in my eyes this is the original, the greatest version of Superman of our time. Christopher Reeve is the classic Superman that everybody knows and loves and this movie started it all. One of my all-time favorite movies not just comic book movie, but all time favorite. Now upgraded to 4K and looking better than ever.

It’s awesome watching the late great Christopher Reeves ! Movie is perfect to watch with the kids and show me who’s boss !

I was 8 when Superman hit the theaters so you can imagine it was bigger than life to me then. I do love part II but this original first release is still the absolute best of them all in my opinion. After I got 4K I was excited to see this was out and SO happy I didn't have to buy a whole set of the films just to get the one I really wanted. I'm also happy to say this is the original theatrical release, which I happen to prefer myself over the extended cut. The picture quality is fantastic. I mean in a new way of seeing it now in 4K fantastic. The detail is there and the colors pop. You've never seen Superman look so vibrant and good at home, trust me. Understandably a handful of scenes look a little soft but that's how the film was originally shot. There's also some pretty heavy grain during the early Krypton scenes (which have lots of optical effects) but I was able to look past that and it surely didn't bother me as much as other older films I've seen on 4K disc. One thing that surpassed my expectation was the sound. Hearing this in 7.1 Atmos was incredible and I found myself smiling often. Depending on your system this release can offer the coolest audio experience you've ever had watching Superman at home. Now let's hope Superman II on 4K isn't too far behind!

Great 4k transfer, this movie never looked so good. This is by far the best of the Superman films.

I love this movie when I saw this on TV years ago. I enjoy it in clear 4K.

I enjoyed watching this movie. The public is First Introduced to a Different SuperMan. This movie has lots of Action and Drama. Bravo to the Actors And Actresses of this movie. Kudos to the Director of this movie!

Movie is as fun as ever, but looks better than ever.

You can tell this movie is dated compared to the super hero spectacles we have now but we probably don't get those spectacles without this film. Check it out on that and the fact that it is a good movie and superman done closer to being right than the current version.

this is a great upgrade to the original film, it looks like it was filmed a few years ago. just watch the 4k first because mine had something wrong and had to exchange it .

I guess I have gotten so used to modern produced UHD 4K that the picture quality and 5.1 surround just doesn't make it anymore. Still liked the story line though and the lack of real violence and profanity was refreshing. Hence the overall 4 star rating.

I've personally been waiting for this comprehensive version of the movie to be released in Blu-Ray or 4K. Having it in Blu-Ray is a good start. This version of Superman the Movie includes much of the footage that you would have seen in the made for TV version of the film. Much like the Godfather back in the late 70's and 80's these movies would be adapted for television often times adding additional scenes that were left out and premiering the movie which would often span 3-4 hours to accommodate the content. The scenes especially toward the end where it shows Lex Luthor's devious and maniacal nature not only against Superman but toward his own team were great to see return in their continuity. This is a must have version for those who love this movie. One of the best super hero films ever adapted. With direction by Richard Donner and script by the legendary Maroi Puzo, this film truly lives up the epic nature that so many current films of this genre have lost sight of.

For me...this will always be the definitive Superman movie. Christopher Reeve, may he rest in peace, is Superman. He'll always be Superman to several generations now and into the future. And although some of the effects are noticeably dated, one cannot but be awed by the cinematography, especially in the early farm scenes in Smallville. Beautifully shot with majestic landscapes, you truly have to appreciate something with such scope from a superhero film made in the 1970s. Although the budget ballooned, you can really see the amount of love and detail put into this movie. It still holds up to the test of time. Witty banter, excellent chemistry between Christopher, Margot and Gene. The rockets still look believable and Lois' tragic fate still scares the crap outta me. I simply have to give this movie a watch every year. Nothing will ever come close to John Williams original score as well. Richard Donner's name as well as the talented crew behind this movie will always go down as being ahead of their time. Simply incredible.

Superman was made in 78’ so it’s effects don’t pop or excel in this 4K Master. What does pop is the beautiful audio mix. Superman flying packs a powerful punch

This Superman in 4K the better Superman,I have no words for this masterpiece, I recommend this movie the colors the sounds the remastered are amazing!!!

I have a Blu Ray player only but the graphics are good. In 1978, they did a good job making it appear Christopher Reeve was actually flying

This as an awesome movie. I never tire of watching it. A masterwork that I can't imagine not having in my collection. The 4k transfer is pretty good.
