It's a great movie from a a great comic book story. It's the 3rd best after all star and death of superman

After the last Superman made-for-DVD movie, "Superman vs. the Elite," I began to see that the Bruce Timm-era of really great DC properties in animation had started to lose their way. I was happy to see that "Unbound" improved upon the last outing, albeit with only slightly better animation. The unfortunate thing, though, is that the story wasn't all that better. To me, the best Superman stories of the past 20 years include Brainiac. And as much as I like Geoff Johns, I didn't care for this Brainiac story as much as I did how they had him in the Superman Animated Series. Humanizing him into the android form reminded me too much of the old comics and Legion of Doom-era Brainiac, and that just wasn't very interesting to me. However, he was a lot more interesting in THIS android form than in those old comics and cartoons. Just not as good as TAS. It was definitely worth seeing if you are a fan of this genre. The voice actors were very good, even if they were very unknown. Andrea Romano continues to prove the she knows how to cast these characters and stay true to fan's views of them.

I love the whole story behind Brainiac. I now have another figure to add to my collection.

Almost every DC animated film has been stellar to date, and this one certainly did not disappoint!

I just watched this & I thoroughly enjoyed it. It's an adaptation from an Action Comics 5 parter from 2008. It's been awhile since I read those but from what I remember the movie didn't stray too far. There are pretty good action sequences & some good emotional depth as well. The voice actors do a very good job. You've got Matt Bomer (White Collar) as Supes, Stana Katic (Castle) as Lois, Molly Quinn (Castle) as Supergirl, & John Noble (Fringe) as Brainiac. The extras include: Braniac: Technology and Terror (24:42), A Digital Comic Excerpt from the Graphic Novel "Superman: Brainiac, 4 eps from Superman: The Animated Series - "The Last Son of Krypton", "New Kids in Town" & "Little Girl Lost" pts 1 & 2. Blu-ray exclusives extras: Audio Commentary & Kandor: History of the Bottle City (16:54)

Nicely-animated with well-cast voices. Pretty good pacing with lots of action (typical for these DCAU features). Just wish that DC would stop serving up plots which tie Supergirl to the villain; it's getting a little dull. It would also be nice if DC extended these movies by a couple minutes in order to allow for a little more emotional development, like the Pa Kent storyline from the source.

Finally i got this Blu-ray. I absolutely enjoyed this version of brainiac, so much was shown and explained properly through out the cartoon. For those DC fans that love these type of storylines, but it. You will not regret it. Very in depth story telling.

by the title of this film I didn't know until I watched it that it's actually the story (or one of the versions) of Brainiac and it has Supergirl in it also. I think the movie was pretty good but there are also on the special features other TV spots of this story that are better versions.

Very dark christopher nolan-esq type of movie. Fun movie with an open mind. A lot more of a serious tone than traditional man of steel flicks, but a welcome change of pace if you like to see different character archs on beloved heroes. Give it a chance if you like superman.

If your a Superman Fan then you'll enjoy it, but if not then you might get lost in what is going on. May not know all the characters. But the fight scenes are good and like the voice actors. Superman does get knocked around a lot got confused why he was so weak against Brainiac.

This is a great DVD. It vividly follows the comic book (so if you are looking for any deviation from that story, don't buy the DVD). I was extremely happy with the comic (and therefore very happy with the DVD). The figure is another great example of collectibles included in DC packaging! Overall a very solid buy and a must for any collection.

DC certainly knows how to do animation! Superman Unbound has a lot of what I love, power, action, facing off against the bad guy. Love, Love, Love this film. If you enjoy animation, and are a fan of DC, even if your not a fan of DC, this iw worth watching. And even owning.

Since I enjoy watching good animation with great stories, this is a perfect addition to your collection. Super Girl appears in this animation and Superman has his hands full with Brainiac:) Animations from Warner Bros are most of the time better then actual movies. Let's see what happens with the Man of Steel!!

If you love Superman and cannot wait for the live action movie, get this movie! This is one of the best Superman animated movies in quite a while. It has a great story and plot plus the top notch animation. You can't go wrong with this movie. The Bluray version ads great HD sound for surround sound systems.

This one was good but I went in expecting more because of the past few movies with Supes in the lead role or lead / supporting role. I cannot put my finger on it but this one is not for casual fans of comic movies or comic books.

I did not read any reviews before picking this one up. I usually grab all of DC's animated super hero films so this too was a no brainer. Good film, good animation and the quality you expect from WB animation and DC.

This story was completely unexpected, I won't spoil it for you suffice to say, It was worth putting in my collection

So I was a little wary of this movie, in my mind Superman will always be Tim Daly. But I got the movie and was completely blown away. Without giving anything away I did not see where they were going with the plot, which is nice for a change. Definitely worth getting.

Great movie from dcu animation. Great voice actors. Extras are awesome like always. Bruce timm is not associated with this film so you're going to see a different style of animation. Here's hoping to a great dcu without B.T. Overall its a buy if your a huge DC fan.
