's found a home on the CW (which is a much better fit in my opinion). I would recommend this to anyone that is a fan of Flash on the CW, the writing & "feel" of the show is very similar. Fans of Arrow would probably like it as well, but Arrow is a much darker show than Flash or Supergirl.

My grandson and I watched the first season of Supergirl. We were thoroughly impressed with the story development and found ourselves anxiously looking forward to the next episode. We both agreed that Season 1 made Supergirl come alive. We are looking forward with great anticipation to Season 2. I highly recommend the Blu-ray version of this series.

This fantastic series was first developed for the CBS affiliate, however, the brains did not get it, so the wonderful CW channel picked it up, and continued it's superb story line, with it's other fantastic super hero programs, currently running. If you started watching this on CBS, continue watching, please, you will not be disappointed..

DC does it again with another spectacular show!!! Can't give away the secret additional character that works side by side with her but with that and special guest appearance from my personal favorite the Flash, this show is definitely worth seeing. I'm hoping in the future they also bring in the Arrow to fight along with her on an episode or two

And CBS had the audacity to cancel it! But I was more than happy to hear that the CW has picked it up for the second season, because I like it a lot and all the characters in it. It's fun but also has the same drama as shows like "Smallville". Would've like to have Tom Welling back as Clark but I'm willing to give the new guy a shot.

This is a really fun series, especially the first season, which introduces Supergirl/Kara Danvers and her friends and famiy. It’s great to see a woman in the lead and working through issues both universal and unique to women. The DVD has some extras but captures all the fun of the first year. My daughter loves it!

This is the third series written by Berlanti and Kreisberg. In the first season, time is spent showing how Kara becomes Supergirl. The show spends time with Supergirl fighting off enemies of her cousin, Superman, and later encounters a community of metahumans who seek to destroy her. There are nice crossover events with the Flash and Arrow and continues to deal with her humanity through all of this.

Supergirl Season 1 was the start of a fantastic show. It really picked up about halfway through the season. Characters are enjoyable and the plot became strong (especially in season 2). The quality of the discs is great, of course and the special features provided are a nice addition. Definitely worth watching.

With all the starts of TV Series for Superheroes, this one was a good. Too bad this series is technically not in the same universe as "Arrow" & "Flash", but they are connected in some extent. The acting could have been a little better, but Melissa Benoist did a good job. I disagreed with some action scenes, however I was still interested in watching the entire series.

When I began watching the new Supergirl series, I was somewhat disappointed. I thought it was a bit campy and catered to a much younger audience. As the series continued, it got better and better. Melissa Benoist grew into her role and when she gets desperate and/or angry, her acting skills really take off.

I have never been a big supergirl fan prior to the show being releasesed, but am very familiar with the character. I took a chance with this show because I am a fan of the other DC shows on mainstream television and was not disappointed. Good acting and storytelling that keeps you interested. I cannot wait to see this show airing on the CW this fall! Check it out!

I bought this and its worth owning. It's a great funny show that is full of a positive attitude. This is what the last two superman movies should have been about. I am glad that DC/Warner is at least making one happy positive show all their other stuff is getting very dark (Man of Steel etc).

DC isn't marvel to me by any means, but they are on the verge of making their own huge superhero world come to life with this, flash, arrow etc. Quality production and acting, makes Supergirl a pretty sick show. Entertaining to say the least. A great find. Honestly leaves me wanting more. A+

Finally a TV series for Supergirl. In the past TV seemed to ignore all heroes from Krypton other than Superman. This series rectifies the oversight. Although the TV series doesn't follow the classic comic book format it is still an excellent series. The DVD is also very good, too.

I really enjoyed this show. It has a number of interesting characters, and I think it was a good addition to the Arrowverse. This first season has one episode where the Flash shows up, but then it moved to the CW from CBS and is now part of their superhero lineup.
